I am trying to hook a phone line into my DirecTV TIVO box. I have no phone plug in that room or the two adjoining rooms. I don't want to run a wire open from the back rooms to the TIVO box.
Is there such a thing as a wireless phone plug. Anyone recommend a fix?
Your reply: "I dont use a phone with my DirecTV TIVO box."
So your suggestion is to tell puepleraine not to hook up a phone line because you didn't?
No, in case he didn’t know it was not necessary to operate the system, which DirecTV won’t tell you. Their instructions and installers tell you “IT MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE PHONE LINE AT ALL TIMES!” If you don’t watch PPV, which I don’t, phone connection is unnecessary. Even if you do want to watch PPV, they have a 1-800 number to call to order. I don’t trust DirecTV or the cable company...........
Whether you like or trust Direct TV was not the point.
Yes it will. I have a linksys wired ethernet adapter. I believe i remember wireless also would work..if not then just use a wireless bridge. There’s more info on google.
I have DISH - so not sure, can your dvr’s each handle a wireless modem and have an address like Tivo? then its just a configuration issue. You might have to cable one to the other which I understand defeats the issue. Tivo has a pretty impressive Q&A area for customers, maybe Direct has some advice.
That too!
