No...The National Guard does NOT think it is a threat to Homeland Security. LIBERALS think it is a threat. It is used in less murders than Kennedy recreational activity over history.
I am tired of the demonization of inanimate objects that must be restricted from the 999,999,999 because of the ONE.

When was the last time anyone in the United States was shot with one?
Honestly, it defies logic to try to explain the reasoning of some of these gun grabbers.

Other than the pure excitement of shooting such a weapon, does this gun have any legitimate purpose for civilian use?you could say the same thing about any weapon for that matter.../s

The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
Do you have a problem with that?

I grew up on Oahu, and 20 years ago, just to buy a .22 you needed to go to the police dept and get a permit, complete with photo. It's pretty much "Police State" when it comes to firearms in Hawaii. You can count the firing ranges available to the civilian public on one finger, the range out by Sandy Beach on the east side of the island. Tell you what, on Oahu at least, it would be pointless to bother with a .50 cal, I'm sure the range wouldn't allow it since it's not large enough. I think this particular brouhaha is entirely about the right to own a .50 cal, not the practicality of it. And indeed, I'm sure the Police State will have it's way.

I think we should ban unicorns from horse racing.
While it’s true that I have never seen a unicorn in a horse race, it sure wouldn’t be fair if one entered!

What was the original intent behind citizens having gun ownership rights? Who were they going to protect themselves from ultimately?
Yes, there is a civilian use for these weapons, and the government doesn’t like it. Too bad.
These guns are not misused. There isn’t a single incident on record involving them. And the governments, local to federal should butt the hell out.

Please provide us with your list of things that constitute a “legitimate civilian use”. Then go read the US Constitution and the writings of the men who wrote, debated and ultimately ratified that document and see if your thoughts on civilian firearms ownership even remotely resemble theirs. I’m guessing they won’t.
