A pledge to never vote for McCain (Vanity)
February 5, 2008 | Tree of Liberty

Posted on 02/05/2008 10:11:11 PM PST by Tree of Liberty

If the unfortunate possibility of a McCain nomination comes to pass, I will not work for his election to the presidency, nor will I defend him in ad hoc conversations. He is wholly unworthy for that high office, and it is intolerable for my conscience to abide supporting him.

I will face two options once in the voting booth: 1) cast my ballot for a third party candidate, or 2) simply not vote in the presidential election.

I am curious who among you share my sentiments.

No problem there, I don’t question your eligibility.

But you need to read the whole post!

I noticed that. There was a young girl who was standing behind Obama, who was practically hyperventilating.

Spooky indeed.

I am in a similar situation. However, I have three options:

1) vote for a third party candidate
2) write in a candidate’s name
3) stay at home

I will exercise option 1 or 2.

No, not at all.

That’s one of the reasons why I’m thinking long-term, very long-term.

And as I’ve said before (echoing people smarter than I am):

The perfect is the enemy of the good.*

* definition of good, well, YMMV, but I hope I’ve gotten my point across.

I will vote 3rd party. Never for McCain who has so much baggage as to pose a threat to this country.

You mean, like Alito? Wait...McCain said that Alito was too Conservative. You must mean like Souter. Or Anthony Kennedy.

Thanks, but no.

McCain voted YEA on Alito, Hillary and Obama voted NEA. But they’re exactly the same. Right?

My sister loves McCain. Why? Because she thinks he’s “cute”. She lives in Florida, btw.

I will probably go 3rd party, but I haven’t ruled out a write-in. I’ll be mulling over that choice between now and November. No matter what happens, I don’t think I can stay home.

Never Forget - And Never Again

Does your tagline apply to electing liberal republicans?

It applies to 9-11. It became my tagline that day and has remained since them. I’m not going to change it.

As the lovely Ann Coulter so eloquently put it…

“I’d rather deal with President Hillary than with President McCain. With Hillary, we’ll get the same ruinous liberal policies with none of the responsibility.”

Which is why come November, I’ll go the polls and vote for my Republican Congress Critters. However, when it comes to voting for President… Well my tagline says it all.

As a Conservative, I cannot ever, in good conscience, vote for McLame. The man stabbed Conservatives in the back with his gang of 14, amnesty, limits on free speech, etc... and now he claims that Conservatives need to “calm down” and support him. Sorry buddy, you are not getting my vote, EVER.

There was even a paragraph in the Wall Street Journal today that basically said that McLame’s advisers and establishment Republican endorsers think that Conservatives will vote for McLame in November just to keep Hiterly out of the White House. This is a big mistake. Just because establishment Republicans and McLame compromise their principles, they think that Conservatives do the same. It just goes to show you that they do not know Conservatives or principles very well.

I have 5 non voters in my house this November if McLame is the nominee. We will vote in local and state elections but will leave the Presidential line blank.

I’ve said many times before, the more times we Conservatives vote for less qualified candidates, the more less qualified candidates we get. We keep voting for RINOs and it only encourages the GOP to keep giving us piss poor candidates to vote for these days. It’s time to stop it now. DEMAND true Conservative candidates.

And what makes you think McCain would do differently from the Dems?? He’s stabbed the party in the back too many times to now come back and act like he’s a conservative..Better to have 4 years o Hillary or Obama than eight years of McShame !!

If Hillary Clinton gets into office, her highest priority will be to cement her power, so that she and her chosen successors will maintain control of the Federal government. Implementation of liberal policies will come second.

If Hillary Clinton gets into office, you will not see anything resembling conservatism in federal government for the remainder of your lifetime. McCain represents a four-year case of the flu, from which we can recover. You will not see a recovery from Clinton-cancer.

How will she do this?
Implement the Fairness Doctrine => supress conservative speech.
Appoint liberal judges => ensures a liberal safety net for many years.
Eliminate school choice => close homeschooling as an option and control young minds.
Gun control => eliminate the possibility of an armed revolt.
Use FBI files => She's done it before. Will hush any conservative leader.
Socialized medicine => Once implemented will be impossible to reverse. Example: Social Security
Socialism in general => It is exceedingly difficult to eliminate government services
Change the rules! => Don't expect a thing like the Constitution from limiting her power grab.

Reconsider.

Reconsider casting an anti-Clinton vote. You won't be voting for McCain (and depending on how close the race is in your state, you may not have to)...you'll be voting against Clinton and FOR hope that the McCain nightmare will be relatively brief.
