American history is not all just glory and pride LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Potomac News Sunday, January 27, 2008

Many believe that American history is all about glory and pride, but the government has to sugarcoat and delete the shameful events out of our children's history books for that to be believable. But just because it's not in their biased schoolbooks doesn't mean it didn't happen. Slavery has been a necessity since America was founded. Africans were stolen from their homes and forced to work for free. Today, according to U.S. law, slavery is abolished, but those jobs still need to be filled and modern day slavery continues. Hispanics are willing to fill that void, but many refuse to recognize their hard work. Most of those fruits you eat have to be handpicked, so wash it well because an illegal Mexican most likely picked it.

I understand not everybody sees the things I do, since many people block out the truth. American history is not up to anybody to believe it for it to be true. Some don't believe that Americans invaded Mexican land. The Mexican government invited Americans to settle in Texas. Many appreciated the opportunity, while others took Mexico's kindness for weakness and resorted to violence. They ask to remember the Alamo, but remember that Mexico won that battle.

The U.S. took Mexican land (modern day California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Wyoming) and gave Mexico another low blow. Without the Compromise of 1850, the U.S. wouldn't be half of what it is today.

To get statistics correct, first figure out how many "illegals" receive services. Even the most educated guesses from Harvard are still only estimates. Most illegal immigrants aren't risking leaving their families and lives to come be unemployed. Nothing is handed to us and refusing to give "illegals" services just makes them have to work harder. Most illegal immigrants ask for nothing else than a chance to work.

I ask how they say Mexicans don't make the U.S. money, since tax is deducted from their paychecks, too. The U.S. government still receives that money. Many Americans have seized the opportunity and have made countless dollars by choosing Mexican labor.

We prefer to give the lazy American living off unemployment checks that doesn't file taxes preference over a hard working, tax paying illegal. It's like being against abortion, but being in favor of the death penalty. That's your hypocritical logic, Mr. Lauer, and I do not agree with you, either.

Hispanics are willing to sneak into this country illegally to fill that void, but  and many refuse to recognize their hard work because one thing has nothing to do with the other.

There you go, Ruben. I did the reasoning for you that you didn't want to do.

Ruben’s letter is in response to this:

“This is in response to Ruben Pineda’s letter about Mexicans on Jan. 12. I cannot but disagree with his logic (and his history). Illegal Mexican’s are not helpful for the economy. A recent Harvard study said illegal immigrants cost the state of Arizona $1.4 billion in revenue last year! Can you imagine the number for all the rest of the states? Likely astronomical!

Breaking the law is breaking the law. If you don’t have permission to be here you should not be here. I’m curious why this is so hard for some people to grasp this simple concept?

An international flight over the Atlantic had engine problems, and the matter was so serious the pilot dropped to 10K feet and ordered that all loose items be pitched out the door.
They gained some altitude but then lost another engine. The pilot came back, explained that they had tossed everything and that if they didn’t `lose more weight’ they were going into the drink.
The passengers knew immediately what he meant, and a Brit stood up, went to the door, said “God Save the Queen!” and jumped. They gained a lttle altitude, but a few minutes later the captain informed them they were again descending.
Finally a Frenchman stood up, went to the door, yelled, “Viva La France!” and jumped.
They could see the cliffs but were falling again, and the captain’s voice on the intercom said, “One more brave sacrifice should get us safely on the landing strip.

A Texan immediately jumped up, collared a Mexican & tossed him out the door while shouting, “Remember the Alamo!”

Black Africans were sold into slavery by other black Africans. It is how one dealt with opposing tribes back then. Today, they just brutally slaughter each other.

And Mexico never “owned” anything in the far west. They were no more entitled to land occupied by Indians than we were entitled. We fought a war with Mexico over land and then in addition we paid for it.

Please note: by the time of Fort James/James Town in Virginia, and of the Pilgrims landing in Massachusetts Bay, Spain had established a huge empire through out central Mexico, Central America, nothern South America, and all of the Caribbean Sea areas. They governed by a highly centralized form of government using Royal Governors, a form of control not much different than the highly-centralized indigenous governments they replaced.

