I don’t know how good it is but I got one from Lowes for $10, made in china. I guess I would rather have a few bucks going to china commies rather than a bunch going to us commies

Check out Ka-bar, Gerber, Buck.

Gerber probably has the better of the three.

I like my Leatherman WAVE and still use it, but only because it was a gift.

I would not buy one and be able to use it knowing I contributed to Tim Leatherman and his leftist leanings.

I’ve always preferred a Gerber because I can open it quickly with one hand. I’m real fond of my Glock as well although it is harder to remove screws with, especially if I’m trying not to wake the neighbors.

Heads should roll over this. From the guy who placed the requisition, to everyone who signed off on it, and to the head of the BATFE.

But they won't.

Yep, one quick downward-flick, and you've got pliers/wirecutters. The older version didn't have locks and somehow, I cut my thumb to the bone when the blade retracted while I was cutting something.(that thing was sharp!)

I carry mine in a blue cell-phone sheath (Lowes) 'cause the original fell apart pretty quick. I never leave home without it.

News Reporter: "Don't these ATF agents look great in their uniforms and ski masks as they prepare to...What's that? Oh, I'm terribly sorry. This is actually a picture of a trio of cowardly terrorists who hide their identity behind their terrifying black ski masks."

Yep. These three are part of the new Continuity Irish Republican Army (CIRA), which broke off from the PIRA in 1986 and to this day continues to cause problems in Ireland and Great Britain.

There are unconfirmed reports that the CIRA split into two different factions in 2005-6. If true, this would likely weaken the group further and might actually give Ireland an opportunity to fully recover after so many years of violence and bloodshed.

Too bad the subguns.com and fbo.gov info wasn't posted here. They've both been removed.

In any event, I thought I'd update all of you on politicians fighting over who 'fixed' this. Idaho Rep. Bill Sali claims it was him. This was from May, 2008.

Idaho lawmaker says he prompted ATF to ditch controversial slogan
Posted by Noelle Crombie, The Oregonian May 17, 2008 05:25AM
Categories: Idaho

Looks like the ATF has to find a new slogan to engrave on the pocketknives it gives its agents. "Always Think Forfeiture" - a reference to the feds' ability to seize assets tied to a criminal act - ruffled some feathers in Congress, this morning's Idaho Statesman reports.

U.S. Rep. Bill Sali, R-Idaho, said Friday that his complaints about the slogan - "Always Think Forfeiture" - persuaded the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to end its use on the Leatherman tools handed out to participants in a training program.

But a spokesman for the federal agency said Friday that the agency actually stopped using the slogan about two months ago, when other members of Congress first raised concerns.

While Sali claimed credit for it Friday in a press release, ATF first fielded congressional calls about the matter in late March, said the agency's spokesman, Robert Browning. Based on those inquiries, the agency decided to discontinue the slogan outright, Browning said.

"Because it has caused concern among the public, we are no longer utilizing that slogan in our training sessions," he said.

The phrase was used as part of ATF's training program to teach investigators around the country that they can properly seize the assets of the lawbreakers they arrest.

The slogan had been in use for a decade, Browning said, and until now, no one had ever complained about it.

So the agency now claims that it nicknamed itself "always think forfeiture" ten years ago? Sometimes the jokes write themselves. Except when they're too sad to be funny.

ATF apologizes to Sali for misleading letter
4:39 PM MDT on Saturday, May 31, 2008

(Associated Press) BOISE -- The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives apologized to U.S. Rep. Bill Sali of Idaho for a misleading letter indicating he played a role in the agency's decision to drop its "Always Think Forfeiture" slogan.

Sali claimed responsibility two weeks ago, only to learn later from news organizations he had nothing to do with it.

The slogan was actually abandoned in March after Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska complained.

Two-thousand multi-tools were engraved with the slogan and were to be handed out at ATF training sessions for law enforcement agents.

But lawmakers including Sali feared it would encourage agents to seize weapons from even law-abiding citizens.

In his apology last week, acting ATF director Michael Sullivan conceded the agency had distributed 242 engraved multi-tools.

Previously, the agency maintained none had been distributed.
