A pledge to never vote for McCain (Vanity)
February 5, 2008 | Tree of Liberty

Posted on 02/05/2008 10:11:11 PM PST by Tree of Liberty

If the unfortunate possibility of a McCain nomination comes to pass, I will not work for his election to the presidency, nor will I defend him in ad hoc conversations. He is wholly unworthy for that high office, and it is intolerable for my conscience to abide supporting him.

I will face two options once in the voting booth: 1) cast my ballot for a third party candidate, or 2) simply not vote in the presidential election.

I am curious who among you share my sentiments.

“On my list of reasons not to vote for Juan McQueeg is how he smeared the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.”

Your average Republican voter has the long-term memory of a wombat on crack.

If enough conservatives pledge to not vote for McCain, we might not have to face that possibility based on the outside chance that the RNC comes to its senses and brokers the convention.

Ummm, she is a few ticks short of a tock. She tries to hide it well, but that facade would crumble if enough stress was placed on her. Not a pretty thought.

It seems the McCain is already doing quite well without all these votes.

Pro-life? He has a pro-life coting record, but he bashes pro-life at every turn. He wants to change the party platform.

I may feel different in November but tonight -never.
Having said that JM has not won yet, it appears he is only getting about 600 delegates tonight - so it is any body’s race and anything can happen.

Hillary will be the nominee . She will also be harder to beat than Obama , as she will turn out the very potent female swing vote .

Obama will not be able to tap into any new voting blocks that the Dims don’t already have, if he was to be the nominee .

That’s one of the multitude of problems with universal suffrage.

“Then you condemn us to Hilda-bama”

Bulls**t. Those that nominated the piece of filth did that. I refuse to go along.

True. But the outcome remains the same.

That is a weak stand. So if I dont vote for a traitor because he sold out his own party and is a dispicable man...I somehow become responsible for his action to deliver our party that he left to the Democrats. I beg to differ, why dont you also blame me for the fact that the media loved McCain so they could draw you weak people into the trap of bringing us to this point of picking between a democrat and a demorat/rino!!!!! you took the bate and now you MY FRIEND ARE THE LUNCH!!!!!!

There's no 3rd party here in Arizona.

Nobody at all? The 2004 returns show Badnarik (Libertarian) getting about 12,000 votes in AZ, so surely he was on the ballot.

in getting the nomination, perhaps. I don't see how he has any hope in the general without us.

We are now a socialist nation.

We are no longer a Republic. The unstoppable push towards rabid Socialism is a certainty. Limited government has long been gone, never to be seen in this once great land. The cancer of the left has won. We are kidding ourselves if we think "conservatism" will ever again flower. Once millions of illegals have amnesty, they will vote for the Rats. The left will have a permanent electoral lock at the Presidential level.

The arrogant elitists at the RNC and the evil McCain have one a Pyrrhic victory. McCain will NEVER get my vote.

The only joy on election night will be watching that vile, corrupt, lying, vengeful, petty, small old man duck out from giving his concession speech. I abhor everything about McCain and those like him.

If it is a choice between Hillary Clinton, and John McCain, a vote for anyone other than John McCain IS A VOTE FOR HILLARY CLINTON.

I don’t care how much you dislike John McCain, you can’t possibly think, under any circumstaces, that Hillary Clinton would be better.

I would wish we could find dems (and repubs) that understood how business and government and taxes worked like Kennedy. Hell I wish there were more dems and repubs like Zell Miller - the guy who gave the best damn speech at the 04 gop convention. All our repubs should have sounded as good as he did and believed what he was saying.

You don’t think a third party “conservative” candidate would be better than just writing in a name that doesn’t get counted at all? I am not voting for McCain/Huckabee, and I certainly am not going to vote for the Dems, so what option is left?

If Hillary is the Nominee and you do not do your duty to prevent her from taking office, then you are a traitor.

A ridiculous statement.

A "friend" who is an enemy will stab you in the back

An enemy that is an enemy has to face you and you can fight without encumbrances.

Conservatives have decided to pull the knives of years out of their backs and stand up and face a declared enemy, instead of settling for the dregs.
