My sister has a 1 yearold son. She is also a Marine reservist instructor pilot.
All y’all running down pregnant marines, grow up. It is not that big a deal for a Marine to hold down a desk job for a year for medical reasons.
You would be absolutely AMAZED at the number of non-deployable servicemembers at any given moment. A very large percentage of those are pregnancy-related. Very tough to deploy a unit when key staff still hold that position but cannot be deployed. I’ve seen entire S-1 and S-2 staff sections that couldn’t go to war because of pregnancies.
Women get pregnant, but pregnant servicemembers should not be allowed to retain a deployable billet.
Excuse me dear one...I didn’t “run down” any Marine.
No one on FR should run down our military. And BTW....I am a supporter of our soldiers in every way. ;-)
But saying pregnant and Marine is just sort of opposite one another.
I’m not going to argue about it though.....;-)
Also...tell your sister thank you for her service to America!!! ;-)
Not running down preggers Mari9nes..but here’s a question..She’s not married...enlisted in June 2007..so if she gets pregnant during her initial hitch, why not just separate her from the service?
I do not think this Marine was married.
