Wages I quoted are in Southeastern Arizona-(I am in SW New Mexico across the state line) the farm is about 30 miles from the border- you would think most farmers here would hire illegals; but many do not. Cost of living might be higher there than Missouri, I don’t know anything about Missouri. As to is he hiring- I doubt it, pecan harvest is over and he has the crew he keeps year-round- the ones he took to Vegas of course.
...We deal only with employment-based immigration. I know very little about family-based immigration. Just not our area.....
Ok, how about checking out how much family based immigration is being done? You might be shocked, and it does relate to other kinds of immigration and anchor babies.
....Our clients dont have anchor babies. Our clients get company-paid benefits. They arent a drain on anyone they are just competition for American jobs. We ought to be able to leave them in the dust, but there are times when the guy who holds all the pieces in his mind happens to be from somewhere else. I havent personally been involved with any drains on our society, so my experience is quite different than yours appears to be.....
I’m glad your clients aren’t a drain on anyone, including our public taxpayer funded schools, just competing for jobs Americans might have at higher pay. It’s also nice to know they aren’t having anchor babies, its almost unique.
...I butter my bread with an honest days work for an honest days wage and if I thought we were breaking any laws or any code of ethics, Id be the first to look for fame and fortune somewhere else. Its still a free country and Im over 21. Youre a nasty, provocative little pipsqueak!.....
Um, a little touchy I see! You stated you wanted lots of immigrants, but never said how many was too many. Nothing wrong with having your bread buttered from immigration law, someone has to do it just like those who enforce the immigration laws, but without further explanation it did tend to indicate why you might be for large numbers of immigrants. As for your “nasty, provocative little pipsqueak” remark, I’ll give it all the weight it has coming. Charming courtroom manner!
No, he’ll just live off of relatives or friends and make their lives miserable.
“Nothing wrong with having your bread buttered from immigration law, someone has to do it just like those who enforce the immigration laws, but without further explanation it did tend to indicate why you might be for large numbers of immigrants.”
Ah, now I see. This explains alot.
Total immigration reform is needed to meet the needs of a world that is no longer living in the 19th century. Quotas need to be realistically adjusted. If you base your argument for or against any immigration on the fact the people didn’t happen to be native born and happen to have a child while here, but are otherwise LEGAL, not a drain on society, pay taxes, are working toward permanent residency, then I have nothing more to say to you.
I base my OPINION on the fact that I have traveled throughout the world, never asked other governments to pick up my tab, pay my medical bills, paid their retail sales taxes and any duties on goods I returned with. IF, I had happened to need medical attention while in Europe or Central America, I would have followed their laws, paid my bills and been grateful to make it back to the good old USofA. I wouldn’t have traveled without the travel documents necessary, and I sure wouldn’t have asked any place I went to pay for the roof over my head. IF my company required me to go abroad for some purpose, I would expect to have my papers in order, be allowed to enter LEGALLY, and once there be a tax paying, law abiding citizen. I DON’T EXPECT ANYTHING LESS OF ANYONE ELSE FROM ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD - PERIOD.
I’m not touchy, but yours was a personal attack and attempted to denigrate and color my position and my remarks based upon your obviously tainted experience. If all I had to say in a courtroom is that you are a nasty, provocative little pipsqueak, you’d get off lightly, indeed. Quite frankly, your unethical approach to slanting my postings defines precisely why we can’t get anything done. It’s not just a large unwieldy government barracks, it’s the barb-throwing, smart-mouthed “nuff said” attitudes of individuals who have absolutely no idea of the word “balance” means. Point of Fact: There hasn't been "nuff said" by anyone, anywhere, and that's why nothing constructive is getting done.
Um, I have no idea where the word “barracks” came from in the second sentence of the last paragraph — it was not in my original text.
I am well aware of quotas for legal immigrants, and legal non-immigrants. Sheepherders (Basque or otherwise)was a visa that was abused in its early stages with many moving to other occupations shortly after entry. No no one from the government has asked me about sheepherders or any other occupation, usually businesses lacking employees seek visas from the government on their own.

Um lots of people here have children while they are here under non-immigrant visas in order to have an anchor for permanent residency at a later date, even though they had no reasonable expectation to be granted a visa for permanent residency lacking the USC child. Clearly a flaw in our law. If one is working toward permanent residency, what are they, one on a non-immigrant visa? I guess you think it is OK for non-immigrants to have USC anchor babies? Since you have nothing more to say I can only guess you are for massive competition for American jobs and not just by non-immigrants but want them to be able to immigrate permanently also....you are entitled to your opinion, but I think it underminds the USA.

