Yup ~ the Dems behind that Chavez tax exemption have some 'splainin' to do.

Maybe we can get it done at a nearby federal prison or something.

Methinks the 50 kilos were cocaine actually, though Chavez certainly wants a nuke.

He is a terrorist, he is a communist, he is a revolutionary, and he is a drug runner. Time was, Americans could be counted on to understand that "communist" was the worst in that list, and that all the others would follow in due course.

St. Jacques, this is something about which we have long had a sense of foreboding. "Bolivarism" is a very clever way to disassociate the traditional Latin American Marxist from his "classical" but now unfashionable communist roots.
"Bolivarian " LOL Good old capitalist "Branding" serves Karl Marx, as well as any other client!

Of course it is absolutely no surprise that FARC has international support from Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil, Uruguay (especially tragic case), and Venezuela. Chavez has placed himself at the head of this marxist coalition, replacing Fidel and a now weakened Cuba.

But there is another layer, IMHO. That is the CHICOM. They are effectively removing Latin America from our sphere of influence to wage economic (at first) war against us. They have many economic weapons, not the least of which could be truly massive waves of illegal immigration. It's already started from Brazil, where there are enough aspiring emigrants to literally dwarf the Mexican movement northward. Apparently the long-term plan is that we are to be burdened with all the problems of Latin America, and progressively fewer of the benefits of trade with the region.

I cannot help thinking that this is the reason Bush, et al are pushing the NAU. Perhaps they intend to draw the line at the Southern Border of Mexico, hoping against hope that Mexicans don't topple over in a Marxist revolution of their very own.
