A pledge to never vote for McCain (Vanity)
February 5, 2008 | Tree of Liberty

Posted on 02/05/2008 10:11:11 PM PST by Tree of Liberty

If the unfortunate possibility of a McCain nomination comes to pass, I will not work for his election to the presidency, nor will I defend him in ad hoc conversations. He is wholly unworthy for that high office, and it is intolerable for my conscience to abide supporting him.

I will face two options once in the voting booth: 1) cast my ballot for a third party candidate, or 2) simply not vote in the presidential election.

I am curious who among you share my sentiments.

lets put some things in perspective here.
McCain has 82 lifetime ACU rating 65 in 2006
Hill has 9 and 12
Bama 8 and 8
McCain is no prize but he is progun, prolife, promilitary and much more likely to appoint a conservative judge on the bench.
the dems are definitely not.
i did not vote for McCain in the primary
but i will in the general if he is the nominee

"There is a word for people who would harm their country to spite their political party. It begins with 'A' and ends with 'hole.' "

There is a word also for people willing let the country go to hell just to blindly support their political party. And I'd rather be called the one you gave me than "traitor".

The point is... if John McCain represents the Republican party, then I am very clearly not a Republican so this has nothing to do with spite for "my political party".

Enjoy your new GOP, I'm outta here

This is a very difficult time for us all.. if McCain is the Party’s choice.. it would be impossible for our family (now 27 strong) to vote for him.. for all the known and unknown reasons.. Our votes are sacred, they demonstrate our support and conviction that our candidate will bring forth a stronger, viable, economically healthy and valued democracy... McCain is not the answer..
This is the second time I have witnessed our party taking a very sharp turn down the road to destruction... remember Mitt’s father??? He made some stupid statement in the Far East.. and everyone dropped him like a hot potato.. my father was a huge Romney supporter.. he was almost ready for tears when the Party selected that year...
So where will we cast our vote: Sorry dear friends.. for the Democratic choice.. or not at all.. several family members think voting for a socialist for a few years would be better than a certified nut case.. we are still debating..
We have to get this party together for the right reasons.. can there be a dark horse on the sideline???
The Fritz is crushed!!!

My response was to a post about ending things like waterboarding, my point was McCain has perspectives from the other side of the ledger i.e. his pow time.

Being a Veteran does not qualify one to be President or even General that is true, it does give better experience when it comes to some things that happen during warfare.

Voting against McCain
is far worse than anything McCain ever did.

He stepped out of line, did not tow the line,
so you are going to vote for the liberals?

So you cant get your way on everything,
might as well have your way on nothing?

This is by far the stupidest thing I ever heard.

I will not leave a gaping hole in this country for the Islamonazis to stroll in.

What about the gaping hole that McAmnesty refuses to close, allowing every Third Worlder south of the Rio Grande to flood into what is supposed to be our "sovereign" country?

Losing our country at home nullifies any military victory we achieve overseas. Simple as that.

“Agreed. And he’s not only aiming to change the country ... he’s looking to change the world.

Unacceptable.”

I could very well be kicked off the site for saying this, but the word Antichrist keep popping into my head.

I’ll not only vote third party if McAmnesty is the nominee, but I’ll volunteer for the third party candidate, whoever that shall be.

But I’ll vote for real conservatives in the congressional race.

You commented on the tail end of a 3 post conversation pending...

If “We” want to stay and Iraq and finish the job, McCain is the only candidate who will do that, there are other issues, but we have men and woman being shot at, and to me, that takes precedence.

Hillary said we will be out in 60 days, that is defeat anyway we wish to slice it.

My loyalty is to the republic, not the republican party. There is absolutely nothing McCain could McCain say or do in the next nine months to make this conservative believe that he is a changed man and would somehow govern against his record.

“I can’t stand McCain, but he’s pro-life and pro-troops and won’t surrender to the Jihadists.”

The problem is one never knows what he is, he’s got such a horrible record of flip flopping on things such as the marriage amendment and lying to try to push amnesty through.

As for his war on terror, he wants to close Gitmo and allow terrorists access to our courts and our constitutional rights. He’s bad news all around.

Several here noted that possibility also.

Probably not being the AC himself, but the one to pave the way for him

That takes a slick person, like him or Romney.

It hit me solidly when I saw him give his first primary victory speech.

The charisma and the way people were mesmerized was indeed spooky.

McCain is for free speech? LOL

McCain says:

"Why don't you shut your political pie hole?"

Stifling the www? Online Freedom of Speech Act (H.R. 1606)

"1606 is needed because federal courts have ordered the Federal Election Commission to regulate "electioneering communications" on the Internet because of the Bipartisan Campaign Finance Reform Act (McCain-Feingold). If H.R. 1606 fails to become law, your Web site or blog could be shut down for the 30 days prior to a primary election and the 60 days prior to a general election should you express "electioneering communications."

John McCain, enemy of free speech

Not Child‘s Play [McCain/Schumer bill could effect FR?]

John McCain, you treasonous bastard, I challenge you or any of your traitorous cohorts... (thread by Jim Robinson)
