'Tell me again what have they done?' (Endorses Hunter)
NewsByUs ^ | 1/10/08 | Carolyn Hileman

Everyone has the personal favorites in this election, and there is a lot of talk going on about what they will do, not a bunch about what they have done. I like Duncan Hunter simply because this man can point to his past record and say been there done that, so tell me again what have they done? Duncan Hunter was responsible for building a fence along the Mexico and US border in San Diego, cutting smuggling of people and drugs by over 90%, now tell me again what have they done?

Duncan Hunter served with the 173rd Airborne and the 75th Army rangers in Vietnam, his Father a Marine in the South Pacific during WWII, and now his oldest son is an Iraq war veteran with two tours of duty as a Marine, Tell me again what have they done? This man is pro life, pro military and pro America, so tell me again what have they done?

Oh yes, I remember now, John McCain the favorite in New Hampshire tried to give amnesty to 12 – 20 million illegal immigrants, called us names like nativists and racist, can’t imagine why I just do not want to vote that man. Mitt I am sorry but the only thing I remember about you is that you railed against illegal immigration while having an illegal working in your yard and only fired the company he worked for after the debate where illegal immigration was center stage, come one now surely you know better than to think I would vote for him. To be honest up until I decided to check out Duncan Hunter I did not care much for any of the conservative candidates, Thompson who has a pro life stance is against charging the mother or doctor after an abortion if it becomes illegal, Rudy says that being in our country illegally shouldn’t be illegal because we can’t prosecute them all and either did not know that New York was a sanctuary city on 9/11 or is lying either choice doesn’t look very good for him.

I am not going to say anything more about Ron Paul except that I cannot in good conscience vote for that man, by they way I have enough Ron Paul people emailing me to try and change my mind, it isn’t going to work simply because I do not believe that anyone in our government masterminded 9/11 so save your fingers. The simple fact of the matter is I can look at my candidates record and see what he has done, I don’t have to put my hopes in what he or she may do if they get elected, so tell me again what have they done….

. . . I do not believe that anyone in our government masterminded 9/11 . . .

Neither does Ron Paul. People who try to paint him with that brush would make good conspiracy theorists themselves. That said, Hunter is an excellent candidate.

True, he has certainly denied that allegation many times. Yet he continues to hang around with the idiots who believe it.

That’s not how it’s going down, pissant. Understand, this is a parallel race, not a vertical one. There are two alliances that have been made: Thompson-Romney, and McCain-Huckabee. Giuliani is the odd man out, and he’s trying for an outright win on his own.

Hunter will give his delegate(s) to Huckabee. Both are evangelical with a strong influence of religion in their politics. Both have pro-life as a core issue. Both are trade protectionists, and Huckabee is now coming out hard against immigration, despite his long record of being pro-illegal.

Hunter’s delegate(s) will end up in the hands of John McCain because Huckabee is going to give his delegates to McCain in exchange for the VP slot. That’s their brokered deal. The only way to stop it is for Romney to stay ahead of McCain and for Huckabee to collapse to Thompson at the last minute. And still Thompson-Romney alone must have enough delegates together to reach 50%, because I believe Giuliani will endorse McCain-Huckabee if both coalitions still come up short. The only delegates left are the unpledged RNC members, and they could go anywhere. Will RNC stand for “RINO nominating committee” and go for “the next in line” McCain, or will they step in to nominate the true movement conservative, Fred Thompson?

Either way, a vote for Hunter is a vote for Huckabee is a vote for John McCain.

I disagree, because Huckabee has come out now as the strongest anti-immigration candidate

McCain is for Amnesty:
ROMNEY: I don’t describe your plan as amnesty in my ad. I don’t call it amnesty.
What I say is — and you just described what most people would say is a form of amnesty. Yes, they pay $5,000, their background is checked, they have to learn English.
But your view is everybody who’s come here illegally today, other than criminals, would be allowed — when they speak English and get $5,000 payment and they get a background check, they’re allowed to stay forever.
MCCAIN: Look, I don’t...
ROMNEY: That’s your plan, and that plan, in my view, is not appropriate.
Those people should be invited to get in line outside the country with everybody else who wants to come here, but they should not be given a special right to stay here...
MCCAIN: There is no special right associated with my plan.
ROMNEY: ... for the rest of their lives.
MCCAIN: I said should they should not be in any way rewarded for illegal behavior.
ROMNEY: Are they sent home?
MCCAIN: They have to get in line behind everybody else.
ROMNEY: Are they sent home? Are they sent home?
MCCAIN: Some of them are, some of them are not depending on their situation.
ROMNEY: The last bill you put forward...
MCCAIN: If a woman who has been here for eight years...
ROMNEY: I’m sorry — the last bill...
MCCAIN: ... and has a son fighting in Iraq...
ROMNEY: Senator, the last bill you put forward...
MCCAIN: ... I’m not interesting in calling her up, calling up her son and telling I’m deporting his grandmother.

