Go for $10 trillion. That would transfer all the private debt to public debt and we know the country itself is immune to such things as bankruptcy.

"package of tax breaks expected to cost $250 billion"

Funny when its a tax cut its a "cost", but when Chuck Schumer proposes increasing food stamps and welfare programs by 170 billion its a "stimulus". My guess is that congress will propose more spending and tax cuts, but that the republicans will agree to drop any tax cuts in order to "get something done".

He would also permanently reduce the corporate tax rate to 20 percent from 35 percent over two years and allow businesses to depreciate the value of new equipment purchases faster.

Excellent. Another good move by Mitt Romney.

I think Romney is on the right track. One thing I have always scratched my head over is paying taxes on saving interest. Romney is in favor of abolishing that crazy thing.

I’m in favor of any stimulus package being permanent.

How amny places in the U.S. do we have that prints money? I think only one but I could be rong, it’s happened before.

I propose that we build 100 more money printing joints, spread them out over the country. Think of all the construction jobs created and all the employees that it would take to print all that money and the truck drivers to haul it around. - think three shifts printing 24/7/365.

I’m sending my plan to Romney right away before Hillary gets a chance to steal it.

Can you top this. Somebody is about to go ‘all in’.

But Stimulus is the wrong horse, the horse to stop has already left the gate riding under the colors of FreeTrade. People want ‘those good paying trade’ jobs, not handouts.

“Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney called on Friday for a package of tax breaks expected to cost $250 billion”

More nitwit Liberal-speak from the MSM, implying that tax breaks “cost” anything, as if it were all the gummint money to begin with, and when we get to “have” some it “costs” the “people”. That type of arrogant assumption just totally frosts me.

I’m no Mitt fan (go FRed!), but um, what the MSM is describing are tax cuts. We still like tax cuts on FR, right?

Romney’s package could actually help keep jobs in the USA. My guess would be that would matter more than anything else.

Our very high corporate tax rate is one major thing that causes companies to locate manufacturing outside of the USA.

Romney proposes $250 bln economic stimulus package

Should read "Romney proposes stealing $250 billion from taxpayers to give to deadbeats to buy their votes". This guy is a liberal. Why does he have an "R" next to his name?

Pay no attention to the RAT or WILARD connection.

Romney has good hair, is a better liar than Bill Klintoon and has only massacred the unborn as of yet.

,i>Romney plans to propose permanently reducing the rate for the lowest income tax bracket to 7.5 percent from 10 percent, retroactive to 2007, eliminating Social Security payroll taxes for workers over 65 and eliminating capital gains and dividend taxes on households earning under $200,000 a year, CNBC said on its Web site.

Selective tax cuts. What needs to be proposed is a flat tax rate for ALL earnings. Not this selective socialist scheme. If the base of the democRAT party's bracket is 7.5%, then everybody's bracket should be 7.5%.

Give away your own money, Mitt.

From the article:

. . . Mitt Romney called on Friday for a package of tax breaks expected to cost $250 billion . . .
He wants to give us back our own money.