By the time of our Revolution against the British, huge stone Cathedrals and government structures had been or were being built throughout those areas. They, as an established empire, were much further along in infrastructure and power consolidation than the United States.

The reason we today are leaders in finance, technology, agriculture, and world politics, is because we haven’t in the past been dragged down by centralized government AND the backwards-looking attitudes of resentful indigenous populations.

Let Me Guess

Senor Pineda is an illegal trying to justify his law breaking existence here in the despicable slave owning United States.

He makes some statements about paying taxes but forgets to add that many emergency rooms and hospitals along the border are going broke trying to treat the uninsured illegals.

The state of California can no longer ignore the obvious that illegals are about to sink the the state in red ink.

I believe we need a workable program that allows Mexican workers to come and pick fruit and other jobs many Americans can not or will not do but at the same time they must return to their home country to renew their work permit.

Those companies and farmers should be required to furnish a medical plan, term life insurance, valid wage and pay taxes while the worker is here in the United States.

Any worker over staying his or her permit permit without legal permission would be deported and never allowed to came back and work on a temporary basis.

We would also do away with anchor babies and families accompanying the worker.

Just the opinion of a red state wannabe.

Slavery has been a necessity since America was founded. Africans were stolen from their homes and forced to work for free.

Incorrect. In the early years of the Virginia Colony, indentured servants (not slaves) were used. And, New England colonies did not make significant use of slaves. Lastly, Africans were usually stolen from their homes by...other Africans.

Most of those fruits you eat have to be handpicked, so wash it well because an illegal Mexican most likely picked it.

What exactly is the author insinuating here?

The U.S. took Mexican land (modern day California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Wyoming) and gave Mexico another low blow. Without the Compromise of 1850, the U.S. wouldn't be half of what it is today.

The reason that the United States is successful is due to education and a strong belief in the rule of law. Illegals piss all over the second belief in the name of "humanity." And, as the son of two legal immigrants who struggled here to scratch out a living, the arrogance of Mexican illegals is appalling and repugnant to me.

We prefer to give the lazy American living off unemployment checks that doesn't file taxes preference over a hard working, tax paying illegal.

The ends do not justify the means.

It's like being against abortion, but being in favor of the death penalty.

There is a major difference between abortion and the death penalty. Abortion involves terminating the innocent and denying them the ability to choose life. The death penalty is given to those who choose to violate the law and trample upon another's rights to life, liberty, and property.

Compromise of 1850 had nothing at all to do with the boundaries of the US. It involved only internal US sectional compromises over slavery and other issues.

Rueben has no clue about the rule of law, because there is no rule of law in Mexico. If he had any statistics about illegals using of publicly funded services, he would have included them. And finally, when the U.S. took over the Southwest, Texas and California, there were fewer than 75,000 Mexicans living in the entire area, and more likely, fewer than 50,000. There are probably that many Mexicans in Prince William County, Va. now. The old joke goes that the gringos stole the part of Mexico with all the good roads, schools and hospitals. Does anyone, including this pendejo, really believe that the Southwest, Texas and California would be anything other than a huge, disfunctional, Mexican hell hole, a la Tijuana, if it still belonged to Mexico?

Aren't illegals usually paid under the table? Since when do employers take tax withholding from under the table pay?

Also- the United States wasn't this hemisphere's 500 lb. military gorilla in the 1840s, as it is today.

Mexico was.

For my own part, I would just like to know at what point in the last few years did it suddenly become accepted understanding that the U.S. economy could not survive without “cheap labor?”

I believe Dr. Sowell made it clear in one of his books that economies (from ancient times to the present) that depend on “cheap labor” whether from slaves, serfs, lower castes, sharecroppers and chain gangs, etc. tend to be stagnant and backward.

The American South did not really come into it’s own economically until after the Civil Rights Era.

That dummy fails to mention that the U.S. Govt. paid the then Mexican government $15 million plus 10% interest for the territory. A handsome sum of money for the time.

