Romney has withdrawn and asked his delegates to support McCain.
I guess Romney is about as "conservative " as McCain.
Well, I will never vote for Romney in the future either, he’s written off his chances as I hate a “company man”
The only way we get a brokered convention is if conservative non-McCain delegates were to plan and stage an insurrection at the convention, and then convince enough McCain-pledged delegates to join them. I don’t see that happening, and it is highly risky besides. Another (remote) possibility would be for a conservative “dark horse” candidate to announce his (or her) candidacy right now as a way of stopping the McCain bandwagon and certain disaster in November.
Crap. I was hoping he would not quit until after Pennsylvania’s primary so I could vote for him. I guess I will write in Rick Santorum.
Ahhhhhh - that explains why I was confused (more than usual anyway).
I love that! I hadn’t see him called the borg yet.
“Huckabee shouldnt have crossed the line with the Jesus and the Devil are brothers crap.”
Payback’s a bitch
Sucks, but its a great ‘take that’ to Huckabee! HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
There has never been a brokered convention in the modern primary era. Brokered conventions had about a 40 year period and then they were gone 50+ years ago.
But it is a deliberate distortion. They teach that “we all” are brothers.
Darn. I meant to put quotes around principled.
THANKS FOR THE PING
Thanks. I am a student of the Bible so I wouldn’t know if the statement was out of context or not. I know Zero about the LDS doctrine.

This just turns up the heat on the Hillary / Obama pressure cooker.
What, did you expect him to give them to Hillary, like Ann Coulter?
What are we supposed to feel about him. One's a democrat, the other's a bigot. Who cares?
-we knew this was coming, didn’t we?
Best served cold, too.
McCain is certainly more in line with Mitt’s core convictions if you look at Mitt’s extensively liberal record. I hope Juan would not be stupid enough to put another liberal (Romney) on his ticket. That would not be the way to try to woo conservatives.
I don’t like this development, unless it means that Huckabee really pissed Romney off.
But still.... I don’t like it.
Yeah, and huck claims to have ran a clean campaign. Sleazeball.
Well.... go read the Mormon doctrine.... truth hurts...
I think we know who the KINGMAKER is in the GOP.
And who’s the Jester.
Who will be McCain’s maverick?
Are there no men in the Republican Party anymore?
No distortion. Jesus and Lucifer were two brothers vying against one another to be the Redeemer so all of us other spirit children of the Mormon god could potentially become gods too. That isn’t a distortion. That’s the sad reality of Mormon doctrine.
I voted Romney in the primary because Fred Thompson had made it clear that he was out and McCain and Huckabee were entirely unacceptable. McCain because of his legislative record; Huckabee because I find it offensive to try to “trade on faith” as a Christian in either politics or business. I went Romney only because of those factors. It was after that vote that Romney suspended his campaign and I was afraid that he might give his delegates to McCain.
I’m not unifying with anyone. McKerry can kiss my BUTT- Which he and especially his follwers have so far failed to do!! To Quote William Wallace in Braveheart “Freedom”! or another one of our Founding Father “Give me liberty or give me death!”
LDS people think that we all are brothers, so that happens to include Jesus and anyone else. Huckabee feigned ignorance and tried to make it sound like Mormons worship Satan just like Jesus. 1) It was a stupid low blow, and 2) As a trained religious guy, Huckster should know better.
After that lie McCain said about Mitt about timetables during the FL primary?
>>So there, Huckster!<<
I agree. Say what you will about Mitt, he helpe end Hucksters dragging this thing on. I give him credit for that.
“With this move, I disagree. Im a huge Mitten...but I just cant stomach McCain. However, Im sure Romney has his eye on 2012, just like Reagan had his eye on 1980 in 76.”
Well: why not privately lobby — maybe with your delegates to trash The Huckster’s dream chances — McLame to be his Veep and then wait for that old codger to kick two years into his term? That would make him POTUS by 2010 — a whole two years earlier.
And BTW: Romney is no Ronaldo Reaganez.
I don't see any. Sad.
Damn.
“Good career move for the principled conservative.”
Someone needs to pick up the pieces in 2012.
This nation will need a Turnaround.
Well, it would be better than what I expect.
So, the only question mark that remains is the running mate. Will it be McCain/Kerry or McCain/Lieberman? Or perhaps if Juan’s good friend Hillary Clinton doesn’t capture the Dem nomination, McCain can give her a spot on the “Republican” ticket.
Watching McCrazy sew it up.....is like standing in the street and watching your house burn down....because the fire department got there too late....
Is he trying to kiss McCain butt to get the VP?
Worst mistake he could ever make. He should say goodbye to his 2012 hopes.
And Huckabee is a fool for taking out all his frustrations out on Romney and ignoring McCain...I guess this is Mitt’s payback.
Speak for yourself. Now Romney's just another a-hole like the rest of the "conservatives" who are endorsing that stinking RINO.
I'm voting for a rat president, whoever it is and praying we get more conservatives into the house and senate.
They'll fight harder against socialism coming from a rat president than will against the same socialism coming from their own "Republican" president.
How is that a “betrayal”? Romney is out. Who’s Romney gonna support? - Huckabee - ? John McCain is our Nominee. A betrayal would have been for Romney to have endorsed Hillary or Obama.
ManCrush can’t get his calls returned from McCain.
I don’t think so. I’m not a Romney fan, but he was better than McCain or the Huckster. I wasn’t upset when Fred endorsed McCain or Duncan endoresed the Huckster. So the two guys that I would have voted for endorsed the only two guys I wouldn’t vote for. They just about have to endorse somebody... It’s a yawner to me.
Have we started to believe AP? Anyway, what’s an AP Radio Report?
Well, it’s now official. A Democrat will be the next POTUS.
About the same as Id feel if he threw his support behing Huck.
With Cain, Huck and Rom, we were in a lose, lose, lose situation no matter who got the nomination. It was only a matter which single-issue preference you were going for: WOT, Abortion, Economy--or some combination thereof.
All three sucked wind IMHO.
