Rumor circulating on the Fred08 blog that there is going to be a major "surprise" announcement coming this morning.

Perhaps an NRA endorsement or a major political figure?

He will announce that he is endorsing Romney, but will bungle it and refer to him as his close friend "Mitch".

I'm a Thompson supporter and I can tell you that I will not support Huckabee or Romney should Fred drop out.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. We have no idea if this will be an endorsement, and raising expectations for a big one won’t help if it isn’t the case.

I seriously doubt this is a drop out announcement—word in the field is that he may do surprisingly well. Do not pay attention to the polls—they are wildly inaccurate for Iowa and even in them the strength of “support” seems flimsy and the margins of error substantial.

Visibilty is now the purview of the MSM, has been since the “five-o-clock shadow” debates between Kennedy, Nixon.

Polls, ditto.

Fred is not dropping out. There is absolutely no reason for him to do so. He will win the nomination.

Then the 65.8% of Free Republicans who support Fred Thompson, who are obviously morons, will be without a viable candidate to support. < /sarcasm>

Do you really suppose that Free Republicans would jump to support a liberal candidate like Mitt Romney? That would be like admitting that conservatism is dead.

If Fred is gone, there is no reason to stop telling the truth about Romney.

I do think it might be an endorsement from the NRA.”

I doubt it. Huckabee is good on guns. Why would the NRA waste political capital to support one good guy on guns against another good guy on guns - especially when they would be picking a guy, Thompson, who really has no chance at all.

I think the NRA is more savvy than that. But, if you are right, I agree it would be big for Fred.

FRED THOMPSON will not be dropping out! FRED has picked up the most distinguished endorsements of any candidate, however, the MSM will simply not cover the endorsements. The MSM wants Huckabee because that Huckelberry can be beat by any democRAT! Rudy looks better to me that Huckelberry.

HOWEVER...that will not happen. FRED THOMPSON was be our candidate and next President!

FRED THOMPSON - NATIONAL SECURITY EXPERT (I’ll protect the American people and American values, whatever it takes to stop the Islamic-Fascists including water-boarding) - 2ND AMENDMENT ADVOCATE (arming the People to disarm criminals) – INCREASE THE MILITARY’S STRENGTH AND SIZE (giving those brave men and women a Commander in Chief to be proud of) - SECURE AND SEAL THE BORDERS (don’t give sanctuary anywhere to illegal’s, don’t employ illegal’s, don’t rent to illegal’s, don’t extend credit to illegal’s, don’t give illegal’s rights they don’t deserve, report all crimes committed by illegal’s and deport those illegal’s who have already committed crimes against America) - LAW AND ORDER (enforcement first and foremost with laws currently on the books) – DENY FEDERAL DOLLARS TO SANCTUARY CITIES (enough is enough) – CONSERVATIVE JUSTICES FOR SUPREMES (those who will interpret the law, not create rights that do not exist) – PRO-LIFE ADVOCATE (nominate superior Constitutional Justices to overturn Roe vs Wade) - SOCIAL SECURITY REFORMER (reform a broken program that can’t sustain itself and will bankrupt future generations, with the added benefit of private savings accounts) - DEFEAT ANY DEMOCRAT AND RINO (any fool DemocRATS put up) – TAX SIMPLIFICATION (variety of choice for the tax payer) - WON’T PUT UP WITH CRAP FROM THE MSM (including stupid questions by moderators and pundits) - “WE THE PEOPLE” CANDIDATE (We the People asked him to run and he stepped up) - PING!
