For those of you who think RINO = DEM, please check the report cards on immigration

For those who think that politician's promises mean anything, please check the three-layer fence erected on the border.

Exactly. We can only imagine what it was like for that woman, yes, a WOMAN, to have voted in the first election, in her country, in over 30 years-—probably the first in her lifetime.

Voting is just not a right I chose to relinquish, voluntarily or otherwise.

You’re going to have a hard time convincing us that putting in “just any” republican is better than any democrat. I’ve seen what “just any” republican can do in eight years, and I’m having none of it this time around.

Amen Brother

If a Democrat gets elected, the COUNTRY will be moved irretrievably leftward for two generations.

True.

Absolutely true, beyond shadow of doubt.

And, very persuasive -- until one considers the REST of the story, namely, "If a Republican gets elected, the COUNTRY will be moved irretrievably leftward for two generations."

I will never vote for:

1. Rudy
2. Romney
3. Huckabee
4. McCain
5. Paul

Period. There is NO persuading me otherwise.

"Actually, I think we’ve done a good job in Iraq."

I agree! I was referring to Iran as being the enemy's source of will, supply and so forth. Granted, there's a lot more involved in the bigger picture over there, but time hasn't been on our side for a few months and won't be in the coming years, IMO.

We need to go to the strongest source of enemy supply, training and morale, and defeat him. He must be beaten until he has no more will to fight. He must be denazified, until all of his local leaders, teachers and writers have no will to hate.

But oil would go up in the process.

Bingo.

If we'd gone down the path you describe, the repercussions would have been staggering. Really bad stuff. Oil would have jumped up in price significantly. Hell, it might even have hit $40 or $50 a barrel!

Thank heavens we've been spared that scenario!

I will vote Republican even if the nominee is Rudy. Or McLame. Or the Huckster. Those choices would suck for thorough conservatives

As long as people line up with defeatist proclaimations like that, there's NO surprise as to what kind of candidates we'll get.

Tell me, when you walk down the street in a bad neighborhood late at night, do you shout out, "If anyone comes to mug me, he can have all my money!"

If you do, one thing is certain: You're gonna get mugged!

Likewise, when you tell the Party Hacks that you'll toss your vote for any ol' POS they cough up, so long as he's got an "R" after his name, well... let's just say your chances of getting a "quality candidate" just went straight to hell.

Word of advice: NEVER quit your job to become a horse-trader! LOL!

Pinch me, this has got to be a dream. It's TOO surreal for words!

I urge you to consider this. Otherwise, we could face four to eight years of a Jimmy Carter, who made us impotent when facing down Islamic facists in Iran. Or Lyndon Johnson, who weakened us in Southeast Asia and expanded the government's reach into our lives and pocketbooks.

Um, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but exactly what do you think THESE eight years have been?

Dubya makes LBJ look like a piker!

Heh! ...good one! On Iran and oil prices, imagine where prices will go after an announcement or other surprise revealing that Iran has nukes. Iran has also promised nuclear “technologies” to Syria, Sudan, the Saudis and probably others.

Personally, I almost look forward to oil going to $200 or so. ...maybe even rationing again. Maybe it will straighten us all out and help us to find a will to fight. Freight fuel prices from that will virtually put a stop to unnecessary imports and remove incentives to appease the enemy. ...painful lessons for us all, though.

Call me cynical, but I think that if push ever came to shove, we'd not merely "appease" the enemy -- we'd cave to the enemy.

If ever The Caliphate were to issue us terms of surrender, and tell us what they would do to us if we refused their generous offer (i.e., outright dhimmitude etc.), we'd bark and bluster -- for just long enough for "our leaders" to pack their bags and come up with a "plausible" way to break the news to us. Then, we'd cave.

Remember, at least some analysts in the CIA have for some time been of the belief that there are tactical nukes already deployed within the continental USA. A credible threat is definitely within the realm of possibility -- especially if "coordinated" with our Chinese "friends."

This crap in the gulf over the weekend really gives me the creeps. Last I heard we'd floated a major percentage of our naval forces up that way, and it would be trivial for Iran to block the narrow shipping lanes in the Straits. What were they thinking when they ordered those ships up there? Talk about boxed-in if the balloon goes up!

Gee, I wonder what China might like to do, if they knew that we were trapped in the gulf, unable to get out for the forseeable future?

So what is your solution? Allowing a Democrat to get the WH? And how is that going to help the conservative cause? I’m not trying to be being a smart @$$. I really want to know.

Doughty, is Harriet Meyers Chief Justice? That would be a “No”. Why? Because we had someone in the White House that at least listened when his party went ballistic. Do you think you will get the same consideration from a Clinton or Obama?

My biggest concern still has to be the WOT. Imagine the very worst outcome possible and that’s probably better than what we will have if a Dem wins the White House. Our military folks have had an uncertain enough time just with Pelosi and Reid in charge, now imagine these two losers with a Dem president.

I’m sorry, man, conservative principals (and I was a conservative before they even had a name!) are a wonderful thing, but I refuse to worry, every day, about some American city/cities falling victim to an Islamofacist’s nuke. The federal government’s primary responsibility, as far as I’m concerned, is to protect me, my family, my community, etc., and I don’t see any dim lib Dems that are willing to do so. All but one of the Republican candidates seem to take this responsibility seriously, even the ones you term RINOs.

Don’t take this to mean I’m giving up! I’ll be in there pitching, doing the same things I’ve done for over 50 years during campaigns—working phone banks, going door to door, on and on, ad infinitum........but IF my guy loses, I’ll vote for the Republican candidate because he’s still better than a Democrat. Politics is usually a matter of comparatives, and not of absolutes. I haven’t met my perfect conservative candidate yet, but I’m still looking!

If some “corporate nuckleheads” (heh) want unity and strength in our Party, they should put their pride down for a few days and consider talking about specific details with Duncan Hunter. Most of them would probably be pleasantly surprised.

On international trade, we’re all about to go through some great and difficult transitions. There’s no sense in making the changes unnecessarily harder for us all by bullheadedly trying to resist those changes without planning in advance for surviving and capitalizing on them. Trying to run the whole show through an administration won’t work well in the coming years. We need to elect an objective, experienced man who is willing to do the job without interference from special interests (some of which business interests do collide with each other).

I vote each and every time the polls are open.

Off all the people on the ballot I pick the one that is the best match to my values - Not the perfect one.

At least we’ll be able to say we tried when the silly stuff starts.

I’ve not heard anyone express support for Rudy. Rudy is not doing well even in the places he was expected to, so there is probably little danger he will be nominated. Why are you using him as an example? He’s not the only Republican candidate. I’ve only heard few express support for Huckabee. Who do you think will be Republican nominee?

There is no talking to this crew...they have slipped over the edge and no longer dwell in the “reality motel”

Actually, we haven't slipped anywhere. We're still in the same spot, watching the Republican Party morph into a libfest.

All the BS on the planet does not change the fact that the continuing shift to the left (you know, the tactic that won Congress in '06--for the Democrats) has gone too far.

From an idealogical standpoint, I have not left the Republican Party, it has left me.