In addition, the U.S. gave back all of the now Mexican territory that it had gained during the war.

I would say that Mexico came out of the loss pretty well a winner. That is even though during the succeeding century and a half it became a less than third world country.

More Americans killed by illegal aliens than Iraq war, study says

When you start digging into the numbers the only ones that can be sourced with the feds are the number of American murdered in 2005: 16692
I have seen federal numbers for illegals held in jail ranging from 19.3% to 27% of the federal prison population.

Here's a sampling of USA cities wanted for murder. What you'll see is that in big USA cities like LA or NYC most of the murderers are Hispanic. Unknown are the % of illegals. In smaller cities the FBI will post the nationalities of the murderers. About 25% of the most wanted are illegals wanted for murder. This number agrees with the percentage of illegals incarcerated in federal prisons. +-25%

Pictures of top 10 most wanted in LA. Up until recent stories about crime in LA posted by the LA Times--the pictures included the nationality of the murderers. They were all foreign nationals and mostly Mexican.

Wanted for Murder in New York City.

Chicago wanted for Murder

Philadelphia wanted for murder

San Francisco wanted for Murder

New Orleans wanted for Murder

Pictures of suspects wanted for murder in Washington DC

FBI USA 10 most wanted. (two of 10 are Mexican nationals)

There are currently no exact numbers on the number of Americans killed by illegals. Part of the reason is that the government deliberately obscures the number. I talked on the phone with the head of statistics for the US Bureau of Prisons. He said his office wasn't allowed to publish the number of illegal alien murderers. Rather they were forced to put legal and non legal residents in the same category. I talked to ICE. They put out detailed numbers on illegal child molestors. However, they put out nothing on illegal murderers.

Part of the reason for the silence on the matter is that there is evidence to suggest that most Americans being killed by illegals are black--as is the suggestion in this LA Times Article. Also this article from the LA Times. And here. This makes intuitive sense. We see stories regularly of drug gang killings in Mexico but we don't see those same stories in the USA. The reason we don't see those stories is not because its not happening. Rather we don't see the stories about illegals killing blacks because that kind of story is terribly politically incorrect. The populations being displaced in downtown sanctuary cities especially are American blacks. That means that their criminal elements would be pushed aside by Mexican gangs as well. That's also the story that the wanted for murder posters in all the major cities seems to suggest.

Nevertheless, the pattern of non reporting is starting to break. Discovery Channel has a series called Gangland that mentions ethnic cleasing of blacks by Mexican gangs

To look at other USA cities go here http://stlouis.fbi.gov/ and replace stlouis with the city you want.

All that said the true number of criminal aliens is far higher than is revealed by criminal aliens in prisons. Most are simply waived through the courts.DHS Secretary Chertoff, has been quoted as warning that two million people in this country illegally have committed serious crimes. See also here and here

Dear Mr. RUBEN PINEDA,

Really? Well, Mr. Reconquista, show me yours and I’ll show you mine.

Mexicans illegally in this country had no ancestors who lived in these United States. I’ve offered the challenge to hundreds of them. The handful of Mexicans who lived here when the US bought that land from Mexico left no descendants in Mexico, especially the southern area and Central America where most illegals now come from. NO, they became AMERICANS. Their progeny are citizens.

This country is sacred land to we NATIVE born citizens, most of us with long historical ancestry. We don’t take lightly being told we don’t belong here, but you invaders have the right.

I have family who pioneered, built and died defending this country, many were indigenous as you claim to be, buried in Massachusetts, New York, Washington DC, Virginia, Ohio, Missouri, Georgia, Arkansas,Tennessee, Oklahoma Indian Territory, Texas, Kansas, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, South Carolina, North Carolina, Utah. There are a couple buried in Mexico.

Now, show me yours. Where do your ancestors rest?

Know this, we will protect this sacred ground. There are millions more of us than you and you can’t have enough anchor babies to change it before my fellow Americans get enough of your “attitude”. Go back to the third world you wish to impose on us and take your dream of colonizing my country with you. The sooner the better.

