Paul: Country is moving toward fascism
The Hill ^ | December 23, 2007 | Klaus Marre |

White House hopeful Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) said Sunday that the U.S. is moving toward fascism, stating that corporations are increasingly “running the show” and citizens are being deprived of their liberties.

Paul clarified that he did not refer to the type of fascism that Adolf Hitler practiced in Germany. “We’re not moving toward Hitler-type fascism, but we’re moving toward a softer fascism,” Paul said on NBC’s Meet the Press. “Loss of civil liberties, corporations running the show, big government in bed with big business.”

The lawmaker said the U.S. is moving toward “corporatism.” He also lashed out at a system in which those are criticized as unpatriotic who do not support the war in Iraq or the Patriot Act.

..we’re moving toward a softer fascism,

A softer, more gentle fascism.

I think we've heard something like that before.

"Ron Paul foes not belong in the Republican Party."

Possibly, but for now we will allow you Paul bashers to remain in the Republican Party. Just until he is elected, of course, then we kick you "foes" out!

BTW: Take a night course in EASL.

You left out something we call a "verb".

"What I what to know is who is running Ron Paul?"

Just curious here, have you asked that same question regarding GWB as well?

"Takes a lot of nerve to step forward and defend Ron Paul."

No.

"Bash the Republican party...."

Actually, we really don't need to do that since the Republican Party is on a downward slide toward oblivion, and they are doing it themselves.

I understand you don't need us, but truth be known; we need you, at least for the time being. Until RP is elected, that is, then you can go on your merry way and create another third party for all I care.

Call it the RINO Party. "We're almost as good as socialism, but without the long hair."

"not going to happen..."

What's not going to happen?

FYI; you left out both the verb and the subject this time.

I am beginning to think that we need to lobby for easier third Party candidate access to ballots on a state level. The Pubbies are generally not going to welcome fiscal conservatvies in Congressional races, and the Executive branch can only so so much. To roll back government largesse, we need a third party.

>>Dang! I was hoping Ron Paul could find a party , but not with the Republicans.”

You speak as if your proud of the republicans performance.

Hell, their part of the problem. This is why so many millions of Americans are looking for alternatives from the two party system.

The Dems have been highjacked by the ultra liberal socialist and the Republicans have been highjacked by big money corporate/foreign interest hell bent on globalism.

Where’s this leave the average conservative Joe-sixpack?

Lookin for a way outta the two party system.

at least Fred Thompson is not a NUT, supported by looney tunes.

You're right, Fred Thompson is supported by the Council on Foreign Relations, a bipartisan committee DEDICATED to selling out American sovereignty for a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT.

I understand you don't need us

Straw polls in almost all states show Ron Paul garnering between 25%-35% of the vote. If those figures are true...can the GOP really sustain a 25%-35% hemorrhage?

According to the bashers, RP gets only about 3%.

I have seen many posts here to the effect that he is of no consequence, since he can only garner 3% at the most.

The same bashers also have posted here that they don't need us nor want us.

The GOP is on its last legs, and working feverishly to commit political suicide as completely as possible as quickly as possible.

Maybe they really don't need us after all.

<”It’s a controversial statement, but also a true statement”>

Yep, but one might add that Socialism accomplishes the same thing - total control and/or influence over every aspect of our lives, including the constant and ongoing screw ups of an ever expanding bureaucracy. Only those who have lived under Socialism can comprehend this and unfortunately our ‘skools’ are teaching the kids that this is the way to go. Getting back to RP, he should take a lengthy bath in ‘sheep dip’ and be hung out to dry IMO.

Yup, if fascist economics goes on long enough, it ends up at the same place as out and out communism. Hitler also said something along the lines of: ‘Why nationalize the banks, when you can nationalize the people?’ If you control what the owners can do, you don’t need to ‘own’ the means of production.