That is entirely possible. But it is also entirely possible that we have no clue what is going to happen and who is going to be left standing come August.

“Either way, a vote for Hunter is a vote for Huckabee is a vote for John McCain.”

I hate these stupid sayings.

“A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush.”
“A vote for the Constitution candidate is a vote for Kerry.”

Enough of that junk. A vote for Duncan Hunter is a vote for Duncan Hunter, the only candidate in the race that has actually DONE something about securing the border.

I’ve been listening to Hannity and have to give him credit for having Thompson on for an hour BUT, his constant insistence that FAUX is going to have ALL the candidates at the debate tonight I think is just a stab at us Duncan Hunter supporters.

Or rather they gravitate toward him. For whatever reason there is concurrence WRT other issues, too.

Paul is blunt in attributing 9/11 to blowback from our foreign policy while at the same time desirous of punishing those who took things into their own hands and attacked us. Some folks don’t like to hear the former. For them it’s “blame America never” with nary a thought for responsibility in regard to our conduct in relation to other peoples and cultures.

I e-mailed Hannity yesterday, saying I was more disappointed in him than Fox News. FNC is just a typical media new station, but Sean Hannity is supposed to be a promoter of conservative values, and as a result, should be promoting, or at least MENTIONING, the real conservatives in the Presidential primary.

You would be right if it was the general election.
However, we are directing delegates to the GOP convention instead on how to vote. When the guy they have been directed to vote for endorses another candidate, that other candidate gets the delegates’ votes. So quite literally, a vote for Duncan Hunter is a vote for Mike Huckabee, because Hunter is going to endorse Huckabee. And a vote for Huckabee (or Hunter by proxy) is a vote for John McCain, because Huckabee is going to direct his delegates to vote for John McCain who will in turn choose Huckabee as his running mate.

So I repeat:
A VOTE FOR HUNTER IS A VOTE FOR HUCKABEE IS A VOTE FOR JOHN MCCAIN

That is true. But why aren’t Germans and japs and vietnamese and panamanians and chileans and italians and serbians and kuwaitis etc etc giving us blowback like AQ?

That’s right, we are a force for good in the world. Something Paul can’t fathom.

And yet the party in its infinite wisdom decrees that we can’t hear him in tonight’s debate. What a crock.

Everybody talks about the electability of their candidate but none is able to prove it till they’re the only nominee. I say they should all get a trial by fire to separate the presidents from the posers.

It really bites when we end up with one nominee and only then discover he turns into pudding at the first sight of a democrat.

As everyone knows, Hunter is not going to be the nominee.

Speak for yourself.

simply taking votes from someone else like Thompson?

Like I'm supposed to cry for a Bakerite moderate like Thompson? Please. Anything other than a Reagan Conservative is going to sell us down the river.

Go for Broke. Vote Conservative.

Dan the knuckleheads! Full speed ahead!

I’d be more concerned about Fred jumoping ship and endorsing McCain than Hunter ever helping Amnesty McCain in any way.

Bump that!

It’s unbelievable that a person like Ron Paul is allowed to participate in the so called debates while someone like Duncan Hunter is excluded. I felt that way before this evenings telecast. After watching that embarrassing performance by Paul, it’s even more unbelievable.

Are you comfortable knowing that ultimately, your vote for Hunter will be going to help nominate John McCain — a McCain-Huckabee ticket specifically — either through an actual transfer of delegates, or by simply taking votes from someone else like Thompson?

IMO, you're making a lot of assumptions.

This is what *I* assume: God is in control of the future of this country. He very well may hand the nomination over to Duncan Hunter in a brokered convention. Or He may not. Only time will tell.
