Celebrity wrestler Hulk Hogan is being sued by attorneys for the man who was critically injured in a crash involving Hogan's son.

John Graziano's attorneys filed suit Monday in Clearwater against Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea.

The suit says he and his estranged wife, Linda, are liable as the parents of 17-year-old Nick Bollea.

Graziano was a passenger in Nick Bollea's 1998 Toyota Supra when Bollea lost control and crashed into a tree on a downtown Clearwater Street August 26th.

Lawyers say the Iraq war veteran -- who wasn't wearing a seat belt -- was left in a semiconscious state and will require care for the rest of his life.

An attorney says millions of dollars will be sought.

Nick Bollea is facing a criminal charge of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury.

And whose decision was it to ignore the law and refuse to wear a seat belt?

Enough said... suit should be dismissed.

FYI, Hulk Hogan (Terry Bollea): Hard-core lefty.

So, I guess a predatory lawsuit (in a very crooked county) is OK in that case, eh?

Incidentally, I'm not so sure he's such a "hard core lefty."

In any event, his family has been undergoing some real stress lately, according to the press. From what I understand he's not such a bad fellow. I've met his wife and I recall when his kids were just tots.

As the adult sponsor of a minor driver he will be financially liable. The lack of seat belt use will prolong the suit and mitigate the settlement somewhat but will not eliminate the liability.

I make no judgements, I was just pointing out his ideological predeliction.
I have heard him spouting some of the same crazed rhetoric normally heard on left-wing radio and read on left-wing websites.

Contributory negligence.

Unfortunately, Mr. Bollea is the “deep pockets” in this case, and is likely to get raped by the “justice” system.

Incidentally, some of that stress in his family was brought on by the fact that he was banging one of his daughter’s friends.

I've got a rope! Let's have a lynch-party for the non-seat belt wearer!

In Oklahoma, you would not be allwed to bring up that the injured driver was not wearing a seat belt. We have a very strong plaintiff’s bar lobby. It is ridiculous.

I don't know how this is a predatory lawsuit when his son's actions are mostly to blame for making this kid into a vegetable. I know the passenger failed to wear his seat belt but that doesn't absolve Hogan of his responsibility. He was driving close to 100 mph on streets with 40 mph speed limit.

Interesting case, the man decided he needed no seat belt and was the man of steel who could fly...NOT!
On the other hand, the kid was driving recklessly.

My guess is something in the neighborhood of 2 million will be awarded. The umbrella insurance Hogan has will cover most of it.
The passenger has some liability for not wearing the belt, and could be there is a history of them both driving fast together before with the passenger's permission.

A tragedy in any case, but we will see where it goes.

PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) — The mother of John Graziano is breaking her silence on the highly publicized car accident that left her son in critical condition.

Debbie Graziano’s son was a passenger in his friend Nick Bollea’s car August 26, when it crashed into a palm tree in Clearwater.

Graziano remains hospitalized at Bayfront Medical Center.

In an exclusive email to Bay News 9, Debbie Graziano writes:

I am John’s Mom. I am a private person, my children are my life.

The only “news” I want to hear is from Dr.’s and nurses as to how my son is doing.

During this past week I have been hearing small bites of what is being said in the media, re: my son’s accident.

I can no longer remain silent. One week ago 2 good friends got into a tragic accident.

Two families are devastated, 2 mothers are comforting each other and caring for each others children according to their needs and will continue to do so until as Terry said we walk John out of here.

My son John has been very close to the Bollea family for over 6 years.

The boys relationship began over a love of cars. My son was like an older brother to Nick.

Terry and Linda love my son and saw him as a good role model to Nick. They celebrated with us when John left for Marine Boot Camp, and they celebrated with us when he returned home from Iraq. They are like extended family.

Since day one of this nightmare they have been with us physically, emotionally, mentally and financially.

They brought Nick who himself was in pain from his injuries to sit in a stiff hospital chair for hours with the rest of us.

Debbie Graziano said the Bolleas have been at the hospital every day offering comfort, support and food.
They came and faced our family and friends not knowing what response they would get.

They have personally carried in food and supplies not just sending it.

We have cried together, laughed together about our John and his dry hysterical humor, his courage, his love for his family, his generosity.

My son bought me a beautiful car before he left for Iraq so he could know I was driving safely while he was gone and he paid for it with his combat pay.

