A Hard Loss for Romney (He's all but doomed now)

A Hard Loss for Romney By John Ellis

It's one thing to lose as you are. What you lose is an election, but there's always another election and in the case of presidential primary politics, a new electorate that awaits you in the next state. It's another thing to lose as you aren't. Mitt Romney was never the 700 Club right-winger his campaign managers conceived. He was and is a man of business and a very capable one at that.

He's all but doomed now. Senator John McCain will beat him in New Hampshire, probably by a lot, and Romney's media coverage will evaporate and his candidacy will consequently die. On January 9, his managers will walk in and say that the campaign needs $10 million or $15 million to continue and that he, Romney, will have to write the check. Everyone who would contribute has maxed out. Everyone who might won't. Two-time losers don't get new money. It's a basic rule of politics.

***You and you minion can call another faith cult all you want but when it boils down to is your opinions really have no authority!***

I wouldn’t have voted for Romney if he had been a Baptist from Massachusetts.
Maybe it is something poisonus in the land of Kennedy and Kerry.

“I appreciate that you share my opinion on this. All of the Republican candidates contain some measure of party suicide, but running an evangelical preacher as the party candidate surpasses all levels of liberal caricature.”

Brilliant comment.

Many of those positions that you ascribe to Romney are flat out false.

That's why Mitt is fading fast -- his campaign just doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

Yeah, but the Catholics are not listed as a *cult group* in the “Kingdom of the Cults” —

Walter Martin was an ignorant man. Why do you let him do your thinking for you?
We have had the definition of a “cult” posted several times on FR. The first requirement, according to this definition, is that they do not teach we are saved by works, only grace.
That definition therefore indicates that the Catholics are a cult.
I don’t think the Evangelicals can define what a Christian and a cult is. There are so many differences in Christianity, every time you try to make a definition you leave someone out you don’t want to leave out.

Why don’t you just stop trying to draw circles so you can be inside and someone else outside. It is childish game.

Y’all (the Mormons) had him speaking over at the Mormon Tabernacle not too long ago....

Which should tell you something about the tolerance of Mormons.

with large numbers of Hillery supporters registering as Republicans to vote for Huckabee.

I don't think the number of Republican voters compared to the number of Democrat voters bears this theory out.

You said — “Mormons don’t claim they teach the same thing.”

Well, you could have fooled a lot of people out there, listening to their propaganda ads on TV and elsewhere... LOL

But, you’re right, they don’t teach the same thing at all. They teach totally non-Christian doctrines. Any Christian who hears that Satan is Jesus’ spirit brother will know that — of course, if they don’t die laughing first...

Oh, and I read the article..., I knew it was the same type of lying and whining that I’ve hear before in regards to their theology claims... (supposed to be “Christian”.... LOL).

The author of the article starts his whining when he says — “pejoratively called ‘Mormons’ “. That’s been a shorthand method for the name of their church so everyone doesn’t get cramps on the tongue for saying the longer name. I mean, you have to reserve five minutes if you give the proper name.

We really know this guy is getting on his “high horse” when he starts spouting off like this — “These are the same people who shot, raped, killed and mobbed my ancestors out of Missouri and convinced that governor to sign an extermination order against Mormons.”

Oh please..., going around with about ten wives in tow, 100 kids and looking through peeping stones, translating golden plates with Egyptian hieroglyphics on them is liable to get anyone into trouble...

Then he gets up to his highest point and he hollers — “No Republican will win 2008 without us.”

Well, join the crowd, because no Republican will win without the Evangelicals. LOL...

Then he pulls the “Hitler card”... he says what if Huckabee was attacking the Jews...

Well, I can tell you that at least Huckabee knows that the Jews have the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and not some made up god like the Mormons have, where he’s some man in the past who somehow progressed to be a god, in his own right.

I wonder how the Jews think about that one — for God... LOL..

This guy is eaten up with his own Mormon propaganda, simultaneously trying to get others to believe that they are Christian in their teachings and doctrines, while at the same time knowing that they are not...

It must be difficult to lead a duplicitous life...

Star Traveler

The agenda is not bad. But it's not Mitt Romney's agenda, even if you believe a word he says.

More lies from the Romney camp aren't gonna get him the nomination, kid. Your desperation is pretty sad to see, though. Why people would tie up their hopes with a flip-flopping Massachusetts millionaire mystifies me. If you're gonna betray your principles, you might as least win something, not get stomped by an unremarkable governor with no money.

You said — “You kind have done more harm in hindering the work of God on earth than any other religion faith!”

It’s the non-Christian cult groups that have done the most hindering in the work of God.

If the Mormons would ever own up to their radically different doctrines and teacahings from Christianity — maybe some people could respect them more. But to keep lying and lying about those doctrines being the same as the basic, historic and foundational Christian teachings and doctrines is just too much lying...

You said — “Walter Martin was an ignorant man. Why do you let him do your thinking for you?”

Ummmm..., you had better get into the 21st Century... You’re talking about Ravi Zacharias. He’s the same person that the Mormons invited over to their Mormon Tabernacle, by invitation. He’s very clear in that book that the Mormons are a cult. He’s the one who is in charge of that book now...

You didn’t reference that book then, if you think it said they were a cult. It doesn’t. It’s considered the authoritative work on the cults for the Christian Church. If you’re going by someone else’s definitions, then you’re probably using someone’s personal opinion, instead of agreed-upon scholarly work....

Study up a bit before you comment on that information... LOL...

You said — “Define the word “Cult” in one sentence.”

Well, if you had been reading the other comments, you would have come across it already. It’s any group that denies any or all of the basic, historic and foundational doctrines of Christianity, which all the Christian churches hold in common.

Pretty simple, actually...

You thought that cliched line was “the “take home line” ??
O - kayyy.

Personally, I thought his Romney and Hillary lines were far more original and funny, but whatever.... I was a little disappointed that Howie didn’t say much about the slimy Huckabee and his use of Christianity as a political gimmick. But then, this is only the beginning of the campaign season!

Cheers!
