One report I read on the death of Mugniyah was that he was walking on a sidewalk when a bomb inside a parked car exploded. If that is true, it would make it a little harder for the explosion to have been caused by mishandling one of his own bombs.

Well, I am assuming in that culture, the women don't get to choose who their husband is, and they have to keep their mouths shut. Also that the kids were pretty much helpless to leave on their own. If that were the case, then their blood is on the husband's hands.

Unfortunately, since they are using the widowed women and the orphaned kids as suicide bombers ("Be a martyr and get back at the Americans who killed your husband/father" I would guess they are told), it sadly probably was for the best that the whole house / building / area go taken out...