A NATIVE American

What if 20 Million

Illegal Aliens Vacated America?
Read...if interested..and consider . . . . . .(your choice)
=============================

Just in case all the news on our "robust" economy isn't enough for you...

I found myself half-way through this piece beginning to seriously doubt the facts and figures.however, as you will see, the author lists his references at the end!

What if 20 Million Illegal Aliens Vacated America?

Tina Griego, journalist for the Denver Rocky Mountain News wrote a column titled, "Mexican Visitor's Lament" -- 10/25/07.

She interviewed Mexican journalist Evangelina Hernandez while visiting Denver last week. Hernandez said, "They (illegal aliens) pay rent, buy groceries, buy clothes...What Happens to your country's economy if 20 million people go away?" That's a good question - it deserves an answer.
Over 80 percent of Americans demand secured borders and illegal migration stopped. But what would happen if all 20 million or more vacated America?
The answers may surprise you!

In California
,
if 3.5 million illegal aliens moved back to Mexico, it would leave an extra $10.2 billion to spend on over-loaded school systems, bankrupt hospitals and overrun prisons. It would leave highways cleaner, safer and less congested. Everyone could understand one another as English became the dominant language again.

In Colorado, 500,000 illegal migrants, plus their 300,000 kids and grand-kids - would move back 'home', mostly to Mexico. That would save Coloradans an estimated $2 billion (other experts say $7 billion) annually in taxes that pay for schooling, medical, social-services and incarceration costs. It means 12,000 gang members would vanish out of Denver alone.

Colorado would save more than $20 million in prison costs, and the terror that those 7,300 alien criminals set upon local citizens. Denver Officer Don Young and hundreds of Colorado victims would not have suffered death, accidents, rapes and other crimes by illegals.

Denver Public Schools would not suffer a 67 percent drop-out/flunk-out rate because of thousands of illegal alien students speaking 41 different languages. At least 200,000 vehicles would vanish from our gridlocked cities in Colorado.

Denver's four percent unemployment rate would vanish as our working poor would gain jobs at a living wage.

In Florida, 1.5 million illegals would return the Sunshine State back to America, the rule of law, and English.

In Chicago, Illinois, 2.1 million illegals would free up hospitals, schools, prisons and highways for a safer, cleaner and more crime-free experience.

If 20 million illegal aliens returned 'home' --

If 20 million illegal aliens returned 'home', the U.S. Economy would return to the rule of law. Employers would hire legal American citizens at a living wage. Everyone would pay their fair share of taxes because they wouldn't be working off the books. That would result in an additional $401 Billion in IRS income taxes collected annually, and an equal amount for local, state and city coffers.

No more push '1' for Spanish or '2' for English. No more confusion in American schools that now must contend with over 100 languages that degrade the educational system for American kids. Our overcrowded schools would lose more than two million illegal alien kids at a cost of billions in ESL and free breakfasts and lunches.

We would lose 500,000 illegal criminal alien inmates at a cost of more than $1.6 billion annually. That includes 15,000 MS-13 gang members who distribute $130 billion in drugs annually would vacate our country.

America's economy is drained. Taxpayers are harmed. Employers get rich. Over $80 billion annually wouldn't return to the aliens' home countries by cash transfers Illegal migrants earned half that money untaxed, which further drains America's economy - which currently suffers an $8.7 trillion debt.

At least 400,000 anchor babies would not be born in our country, costing us $109 billion per year per cycle. At least 86 hospitals in California, Georgia and Florida would still be operating instead of being bankrupt out of existence because illegals pay nothing via the EMTOLA Act.

Americans wouldn't suffer thousands of TB and hepatitis cases rampant in our country-brought in by illegals unscreened at our borders.

Our cities would see 20 million less people driving, polluting and grid locking our cities. It would also put the 'progressives' on the horns of a dilemma; illegal aliens and their families cause 11 percent of our greenhouse gases.