Glad you have traveled so much, and obeyed foreign countries laws. Fortunately you seem to be a US citizen and are not in the same boat as most visitors to the USA. Our standard of living is much higher than many countries and thus there is more incentive for them to "game" our system and less incentive for Americans to "game" other countries immigration laws.(does this make your experience tainted?)I expect foreigners to obey our rules and laws, but when they have so much to gain many in fact will break our laws to stay here. That is the main crux of the matter, economics pure and simple.(like some American companies hiring foreigners because they can pay them less). I have lived in several foreign countries and when in Rome did as the Romans. If your job required you to go abroad, first the host country would require you to get your papers in order, enter legally and I doubt you you would be a citizen just because of your employment. Many countries do not grant citizenship solely by birth in their countries, shouldn't the US do the same? What rational is there for having children of illegals or non-immigrants become US citizens solely because of the location of their birth?

There was no personal attack except in your mind. I didn't slant your posts, and you never answered my question what is enough immigrants? You resorted to name calling and are continuing the same. Try supporting your position. Did you even bother to view the video at my link? I know full well what balance means, and what IMBALANCE means. Do you? My experience is not tainted it is very real and becoming more familiar to Americans everywhere not just the southern border. Tell me how many anchor babies are born to foreigners in Jackson Hole Wyoming? Where do you live or work?
Plenty has been said about immigration, but its the lobbyists who run things. Unless our politicians are afraid of losing their jobs by voters(like 2007 when the balance had gone way too far to the left or for the aliens), they will vote for those who pay them. Point of fact: I lobbied against the 1986 IRCA and had the pleasure of meeting numerous lawmakers including Alan Simpson and Tip ONeill, who both bluntly told myself and some others that it was a done deal the "Farm Bureau" was going to get their amnesty passed despite it being wrong. It passed, 3 million plus illegals amnesticized, and about 50% were fraudulent.

Please take a look at this below and see if enough has been said about the immigration problem-20 years ago and we are back worse than where we started! http://www.otisgraham.com/otis_graham_writings/art_failing_the_test_immigration_reform.html
Evidence? $8.00 an hour?
This is income a teenager living at home should expect? Wow...
Of course not. This AH gets paid many times that just to shoot off his mouth, trying to convince grown adults to work for income that most working teenagers earn.
How in hell could an adult, with adult expenses live off this for Gods sake?
If I lived in that state, I would make it my second job to ensure Missouri House Speaker Rod Jetton was removed from the government payroll.
I would investigate this guy back into his high school days...Check his business connections, financials, and dig deep into his background. No doubt he is somehow connected to some of these greedy businesses that are attempting to pay grown adults teenage wages.
Then these greedy SOBs cry when no one shows up, as they make demands for low wage peasants, happy to live 10 to a home or apartment, earning 8 bucks an hour, all so the can continue to reap larger profits, all this while calling the citizens of the state "lazy". Wow...
Profits regardless of consequences.
Too bad Rod Jetton can't be thrown off the government teet, into an $8.00 an hour job. He's just another parasite on the tax payers of Missouri.
bttt
Oh, yes. My family supports Roy Beck and Numbers USA with our money and our time. How clear is that? Nuff said???
Bttt
If I lived in Missouri would go after this guys job with a vengeance...Investigate the hell out of him.
See which businesses he's connected to or what he's invested in, who are his business contacts, friends, family members and which businesses are they connected to ...How many of them are hiring low wage illegal aliens?
Find out what this guy's government paid salary is, what benefits is he being provided by the tax payers that he calls lazy? Find out exactly what type of generous tax payer paid retirement pension he is being provided by the lazy tax payers.
Dig deep on this guy...He reeks so bad, I can smell him from California.
Agree, see the above posts.
Hello, Senator Kennedy.
The nations immigrant population reached a record of 37.9 million in 2007. Immigrants account for one in eight U.S. residents, the highest level in 80 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13.
Since 2000, 10.3 million immigrants have arrived the highest seven-year period of immigration in U.S. history. If that isn't an open flood gate, I don't know what is. How many more are we supposed to absorb?
I want an overhaul of the immigration quotas.
I want the borders enforced.
I want the immigration programs brought into the 21st century.
I want local government (i.e. state, municipal) consulted as to the regional needs to achieve the right quotas.
I don’t want brickbats in Washington coming up with a number based upon “inside the beltway” ideas.
I want welfare cut to legal non-immigrants and illegals.
I don’t want government-sponsored educational benefits extended to illegals. If I can’t get in-state tuition benefits for my son to cross the river into Illinois, I sure as heck don’t want kids from across the ocean to be entitled to in-state tuition.
I want companies who manipulate the law and hire illegals at ridiculous wages to be prosecuted.
I want doctors and scientists and researchers allowed in to benefit our citizenry if we cannot produce or entice our doctors, scientists and researchers to work in areas they feel would be detrimental to their families and themselves.
I want a reasonable, balanced approach to those who are coming here to escape the horror of their situations. I’m not against extending a helping hand.
What more do you want me to say?