He is the most naturally cool young man you’d ever meet. His value system is strong, his spirit is strong. He has little tolerance for fuss over anything he has accomplished. He would be angry to know this family was being torn apart in the media by assumptions and down right lies.

Our family has been completely and abundantly blessed by every kind of support from our family, friends and the outreach from the community.

The Bollea’s are simply people in this group.

I can not begin to thank our community for how they have carried us on their shoulders from restaurants, dentists, Palm Harbor Elementary school, my son’s Marine buddy’s who will begin a 2nd tour of duty in Iraq in the fall are here.

Debbie Graziano considers the Bolleas part of her extended family. His best friend Danny, the driver in the other car is , devastated. His other best friend Mike who leaves for Marine boot camp in one week.

My friends, my brother Chris, John’s grandparents, John and Catherine, and his Uncle John who all flew down from New York.

The amount of people who are here for John is overwhelming to me. Pastor Peter, who is storming the gates of heaven as he leads us in around the clock prayer for our John.

I thank my saviour Jesus Christ for providing for every need through his people and giving me the peace that passes all human understanding.

After him I want to thank my children who have blessed me from their birth and surrounded me with their love now they are caring for me.

At this point my John would be saying, “ Mom, too many words.”

So I’ll close with this, we are two families who love John, it was a horrific accident.

Nick is experiencing every step in the process with us. His parents are holding him accountable as any good parent would. He is a 17 year old who is suffering watching his friend you can imagine how he feels.

Terry and Linda are doing everything to remove any burden from me so my only focus is John. Out of their love for John, period.

Thank you and please continue to pray.

Debbie Graziano

What's funny is on one of the recent “Hogan Knows Best” shows, some group in NYC gave Hogan a father of the year award.

He was driving close to 100 mph on streets with 40 mph speed limit.

There is so much more to this story than is obvious from a 100 word TV station blurb.

Hulk's kid has a really bad driving history and has been let off lightly because he is Hulk's son. There is an excessive amount of celebrity worship in Florida, even among law enforcement.

In fact, Nick bragged that he was stopped by the Highway Patrol doing over 100 mph and they let him go just a warning:

Bollea's 100 MPH Speeding Got Warning, Not Ticket

"[Nick] Bollea, who also goes by the name Nick Hogan, said in the interview that he was on his way from Miami to Clearwater when he was pulled over for driving 107 mph and let go because the law enforcement agent recognized him.

'The guy let me off,' Bollea is quoted as saying. 'He's like, 'Hey, I know who you are, just keep going, ya know.' '

Minutes later, Bollea said in the interview, he was pulled over by a highway patrol officer for doing 113. He quotes the officer saying, 'I just heard on the radio that my buddy pulled you over and let you go. I'ma let you go this time. It's your second warning. You get pulled over again, you're probably going to jail.'

Three minutes after that, Bollea told the magazine, he was doing 123 mph in a 50 mph zone and was stopped again. This time he quotes an officer saying, 'Hey, I just heard you got pulled over twice in the last 10 minutes. I got to write you a ticket.'

When Dodson of the FHP was asked to check Bollea's claims, he found that on Sept. 17, 2006, about 11 a.m., Bollea was stopped twice - not three times - and on the second occasion, he received a $305.50 ticket.

The first time Bollea was stopped, a trooper gave him a stern warning and said, 'Look, you need to slow down,' Lt. Dodson said.

After Bollea continued driving west along Alligator Alley, a wide-open toll-road along Interstate 75, the trooper made a cell phone call to a partner positioned farther west and informed him about the stop, Dodson said.

During the conversation, Bollea blew past the second trooper, Dodson said. The trooper caught up with him and issued the ticket. This time, Bollea was going 115 mph in a 70 mph zone, Dodson said.

The two stops were 19 miles apart.
Adjudication in the case was eventually withheld.
Since then, Bollea has been stopped for speeding at least three times.

In February, he was cited for driving 57 mph in a 30 mph zone in Dade County, but adjudication was withheld. In April, he was clocked driving 106 mph in a 70 mph zone in Osceola County. He was convicted and four points were added to his driving record.

And on Aug. 10, 16 days before the Clearwater wreck, Bollea was ticketed for traveling 82 mph on a stretch of U.S. 19 that was under construction. The speed limit was 45 mph, a copy of the ticket says. Bollea also wasn't wearing a seat belt, records say."

If you happened to catch the Hogan Knows Best episode where the kid was given a high buck car to enter actual drifting races....the kid can’t drive. The other competitors didnt want anything to do with him.