Over one million of Mexico's poorest citizens now live inside and along our border from Brownsville, Texas to San Diego, California in what the New York Times called, "colonias" or new neighborhoods. Trouble is, those living areas resemble Bombay and Calcutta where grinding poverty, filth, diseases, drugs, crimes, no sanitation and worse. They live without sewage, clean water, streets, electricity, roads or any kind of sanitation.

The New York Times reported them to be America's new "Third World" inside our own country. Within 20 years, at their current growth rate, they expect 20 million residents of those colonias. (I've seen them personally in Texas and Arizona; it's sickening beyond anything you can imagine.) By enforcing our laws, we could repatriate them back to Mexico.

We should invite 20 million aliens to go home, fix their own countries and/or make a better life in Mexico. We already invite a million people into our country legally more than all other countries combined annually. We cannot and must not allow anarchy at our borders, more anarchy within our borders and growing lawlessness at every level in our nation. It's time to stand up for our country, our culture, our civilization and our way of life.

Interesting Statistics.  Here are 14 reasons illegal aliens should vacate America, and I hope they are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them:

        1. $11 billion to $22 billion dollars are spent each year on welfare to illegal aliens.
http://tinyurl.com/zob77

        2. $2.2 billion dollars are spent each year on food assistance
programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens.
http://www.cis.org/articles/2004/fiscalexec.html

        3. $2.5 billion dollars are spent each year on Medicaid for illegal
aliens.
http://www.cis.org/articles/2004/fiscalexec.html

        4. $12 billion dollars are spent each year on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English!  http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html  http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

        5. $17 billion dollars are spent each year for education for the American-
born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

        6. $3 Million Dollars PER DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

        7. 30% percent of all federal prison inmates are illegal aliens.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

        8. $90 billion dollars are spent each year on illegal aliens for welfare & social services by the American taxpayers.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0610/29/ldt.01.html

        9. $200 billion dollars per year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

        10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01.html

        11. During the year 2005, there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our southern border with as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from terrorist countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroine,
and marijuana crossed into the U.S. from the southern border.

” Here is a good read from Rodger D. McGrath, “Remember the Texas Revolution:”

Thank you! Some of my Cherokee ancestors were covering Sam Houston’s back side from the Mexicans invading. And yes, I said ‘invading’. Texans and other American Indians settled Texas because the Mexicans wouldn’t!

Does anyone, including this pendejo, really believe that the Southwest, Texas and California would be anything other than a huge, disfunctional, Mexican hell hole, a la Tijuana, if it still belonged to Mexico?

Exactly. I confront these guys with "In 1847, the land on each side of the border for hundreds of miles looked exactly the same. We turned our part into a generator of wealth and prosperity. What the Hell did you do with the land we let you keep?" That's when they resort to "Racist!" and walk off.

It wouldn't be any different today. There's a joke circulating that if Mexico took over all the states except North Dakota, in 10 years ND would have an illegal immigration problem.

Why don’t you send this to the newspaper in Manassas?

Today, according to U.S. law, slavery is abolished, but those jobs still need to be filled and modern day slavery continues. Hispanics are willing to fill that void, but many refuse to recognize their hard work. Most of those fruits you eat have to be handpicked, so wash it well because an illegal Mexican most likely picked it.

The availability of dirt-cheap illegal Mexican peasant labor is actually retarding advances in mechanization in agriculture that other countries are using, and in the long-run substantially hindering our productivity.

In other areas, like construction, illegals are crowding out native-born workers.

Yes, the price of lettuce and new construction is lower than would be the case without the cheap illegal labor force, but that's only because the total cost of the workforce has been shifted onto others.

The illegals pay little in taxes, send much of their earnings out of the country, and live in a welfare state where they are adding huge burdens to the cost of public schools, prisons (and the entire criminal justice system), health care (hospital emergency rooms must treat them even though they cannot pay, or cannot pay at the same rate Americans must pay). We all know that eventually the illegals will be given some form of amnesty and the eventual social security burden of this vast group of low-wage earners will ultimately be the final burden that sinks that program.

