re: Problem is, the Dem attack started right after it was over.)))

Really? What did you see? I've been wondering how long they could hold it in--the MSM probably has a warehouse of files they've been dying to use.

Actions speak louder than words, Senator. And yours have really yelled at us these past few years.

You have a long, long way to go yet.

But, he did get on base.

That he did, but I'd call it more of a walk or a hit batsman than a single.

CPAC is now LiRPAC!

Liberal Republican Political Action Committee

I can't believe LiRPAC let non-CPAC Liberal Republican in to cheer for MeCain.

Sold out every which way we look.

Pretty disheartening.

I can respect them for their decision, while at the same time knowing that decision hurts the cause they claim to be fighting for, and will leave them marginalized.

I accept that, and have pledged that it would be among my highest priorities to secure our borders first, and only after we achieved widespread consensus that our borders are secure, would we address other aspects of the problem in a wa y that defends the rule of law and does not encourage another wave of illegal immigration.

As if we didn't already know it...the weasel word here is "secure."

Good speech.

He certainly needed to begin to repair his relationship with the rank and file conservative base.

And one key way to do it was to remind them of what the opposition intends to do should they win in November.

Hopefully that should provide enough clarity.

Decent speech, with one exception:

“I intend to nominate judges who have proven themselves worthy of our trust that they take as their sole responsibility the enforcement of laws made by the people’s elected representatives, judges of the character and quality of Justices Roberts and Alito, judges who can be relied upon to respect the values of the people whose rights, laws and property they are sworn to defend”

This is worrisome.....

He makes NO MENTION OF ORIGINAL INTENT.

No mention of strict interpretation.

He seems to view the SCOTUS as a rubber stamp for anything Congress or he wants...

This greatly concerns me.

“Unless they let HillBama win.”

What exactly makes Hillary or Obama worse than Mccain?

Do you really think that Mccain won;t sign universal healthcre for illegal aliens if it comes across his desk?

And don;t give me that support the troops BS. The dems have been in power for two years and the war keeps escalating. They (in particular hillary) will do nothing to pull our troops out.

I have only one question for McCain at this time, and it is a sincere one, not a “gotcha”: you say you are for “fiscal responsibility,” but how can we have further middle-class tax cuts, along with a corporate tax cut, and still crawl out of the huge deficit we’re in? Where are the spending cuts to be found that will make this possible?

Delay was at the speech and said the room was full of young McCain supporters waving signs. It was a set-up!

Yeah, too bad it is completely at odds with his record.

If McCain was smart, he would go back to the Senate and get in a big battle with the Dems by pushing a cap on spending like the 1995 “Pay as you go rules” or for a fully funded border fence bill. Do something to show Conservatives he really means what he is saying.

Right now Conservatives mistrust McCain cause they figure he is more Democrat then Conservative. He could do a lot to assuage that worry by picking some serious fights in the Senate while Hillary/Obama are still slugging it out.

Let’s see him herd cats next.

He’s gonna get a lot of opportunity to herd conservatives the next few months.

Who knows, he may get the hang of it.. or just hang along with the GOP ,, twisting slowly in the wind in November.

Time will tell .. with an obvious assist from the media..

I just now turned it on. You're right, he sure doesn't look or sound like a happy camper.
