Opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has been critically injured after a suspected suicide attack at a political rally in Pakistan.
It was believed to be a suicide attackShe is undergoing emergency surgery at a nearby hospital, Sky News sources say.
The explosion went off just after Ms Bhutto left the rally in Rawalpindi, minutes after her speech to thousands of people.
Agree. I've said it before & will said it again: "Last time a high profiled political leader was killed in those regions(Ahmed Shah Masoud), 9/11 happened a few days later. Lets hope history does not repeat itself." This attack has all the fixings of an AQ operation.

This may be an opportunity for him to attack AQ. She was a popular candidate among the people and they have to suspect AQ was the killer. The last thing AQ could afford was a popular elected leader. They need a weak gummit they can take over.
Again, underlines the amazing job our troops and President Bush has done in Iraq and Afghan.

Doesn’t that describe the entire ME? The Saudis are the same way, smiling to our faces and funding AQ behind our backs. These aren’t real countries, they are tribes held together by murder, mayhem and money, mostly US petro $$$.
As far as it being too planned for an AQ operation as mentioned by someone previously, 9/11 was meticulously planned, AQ is quite capable of planning and carrying out a simple assasination.

Time to revise those "Top News Stories of 2007" lists! I always found it funny that they release those lists before the year ends. They got burned this year, and it makes me happy that they did (not that the assassination itself makes me happy) !
AQ after having their butts kicked in the WoT is impetent and has to take responsibity for any act of violence in S. Asia or the Middle East.
The only person who stands to benefit from this is Musharraf, AQ gains nothing.

My Uncle Bob and Aunt Carroll are fundamentalists. They live in Indiana, he leads a Scout troop, they go to church every Sunday, and they send Bible tracts out with their Christmas cards. Would that Pakistan was filled with such ‘Fundamentalists.’
This is something that no Dim understands or dares repeat. Over the next 48 hrs they will prove themselves to be unfit for the office.
These are the same people who did everything they could for AQ to take over Iraq.

Most likely Musharraf has not been an Al Qaeda appeaser. It's less clear about the Taliban.
It was a mistake in the way I said it.
I read last Summer that we had a new agreement with India to provide additional nuclear technology; do not know ALL the details.
However, they obtained more rights under IAEA, (including access to fuel) joining the nuclear super-powers.
It was seen by China as India becoming an “agent” of the U.S.
So, although India had the nukes previously, they couldn’t do as much with them as now.
But, you could try being a little less hysterical.
What I mean is how do you kill a person who is inside her armored SUV.

I did see video of her car with what looked like bullet holes in the front windshield .. though I could be wrong
I would like to know why was she not in a an armor vehicle
