Sorry if posted already...

From FOXNews.com:

“Ricin is made from the waste left over from processing castor beans and can be extremely lethal. As little as 500 micrograms, or about the size of the head of a pin, can kill a human, according to the CDC.”

Las Vegas Hotels

Extended Stay America

We really liked this hotel. For the price, we had a very clean room and the sheets were crisp and fresh. The TV worked nicely and the lady behind the front desk was very helpful. We were not able to use the pool because of the cold weather, but that was really the only problem we had. We would highly recommend this place if it weren't for one thing that I almost hesitate to mention. I suddenly became very sick one night and had to be rushed to the ER. The police say that the deadly poison ricin was found in our hotel room. We were very surprised. If I pull through I will write a more thorough review later.

Hmmmm. Weren’t the Dems doing a primary in Vegas during the last couple of weeks. Remember, this guy hit the hospital on the 14th, (just prior to the primary if memory serves). An interesting coincidence if nothing else.

Also, seems there was a dead dog in the room. As I recall, Muzzies aren’t terribly fond of pooches (unclean animals and all). Maybe a homegrown “nutjob”.

Just thinking out loud here. Odd that the cops aren’t releasing his name. They know way more about him than they’re lettin’ on, or they’d be asking for help from the public.

One do wonder.

Ricin is 6000 times more toxic than cyanide and 12000 times more poisonous than rattlesnake venom by weight. While there is no known antidote, the US military has developed a vaccine.

Death can occur 36-72 hours after exposure. If a victim survives 5 days, most likely it will not be fatal.

He had been in hospital since Feb/14th. .. so why do we not yet have his name. Could be something exotic. . .or could be 'Tony' . . .I suppose.

They mentioned 'a dog died'. He had a dog with him in this motel/hotel/suite or. . .what?

Meantime whatever; the lips are sealed!

However did you know?

Unfortunately, it was in the butt, at a place now known for recycling its syringes.

Oh, ha ha! Nope, still on the old one - but have to scan every few hours if I want to post. So I post real fassstt and then “clean,” so I can read without popups till it starts again.

I believe the ricin showed up because I used the name of “castor beans” in vain just in the past few days, after possibly never posting those words before in my life, lol.

On the “turmeric for an enlarged heart” thread, someone thought turmeric was in Worcestershire sauce and I said no, that’s “tamarind” - then I posted a pic and pointed out that it looks like castor bean pods!

So, *I* did it!

I suspect doctors figured out what was wrong with him fairly quickly. The two weeks before tracking him back to the motel is interesting though.

I know for a FACT that the terrorists have been working on a ricin attack for some time now. Vegas would be a PERFECT target.

My source is impeccable on this.

The dog leaves you to think that the person harmed was not an islamic terrorist who was making the poison and going to use it, unless it was a test subject. Nut-jobs do come in other forms than islamic but the dog gives pause to the islamic part because it is considered unclean, though not for killing.

The person's name not being released so many days latter leads one to think otherwise, that he is just the latest islamic terrorist that the government does not want the public knowing about. Which is a really stupid move on the Republicans part. People should know exactly how many of these mall, university, sniper, church and bridge incidents in the last 7 years have been islamic terrorism, because babying Americans has done nothing but help the dems.

Not much at all. It is far, far more poisonous than cyanide.
I would imagine that if there’s enough to be able to see it with the naked eye, that’s more than enough to kill you.

“We” don’t have the guys name, but I’m guessing the cops know it, along with a lot more than that or they’d be asking for help from the public (as in the Seattle Ferry incidents, haven’t heard much on that one recently either). As to the dog’s type, they haven’t said, though the pooch is described as being quite dead.

Rather amusing that the authorities always state that these incidents are non-terrorist related. Almost as if it is scripted. I imagine that is a Federal requirement, drilled into the heads of the PR folks at training conferences and other training events. The statement is too consisitent not to be a federal requirement. You break the rules and fail to make the required “no terrorist” satement, and “No Homeland Security Funds for you”. Interesting to watch, but somewhat embarassing since we’re paying plenty to watch this drama being acted out for us. We’ve all seen the authorities present the same play too often totake the disclaimers too seriously.

Well, if it was terrorist related, and they said as much, that could shut down Las Vegas for some time...

The cost would be enormous, incalculable.

Sometimes when things like this happen I get the feeling the authorities would rather that they didn’t have to tell us anything at all - ANYTHING.

So I guess we should count our blessings that they told us even a little about what’s happening.

Because homeland security is a national issue period.

That knowledge, every incident in every state is a national issue. Make a list, in detail since 9-11 of every islamic terrorist incident successful or failed. Names of terrorist big or small whether homegrown or from overseas, places, number of deaths each incident, cost of damage.....

Just how does one “accidentally” get ricin poisoning?........

Gooood question. Over at LGF, someone on the comments boards was saying that the article says a dog and other small "pets" were found in the room, so it couldn't be a Muslim because they hate dogs.

However, my reading of this section indicates the dog was dead. Now, it could have starved because of being alone for so long (although methinks a dog would start making noise at some point); or, the dog was a "test subject". I'm the cynical sort, so I'm going with "test subject".

I just looked up mole beans and evidently using castor beans to repel moles is an organic method of pest control. They said that castor oil is an ingredient in commercial mole deterrents. Yes, that’s the same castor oil that we used to hear about from our grandparents.

“Because homeland security is a national issue period.”

Then why do we give all that money to states and have state run Homeland Security Departments? Of course, I am a states rights kinda gal.

I think I understand your frustration as far as politics go concerning this issue as a whole.

I just wanted to point out to you that the locals are in charge of this ‘investigation’ at this time and even bragged about their STATE HOMELAND SECURITY DEPT. and then begged for more federal dollars during the presser today...LOL

It was very strange...just like their mayor(who tried to ban a Tom Clancy game based on a terrorist attack in Las Vegas...go read the Wiki).

I wholeheartedly agree that the feds never like to connect the dots in public and seem too concerned about Islam sensitivity. It’s maddening.

Let’s remember however, that when they do, the left screams bloody murder! They are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

There are some updates within the past couple of hours posted at CNN, including a little more information about the pets. They are saying the dog most likely died because of lack of food and water for 2 weeks. Other items: they're not sure the ricin was the sick man's, and that he's not a suspect (I'll bet he is), and that if you can manage to survive ricin for a few days, you just might pull through. That was surprising to me--I'd understood that it was always fatal.

We’ve all seen the authorities present the same play too often to take the disclaimers too seriously.

This is, as you say, probably SOP. I am dismayed so little is being shared with the public. Anyone with one one millionth of a brain cell is aware of the dangers faced, and each is free to ignore those dangers. The Constitution was written for days and times like Americans now face, but look at the clowns running the place, telling Americans that they Serve, Protect, and Defend the Constitution, while the blame is placed on Americans, who elected these clowns, and one understands a little more of what is taking place. Again, I am dismayed the enemy is firmly on the path to murdering Americans, while congress interviews baseball players. Says much about the people in charge, who go by the name democrats, and our beloved rinos.....(shaking head and walking away)
