There was no treaty with Hawaii, like the US made with Indian Tribes. They were an indepedent European-style monarchy. Their Kingdom of Hawaii (multi-racial, by the way, not “native”) was overthrown because the Queen tried unilaterally to abolish the constitution, Hawaii then became a Republic, and a number of years later was annexed.
The actual facts and arguments being made by the separatists are substantially similar to those being made regarding California and the American Southwest—especially California. If the Akaka Bill passes, the door will be open for demands for similar treatment for Mexican Americans, whose indigenous homeland was illegally conquered by the US without their consent. Sound preposterous; it’s no different than what used to sound preposterous in Hawaii.
I really think people are going to revolt at some point. I really think people are going to revolt at some point. I really think people are going to revolt at some point. I really think people are going to revolt at some point. I really think people are going to revolt at some point. I really think people are going to revolt at some point. I really think people are going to revolt at some point.
Let's hope so.
~~~Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind Moslem cleric convicted of the
attempt to blow up the Trade Center in New York in 1991 called
on his fellow Moslems to conquer the land of the infidels.~~~
~~~Siraj Wahaj, the first Moslem imam to offer a prayer at the US
House of Representatives, urged his fellow Moslems to unite to
elect a Moslem president: Take my word, if six to eight million
Moslems unite in America, the country will come to us.~~~
~~~Farouk Kaddoumi, chief of the PLO Political Department, said:
Attack US interests. Conflict with the US is the only way to reach
our goals.~~~
~~~Jihad is commanded in the Koran: Believers, make war on the
infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them. Know that
Allah is with the righteous(Sura 9:123).~~~
I think we need more then hope....You are really correct in this.
So far they don’t seem to be doing too much...Its just amazing to me that they’ve let things go like they are over there.
To me, it seems much ado over nothing, and fear mongering tactics from anti-immigration venues of all sorts that use this as a tool. I've been reading the crap for years, and the so called balkanization still is not evident, but the fear keeps it on the burner.
I don't buy into it, and many who have in the past, have drifted away from it. Sales of books and periodicals on the subject continue with new groups who find it interesting and usable, but the facts don't bear the fears out. Never have......
In fact, this sort of thing has been going on since the founding. Power centers come and go, and the world continues to rotate on it's axis.
