God bless this courageous bishop. Sadly, while they may have locked Oscar Wilde up a century ago for buggering other men, they're more likely today to lock the good bishop up for saying that buggery is an abomination.

Also, we really, truly need to eliminate all elements of this homosexual conspiracy from within the Church first. Until we purify ourselves, we'll never be able to effectively oppose the Culture of Death in the greater community.

I hope his fellow Bishops don't run and hide from him.

Sounds like they already have, based on the end of this article.

The days when we can afford to have sissy-boys as bishops are coming to an end very quickly.

The Rt Rev Joseph Devine, Bishop of Motherwell and president of the Catholic Education Commission, said gay rights organisations aligned themselves with minority groups, such as Holocaust survivors, to project an "image of a group of people under persecution".

I think the gay lobby, like liberal organizations everywhere, seeks the destruction of all western institutions. Still, I find it hard to believe holocaust survivors align themselves in the other direction.

Sound a lot like what was typical in the ancient pagan world, was the same amidst the Nazis, and is the same with Moslems today. That is, unlike in the Hebrew and Christian scriptures, homosexuality is not defined or condemned as such, rather the passive/effeminate partner is condemned. The masculine penetrator is seen as OK...or even super-masculine.

It took Judaism and Christianity to make only heterosexual marriage the moral place for sex.

Yes, I think that attitude is common even among politically correct American homosexuals, although they would never admit it, to outsiders at least. The penetrator is the controlling partner, and the penetrated is the submissive partner.

Many years ago, one of the junior, untenured faculty in our department was the boyfriend of a senior professor, who patronized him and helped him get his first book published. The younger man was always very neatly dressed, and over a period of three or four years I never saw him wearing anything but a blue blazer to the work.

He received tenure, and at the first department meeting the next fall he showed up wearing a brown tweed jacket. I didn’t even recognize him for a minute. Without understanding the meaning of this unexpected change of style, I remarked on it, and was put off with what seemed to be some embarrassment.

What I figured out later is that as soon as he got tenure, the younger man ceased to submit himself to his older patron, but instead took on the personality of a butch homosexual and went out to find his own lovers, or perhaps victims. He later went to another college and died of AIDS.

Homosexuals tend to prey on each other, is my sense of the matter, although I’ve also known a few apparently contented couples.
