Can’t wait to see Ron go third party. /s
This should be good enough to win the White House for Hillary no matter what anyone else does.
It seems freedom is still a tiny bit popular with some, then.
Heck yeah man! I can't wait to vote for 3rd Party Ron Paul!
Unfortunately, it appears New Mexico has the last primary in the nation (tied with South Dakota), on June 3rd. I fear the nominee will long since have been determined before anyone in NM gets to vote on the matter.
Why did Ron Paul file for re-election to his House seat?
Possible, he did before.
Both the Constitution Party and the Libertarian Party have invited him to run for their nominations.
Must be another 'moonbat' or 'truther'.
Well, when he can’t get the nomination in the RP, don’t count it out. That’s the next thud to hit the floor IMO.
I was actually being serious. I agree with you. It wouldn’t be that hard, and I think he wants it bad enough.
“Who Is Ron Paul?” posters are on phone polls here in PA, but in places like Montana and Alaska (February 5th states) I see support for Paul. Delegates, I dont know.
He got four delegates in Nevada on Saturday.
He should talk more about less government and less about the “war” unless he wants to advocate winning it.
For now he’s off my radar screen and just as unacceptable as McCain.
A lot of what he says about government being too big and people being less free is right. but I think he’s the wrong messenger.
Goldwater Jr. would make a better messenger than Ron Paul.
Johnson is a true friend of liberty!
His support for Dr. Paul is great news.
Ron Paul gets my vote too.
But how many states would ban Ron Paul from running as an independent after running in the Republican primary? Texas has a sore loser law that prohibits primary losers from running again in the general election for another party.
I'd say 'better messenger', but you are essentially correct.
It is the message that is exciting people, not so much the messenger.
No, he won't run as an independent, he has ruled that out specifically.
Well he sure as hell isn't going to get the Repulican nomination nor is he going to to have enough delegates to have any say on whom the convention nominates. He won't have the ability screw up the convention the way Buchanan did at the 1992 Republican Convention in Houston.
He said he was impressed with the way RP stood up to Hillary and McCain (who often vote the same way). He makes a lot of money in the computer sector, owns his own company, in fact.
These are the folks pushing RP, in my opinion. In the past, the Libertarian message has only gotten 2% to 5% at best.
I'm for anything that gets the message out.
With little name recognition Paul marches on with his supporters Others with the big names are packing their bags and folding tents.
Come on over to the Revolution.
David Duke is another Ron Paul supporter. Does anyone know why?
David Duke has supported lots of republicans including GW. He supported Kerry in 04. BFD.
Oh wait, wrong Gary Johnson.
Watched the movie, gross but funnier than heck!
I think they like that Ron Paul will remove all economic and military support for Israel. Let it rise or fall on its own, they say. If it is destroyed, so be it . .
All that time, money and hopes in Florida... five percent.
Hmm, yes, quite possibly.
Israel would be the last country I would cut aid from. Just cutting back on foreign aid would be a step in the right direction.
Why is it that my two favorite foreign nations, Israel and Taiwan, are both banned from having seats in the U.N.
ps. are you who I think you are???
Yes, I am , indeed.
Actually, Israel is in the United Nations. Taiwan is not.
My hat is off to you, sir. You have the courage of your convictions!
Pat Buchanan did not 'screw up' the 1992 convention.
I was there as a delegate.
What lost it for elder Bush was his infamous 'read my lips' speech that he reneged on.
That opened the door for a Perot candidacy, which 'screwed up' the election that year, not the Buchanan candidacy.
If the president had not been so adamant about holding the line on tax increases and then flip-flopping, there would have been no Bubba Klinton in the White House.
Garry Johnson & Goldwater Jr. both illegl drug folks, no wonder they support tweeker supporter L Ron Paul
Yeah, because we should all toe the party line and vote for McCain/Huckabee/Romney, right.
If either one of these clowns is nominated, I will ENCOURAGE Dr. Paul to run 3rd party.
All of the other GOP candidates are going broke and they don't have money for Super Duper Tuesday ad buys. And they don't have the grassroots that Paul has.
So I wouldn't count Paul out yet. Even Tim Russert said Paul will be in up through the convention. And he'll have his seat at the table and his moment in the sun even if he's not nominated. And that's what's really important.
How’s Hunter’s fundraising going?
I didn’t know that about either man, but that’s a big problem for me. I’m sorry to hear it about Goldwater. I haven’t been a big political fan of his, but I did like the guy.
LOL, I hear ya. I just recognize that even if Fred were to pull it out, then nominate Hunter as his VP, Paul would take them down from a third party position.
He could also short circuit any message we were trying to send also.
The third party thud is what I was talking about. You may have understood that.
I’m not convinced Paul will make it to the convention, but I am interested to know where he’s getting all the money it takes to run his campaign.
I don’t know many Republicans who would support him after his stance on the war. That makes me think Soros. Wouldn’t that be a fine how do you do.
How is L Ron Paul’s chance to be Prez
or does he get a post in Hillary’s adm
Go to his website and you can see where the money is coming from, real-time. It comes from tens of thousands of individual doners, like me.
A typical politician, like all of the other presidential candidates, gets a lot of money from special interests. These "donations" are really payment for their future votes. Since Dr. Paul's votes are not for sale, he gets almost no money from lobbyists and other special interest groups.
This Soros thing is pretty ridiculous... Soros is a corrupt globalist. The last person on earth he'd want to see as president is Ron Paul. Soros buys and sells people - nothing scares someone like that more than an individual that can't be bought.
Ron Paul will never be president, I don’t care if you pump in $10 gazillion bucks. What he will do is siphen off fifteen to twenty percent of the vote from the republican nominee this November. And in light of Fred pulling out, I couldn’t care less.
Never? The fix is in?
Or did you mean it's highly unlikely that he'll be prez? With that, I agree - I don't this country is, collectively, smart enough to elect Dr. Paul president. But if he doesn't make it, no one will say it was due to lack of effort on my part.
What he will do is siphen off fifteen to twenty percent of the vote from the republican nominee this November
Good - none of the rest are deserving of the office anyway. And whatever percentage he gets, I will proudly be part of it.
That’s okay. I know there are a lot of folks that think along those lines. I’m not one of them and realize thankfully that there aren’t enough people who do to put him in office.
As soon as the primaries are over, it will be interesting to see how much actual support has come from the right side of the isle and how much has come from people who liked his ideas on Iraq from another party.
Actually, from what I understand, he was reluctantly "drafted" by supporters to run for prez, and only agreed to do so in order to get some of his ideas, thoughts and beliefs exposure on the national stage. He never thought he'd do as well as he has, and I guess he wanted another term or two in the House.
My wife and I will probably vote of Paul also.
