I agree about nixing the edit button.

Missing a few typos is nothing compared to changing entire posts. Eventually, nothing could make sense if enough is "edited."

Well I read the wiki (which I have read before, but since you need to download a RSS reader I passed on the idea. The wiki still doesn’t mention what it does specifically. Is it like a crawl across your browser that will display (in the case of Free Republic) news headlines? CUrious really, but honestly it would seem useless for Free Republic if that’s what it does, as going to FR in itself is like a RSS in that the most relevant headlines are listed on the sidebar.

Thank you for your reply and support. This thread has grown into a monster [this post might be 764]. Have to feel a bit sorry for John R.

Thanks, Arrowhead. I usually just stay on the News/Activism page & use it as a base. The Home page does look rather familiar after all the changes.

Just please -— please — have a ‘search’ tab no matter what page you are on. A ‘search’ tab/link/button/whatever —— that is easily seen —— just as it was before the renovations.

I am referring to the ‘search’ that gives the choice of ‘post time’ or ‘relevance’. Not the ‘’keyword’ or ‘posted by’ one.

I like the new format, too, and will like it even better when I get used to it.

I was able to login, so today is a success. lol

"Font is too small. Harder to search. I have to squint."

In your browser menu click View/Text Size/Larger/Largest. I know it works for FR. It won't work on all websites.

I don't want to change the way I use the web to accommodate a bad design from one website. Even so enlarging the font to see the sidebar would make the forum topics too large.

It's an awkward design; very unusual for FR.

LOL!

How about those who claim to never hit abuse?
No more of that, either.

It doesn't affect my other web-pages. It's only three clicks. Hang in there.

Very hard on the eyes, but then again I dislike change and am colorblind.

While I understand that we are all activists by nature, I would like to see breaking news at the top followed by activism threads.

Unless there is a call to action where we are urgently needed. (Read tag line)

I wish though you had an edit button to allow people to correct postings.

Ditto that.

Suggestions:

Please include a search function that can search by keyword, subject, post time, and user on every page.

Also a link to the main page from the locale site.

Other than that—looking good!

It took a while for me to figure it out, but here is the way rss works here

If you are in the news/activism comments page, and click on rss: add to sidebar

On the sidebar will appear all the threads that have been posted to most recently

It changes rapidly, but if a poster wants to see what is being posted to at the moment, there it is
