Countries urged to see 'true face' of Dalai Lama

By Qin Jize (China Daily)

Updated: 2008-03-26 07:10

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang yesterday again urged the international community to see the Dalai Lama's "true face" and offer no support for his secessionist activities.

Qin made the remarks in response to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's recent call for China to consider a new policy to address the Tibet issue and to start talks with the Dalai Lama.

US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi also visited the Dalai Lama last week.

Qin said the position of just a few countries did not represent that of the international community.

More than 100 nations have expressed their support and understanding of the Chinese government's attitude to protecting the lives and property of its citizens from violent riots, he said.

Qin said the central government's policy toward the Dalai Lama is consistent and explicit, saying it not only listens to what he says but, more importantly, observes what he does.

China yesterday also criticized a British newspaper's report that linked the Beijing Olympics with the Berlin Games of 1936, saying the story is an insult to Chinese citizens and to the people of the world.

A report published in the British newspaper the Sunday Times said China is holding the Olympics for the same reason Adolf Hitler did in 1936, as an opportunity to collect accolades.

Qin said the Beijing Olympics is a magnificent sports meeting, and people from all nations have expressed their wishes to use it as an opportunity to enhance global understanding, friendship and cooperation.

"The Olympic torch symbolizes humankind's noble ideals and beautiful aspirations," Qin said.

" It also casts light on the gloomy mentality of some people, which will help the common people see their true face," he said.

"The Beijing Olympic Games must be a success with all the efforts made by the people of the

My personal opinion is that both of you represent the same programmed mindset, you both are charging at flags based on hate. At first is was the Europeans, next the Indians, then Africans followed by Communist, Bin Laden and brown skin people and now the Chinese.

Listen, the US is morally, financially, spiritually going to her lowest levels in history and there are no leaders, the family unit is disintegrating and the only thing America had that other countries didn’t have was the quality of life, which Scandinavia has quickly surpassed America.

So you two keep up the good work of hunting down all ChiCom like myself who write poorly and are fools by being brainwashed by China. The founding fathers would be proud of the both of you.

Hate? That is the silliest thing I’ve been accused of yet. You are simply ignorant of the subject at hand. It really shows.

I know you were just lashing out in a knee jerk fashion with anything that popped into your mind but I am curious; where did you come up with the idea that I had ever attacked Europeans, Indians (American or Asian?) and Africans? Apart from a few cracks about the French I don't think you could find one post in my eight years here that would remotely fit that description. Brown skinned people either.

As for Bin Laden I don't need to apologize in the least for wanting him dead as dead can be do I? That remark reveals a lot about you.

Just as I attempted to say that the perception of Tibetans was that the Dalai Lama is "God" and this perception is used my the Mafia like Dalai Lama to control the people, the perception of "someone or somebody" to hate has always been a part of the American sub-consciousness more than their European counterparts (while other cultures are not as socially Darwinistically evolved). So while the country crumbles internally, external hate seems to be a stronger force than internal reflection, self-analysis and long term planning.

Moreover, my initial comment was in response to this part of the article...

US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi also visited the Dalai Lama last week.

in which I said the following....

I tend to think the Dalai Lama are to Tibetans and a better life in Tibet as a part of China as Black preachers are to Black America and a better local life in the greater America. It's no wonder the Democratic elite love the Dalai Lama.

So based on your....

As for Bin Laden I don't need to apologize in the least for wanting him dead as dead can be do I? That remark reveals a lot about you.

my response is that my initial comment says a lot about me and my respect and admiration for a forum like Free Republic means that one needs to validate statements made (comment 22) if a fellow Freeper needs clarification and one must reframe from personal attracks.

This very uninformed opinion of the Dalai Lama, and by extension Buddhism and Tibetans, is a very good example of the externalized hatred you describe in the rest of your post.

I have no idea what that sentence means. Nor can I see any connection to accusing me of hating Europeans, Indians, Africans, brown skinned people and least of all how Osama bin Laden fits into any of it. The rest I addressed in my last post and it was that bigoted view that I took issue with.

Like Judaism, Christianity and African rhythms and expressionism, I personally like Buddhism. At a personal level, my family values are mostly Jewish, my lifestyle with my family can be described as Spanish Catholicism (I just love to drink alcohol everyday), I love to dance and express myself but I want to live based on peace, love and understanding. I like a balanced life, like living in the eye of the hurricane. But if either force dominates, then I don't like it. So I tend not to like the Dalai Lama and all "strongly enforced" religions.

But again, the objective of my initial statement was to draw attention to Black America and US politics and away from the Dalai Lama.

I simply care about America and Americans values and, by extension, integrating the best of American values in Europe based on my understanding of European values. I tend to think if we create a great civilized society then other societies will be forced to duplicate it as their citizens will demand it. In short, do we really need to intervene into the internal matters of Bhutan or will its people realize that they need to change given the quality of life of Western Civilization? Did we have to continue to fight with Gaddafi or did his son convince him that Westerners live better and we should at least integrate their some of their values into our society? And so it peacefully continues.....

There is nothing "strongly enforced" about Tibetan Buddhism. The Dalai Lama issues no orders or instructions to Buddhists other than his personal students and they have entered into a student teacher relationship voluntarily. You are free to hold the opinion you do but it is entirely false.

I suppose our retaliatory attack and sanctions on Gaddafi had nothing to do with his son’s change of mind and he just coincidentally gave up his WMD program after we invaded Iraq? Whatever. That still doesn’t explain your accusations against me.

Can you believe this statement? This ChiCom is actually shrilling for Osama Bin Laden!! Wow. He thinks OBL is the target of unreasonable American hatred. You’re right, TigersEye - we do have a Chairman Mao-Jeremiah Wright liberation theologist here.

“So you two keep up the good work of hunting down all ChiCom like myself who write poorly and are fools by being brainwashed by China.”

I am going to wear that as a badge of honor.

Give it up, Kipita. You might as well be having this debate with a brick wall because you’re arguing with someone who thinks he knows everything after allegedly meeting a few lamas, reading a few books and scrolling through Wikipedia.

Kipita is long lost out there somewhere, but then again, so are you. It’s quite humorous that you would have the audacity to tell someone else they have no idea what they’re talking about.

Way to go, Dr. Marten. Look at the company you are keeping and who you are defending. Kipita is a ChiCom troll who thinks that Bin Laden is persecuted by White America (the latter is implied in his bizarre post upthread).

Kipita’s post is almost entirely representative of the pro-Chinese genocide posters that post here.

Funny, I scrolled through this thread, and the only ones I see citing Wiki on this thread are you and kipita.

Take a bow, fellow FReepers. ChiCom shrill and Osama Bin Laden supporter, kipita, has paid the ChiCom Troll Hunting Society the ultimate compliment.

My response was directed at Tigerseye. I hadn't read any of kipita's comments before-hand and nor am I familiar with this fella. I am however familiar with TigersEye's M.O. and his self-proclaimed expertise on all things Tibetan.
