I don't know about that, Dr. E. Given the twists and turns of this election, I think there is a honest opportunity for McCain. Obama will never shake off his ties with his "spiritual father". What other things are lurking in his past one can only guess until the election gets really nasty. The Democrats would be crazy to nominate him. But the liberals have never liked the Clintons and if Hillary is nominated I predict the African-Americans will see this as a slap at Obama and stay home. My wife was saying today that had Al Gore ran it would have been disastrous. But with Hillary and Obama dividing the party, I think McCain could win if he keeps his mouth shut. But I don't know what would be worst; Hillary, Obama, or McCain.
