John McCain funded by Soros since 2001

Candidate's Reform Institute also accepted funds from Teresa Kerry

As Sen. John McCain assumes the GOP front-runner mantle, his long-standing, but little-noticed association with left-wing donors such as George Soros and Teresa Heinz Kerry is receiving new attention among his Republican critics.

In 2001, McCain founded the Alexandria, Va.-based Reform Institute as a vehicle to receive funding from George Soros' Open Society Institute and Teresa Heinz Kerry's Tides Foundation and several other prominent non-profit organizations.

McCain used the institute to promote his political agenda and provide compensation to key campaign operatives between elections.

In 2006, the Arizona senator was forced to sever his formal ties with the Reform Institute after a controversial $200,000 contribution from Cablevision came to light. McCain solicited the donation for the Reform Institute using his membership on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. In a letter to the Federal Communications Commission, he supported Cablevision's push to introduce the more profitable al la carte pricing, rather than packages of TV programming.

somehow we must get out of this consuming push for huge sums of money - it is corrupting and tears the fabric of the Republic.

It is NOT the money at all. the money is just a symptom. The problem is that government has grown to control all aspect of our lives and every aspect of business.

If we have the government our Founders intended, it would have a very small impact on our lives. A government our Founders intended would provide for National defense and little else. There would not be legions of bureaucrats spending their days dreaming of ways to control our lives for the sake of the children or the environment.

Instead we are left with a government hell bent on smothering our Liberties and making our lives miserable. I pray to God that somehow Liberty can grow and government can shrink....

Interesting little tidbit from their 2003 IRS filing, pdf pg 21

WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO HIDE?????

http://www.guidestar.org/FinDocuments/2003/522/100/2003-522100684-1-9.pdf

“The donation from Contributor No. 8 was received subject to the condition that the organization ensure that the donor remain anonymous. While the organization understands that it is obliged to supply the donor information it has to the IRS in the event of a specific request by the agency, inadvertant public disclosures of donor information by IRS Personnel, including posting on the internet through the guidestar web site, create an unacceptably high risk that the information presented on this schedule may become public.

Is this the story the NYTs was going to run but spiked at the behest of mccain?

just today, I read postings about articles that discussed the Soros connection for years. It isn't really news.

Soros has stated that he wants to bring the U.S. down. In my opinion, Soros is as great a threat as terrorism. Soros is no less evil than any despot in history. Satan is truly one with that despicable human. We he is gone from this Earth, humanity will be free of one of Satan's followers.

Soros has been funding both sides.

Funny thing about that “anonymous” donor *not* reflected on Schedule B.
They even failed to include Schedule B in this entire filing, other than the footnote they included in the attachment.
