Anyone who would assault the emotions of a grieving family is a slimeball. I’m happy that there were people who could shield the family from those scumbags but it shouldn’t be necessary.

They should be sued for emotional distress. 1) that will keep them in court and in meetings with lawyers, instead of at funerals 2) it will pile on legal bills and 3) a judgement against them will keep them, and others like them, away in the future.

Wearing a head brace, Daniel Griffin Jr. stood in front of friends and relatives filling a Northeast Baltimore church yesterday to remember his wife, Bethany, and four children and stepchildren killed in an Ohio highway collision that police say was caused by a drunken driver.

Three members of the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church, known for protests at military funerals, were demonstrating about a block from the church in the 7000 block of Harford Road.

The demonstrators said the deaths are God's retaliation against the community for the $11 million award by a jury in Baltimore against the Kansas group.

When I heard about this protest on the radio about this grieving family from my old neighborhood, I very seriously considered leaving work early to go smash some heads of these aberrant a-holes and I wish I would had. I heard they were holding signs saying “Thank God for Drunk Drivers”. They also said that the family deserved to die because the parents had divorced and re-married. I didn’t know this family personally but I know people who do know them and said they were very good people and a very close and religious family.

These Westboro “people” and I use the term “people” very loosely, are very seriously disturbed and they need to be confronted and stopped by good minded people where ever possible.

The next time I hear that these imbeciles are any where in driving distance from me, I’ll be there to protect the families of the grieving who ever they are, and send these evil, vile, twisted cultists back to the black pit of Hell where they belong.

The PGR is to given a great deal of credit. They were well organized and showed up with flags in hand. The flag bearers lined up in front of the scum and really obstructed the view. It was awesome.