The biggest problem is that unlike past immigrant groups, the second and third generation are not graduating from high school and moving up the economic ladder, and since they are not as willing to clean hotel rooms or pick lettuce, we see increases in gang membership, single teenage mothers and large new additions to the underclass. And of course, businesses utilizing cheap illegal labor will need to import even more of it because the following generations do not want to do that work, thus the whole cycle spirals out of control, and larger and larger swaths of society will begin to resemble third-world societies, with a caste of well-educated elites and the native-born middle class becoming divided between those joining the elites in their gated communities and those pulled down into the lowest caste.

You’re welcome! LOL, your Cherokee ancestors chased mine out of the North Carolina frontier (along the Yadkin) and into the wilds of western Virginia in 1759!

Cool! LOL, that’s a switch. Sam Houston promised them the 3 counties they had settled for their alliance and protection. When Texas joined the Union, the Feds said...NO way!! Get out Injuns! My grgrfather fortunately had legal title to his plantation, Mt.Tabor and was allowed to stay, many of them buried in there.

the reason this simple concept of lawbreaking is so hard for them is that they have an agenda that is more important than logic.

The Mexicans revolted against Spain in 1821, whose King held legal title. So, the US stole what the Mexicans stole and held for only 27 years and the Spanish stole form the Aztecs and many other tribes, but they held it for 300 years. Of course, the Aztecs, according to legend, started up in New Mexico or Arizona somewhere, headed south until they saw an eagle eating a snake on a cactus at what is now Mexico City and built their holy city of Tenochtitlan. They then proceeded to subdue the surrounding tribes and send 20,000 of them at a time to Aztec heaven via human sacrifice.

It's a sad fact that in human history, you own what you can hold. The Aztecs couldn't hold it. The Spanish couldn't hold it. The Mexicos couldn't hold it and signed a treaty to that effect giving up all claims. Americans are holding it, until someone takes it away. If Mexico and Mexicans want to take it away, it'll mean war and trial by arms. Learn it, love it, live it.

Oh, the idea that the government covers up the ugly parts of American history is full of it. The schools don't teach the noble parts and spend inordinate amounts of time on the rest. The schools are drowning in pc-leftwing-diversity mongering. Luckily the kids don't pay much attention to it.

You can't beat apathy with a stick.

Don’t forget that the Mexican-American War started when Mexico refused to honor a treaty signed by a previous Mexican government, refused to negotiate, and then overran a U.S. Army post in an attempt to forcibly redraw the border. The U.S. was very nice in actually paying the Mexican government for the land we took after we kicked their butts. Don’t ever fall for the “we stole the land from the Mexicans” revision of history.

Actually this country owes it's greatness to an amazing Constitution and Bill of Rights. Otherwise we would be just like Mexico or worse. Don't kid yourself.

I can’t help noting what to most sentient people is obvious, to wit: Abortion is a death penalty imposed on a totally innocent human being by the personal choice of another person, not being accused of any crime and denied access to a court of law. Perpetrators of capital crimes have access to every civil right protection afforded by our judicial system, including opportunities for virtually endless appeals, before they can be executed. Moreover, such felons are not executed by being sliced up and dismembered, limb by limb.

We native born Virginians had illegal immigrant problems in Manassas back in 1861 and 1862. With a little help from our friends we were able to expell them all for a time.

I'm afraid history will repeat itself to expel the invaders from the whole country. This is the only way, especially with the choices we're facing in the '08 election!

Imagine how successful we're going to be, trying to stop the next amnesty bill with a dumbo Congress and President or the traitor-in-chief, McPain!

>>>>>>In other areas, like construction, illegals are crowding out native-born workers.

I’ve actually run the numbers.

In the late 70’s myself and my college pals were making $6/hr or so as general laborers. One year I happened upon a federal contract (DC MetroRail) and got $8/hr.

By any common measure such as the inflation rate or the CPI, that $6 to $8 and hour would now be $22 to $28 an hour.

Anecdotally I hear that illegals (who have completely taken over all unskilled labor jobs are making $12 to $15 an hour.

So illegals have underbid American workers by about 50 percent since the late 1970’s.
