Abuse of the presidency (Rampant BDS amongst the dems)
World Net Daily ^ | February 11, 2008 | Craig R. Smith

For the benefit of our country, I hope and pray respect for the office of the president returns with the new president in 2009. The abuse the presidency of George Bush was forced to tolerate has been nothing short of obscene.

Just last week, someone referred to the president as "that bastard Bush." The former first lady, senator and presidential candidate gently nodded her head in approval and answered the foul mouth with, "Well, there is a lot of truth in that."

For years now Mr. Bush has been called a liar, betrayer, dummy, bastard, fear monger, murderer … just to name a few. The_Democratic_Party has spent the last seven years attacking the man and the office. Now the next president will attempt to sit in the Oval_Office and command respect. Be it Democrat or Republican … good luck!

I wonder if the Democrats have ever taken a moment out of hating George Bush to consider the long-term damage they will have inflicted on the presidency by attacking everything President Bush said or did. They made a cottage industry of these attacks two years into a war talking about how the "dummy" duped them into it. Who is the idiot in that equation? Being duped by a dummy is nothing I would list on my resume if I were applying for the job as leader of the free world.

I can only imagine the outcome if the attacks Mr. Bush has weathered had been leveled on George Washington while fighting the British prior to becoming our first president? Could you see Mr. Lincoln being called a liar and a crook during the Civil War? How effective would FDR have been fighting the Nazis if Charles Curtis was screaming, "He betrayed us. He played on our fears," as Al Gore did?

None of this will matter when the history books describe President Bush as the greatest president since Lincoln.

Ever notice that it was after they became baby-murderers that the Democrats started flinging around words like “murderer” and “killer,” and portraying every Republican tax cut or budget reduction-in-the-rate-of increase as an attempt to “kill people.”

Yes, I agree. And those parts which were more speculative in nature, were much more well founded than the ravings coming from the left, today.

Now when we get around to the wild-and-crazy insults we heaped upon Clinton, those were fun, viscous in nature as they may at times have been. The more tongue-in-check stuff was usually always funnier, in that the meanest and crudest stuff, isn't as funny to the mainly adult & mature membership we have around here...
A good zapper can be appreciated and laughed at, even by the target.

Written in Spanish, no doubt.

Washington was attacked too...Thomas Paine published a ferocious attack on him (which did far more harm to Paine’s reputation than to GW’s) because he believed Washington had been indifferent to his fate when he was in danger of being executed by the Jacobins during the Reign of Terror.

I would suggest that those who so mourn the loss of respect for the office of the President review some of the names Bill Clinton was called during HIS tenure! Granted, Bill Clinton deserved that opprobrium, but the OFFICE did not. One more reason why the Arkansas pervert’s damage extends beyond a few stains on the carpet ...

Remember the “first 100 hours”, “drain the swamp”, “out of Iraq” even as far as “Impeach Bush.” The Dems whipped those dolts into a frenzy, got elected, and then the Dems did...well...nothing. Because, you can be criticized if you do something, who wants to risk that. Much easier to do nothing and continue to point at Bush when your followers are lemmings.

To them Bush is dumb (what they want to believe), but he’s managed to run Dems over for 8 years. You see how they can’t believe what they want to believe because it makes no sense and that makes them more angry.

And then there’s Maude! Sorry…I mean HOPE! And then there’s HOPE!!!

The new undefined immeasurable feel good thing. But, if HOPE get elected and fails, who to blame then? I mean you can still blame Bush for, say, a year or year and a half. But, one day you wake up starring at the next Jimmy Carter!

And when the country was falling apart
Obama got it all sewed up.

And then there’s HOPE.
And then there’s HOPE.
And then there’s HOPE.
And then there’s...

Not yet.

That will only happen if a Democrat is elected.

Don't kid yourself, you must not know who's writing the history books...

What are the history books saying about Reagan?

For all his short-comings Bush was a good president. There isn’t a Dhimmi alive that could have withstood the pressure that Bush dealt with on a daily basis. And not a one of them that could fill his shoes.

“Return respect to the residency” my grannies panties. The author captures it perfectly. We’ve crossed the Rubicon and there ain’t no going back.

The libs brought this on and they’ll rue the day.

WRITTEN IN MANY LANGUAGES..

I feel certain the day will come when President GWB and VP Cheney are both recognized as stronger, respected leaders, of a great Nation, who served with honor and dignity, during a period of terror and war.
