.DISCUSSION... SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER MIDDLE GEORGIA COULD PRODUCE PERIODS OF VERY HEAVY RAIN AND POSSIBLY SMALL HAIL THIS EVENING.

EVEN THOUGH UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM OVER EASTERN TENNESSEE WILL CONTINUE MOVING AWAY FROM THE REGION...A LEFTOVER STATIONARY FRONT WILL PROVIDE SOME FOCUS FOR ISOLATED SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT OVERNIGHT.

INSTABILITY WILL REMAIN MEAGER TONIGHT WITH MIXED LAYER CAPE VALUES REMAINING BELOW 200 J/KG. VERTICAL WIND SHEAR AND LARGE-SCALE ASCENT WILL ALSO BE QUITE WEAK.

NO SEVERE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT.

Tornado-like winds tear up downtown Atlanta
http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/atlanta/stories/2008/03/14/domeburst_0315.html?cxntlid=homepage_tab_newstab

Tornado-like winds ripped through downtown Atlanta shortly before 10 p.m., damaging the Georgia Dome where the SEC men’s basketball tournament was underway, and leaving damage and broken glass all over the area.

Police and fire officials in Atlanta, overwhelmed by calls, were unable to give information on how widespread the damage was. Reports of damaged homes and downed trees came in from Cabbagetown and Midtown as well.

(excerpted)

You would think that CNN would be covering it from their own stupid headquarters in downtown Atlanta!

They're too busy spinning for Obama to notice the spinning in the atmosphere.

“The CNN building was apparently badly damaged.”

I just watched a little of CNN. THe reporter mentioned that a trash can was knocked over.

Ha - you would have to ask L Ron Hubbard about the aliens from Ceti....except of course he’s dead.

God is the CREATOR of the weather, of the atmosphere, of the earth.

It is clear in God’s word that sometimes (not all the time) God uses the forces of nature to accomplish His purposes.

He is the sovereign Ancient of Days, Almighty, Holy Creator God who is also a righteous Judge.

It is HIS perogative to use or not to use His Creation however He desires to do - again - to fulfill HIS PURPOSES.

Did He use that perogative tonight in Atlanta? Only He knows. I will praise Him and thank Him for His mercy in that more were not killed by this tornado! Yet, perhaps, the message was delivered....

HECK NO!

My father ran the sexual disease unit of CDC, and I grew up being absolute terrified of women.

When my father had to watch a video on an STD, I had to sit next to him and watch it also. YUCK!

Think about it...

I wonder if people on here know how stupid they sound by claiming that god somehow pointed the tornado to CNN. Pretty pathetic people. Not to mention stupid.

My point is there’s precisely as much objective evidence that Aliens from Episilon Ceti are directing natural disasters on Earth as there is that some deity is doing so.

Thanks for that link - here is a snippet from that source:

“Atlanta Fire officials said that at least seven to ten people were transported to local hospitals from that location.

11Alive producer Tracey Carmony said that much of the damage at the Georgia Dome is near Gate C, including shattered windows and doors between the Dome and the Georgia World Congress Center.

Trees and debris has been reported down across much of downtown Atlanta. Georgia State University police are reporting debris down on their campus.

Atlanta police said that a structure may have collapsed on Edgewood Avenue near Butler. There are other reports of damage to buildings in and just east of downtown Atlanta.

Police said that windows have been blown out in the Ritz Carlton Hotel in downtown Atlanta as well.

A vacant building to the north of CNN Center has at least partially collapsed, according to Atlanta fire officials.

A National Weather Service-trained spotter and police officer contacted 11Alive News, and said from his 10th floor room in the Atlanta Hilton, he saw a funnel cloud pass over the downtown area.

He said his room faces to the west, and said the funnel cloud was just to the south by “a couple of blocks,” and moving to the southeast. He said it was well-illuminated by the downtown lights, and accompanied by a “large amount of debris, flying in a circular pattern” above the level of his room.”

And the purpose or message of leveling Greenburg KS, with multiple fatalities, was what, exactly?

The Georgia Dome was damaged. The SCC Tournament was holding a game there when the storm hit. The game will not be played tonight and people are now leaving the Georgia Dome.

The game that was being played was finished, but the second game has been cancelled for tonight and will be rescheduled - Kentucky v. Georgia.
