Countries urged to see 'true face' of Dalai Lama

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang yesterday again urged the international community to see the Dalai Lama's "true face" and offer no support for his secessionist activities.
Qin made the remarks in response to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's recent call for China to consider a new policy to address the Tibet issue and to start talks with the Dalai Lama.
US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi also visited the Dalai Lama last week.
Qin said the position of just a few countries did not represent that of the international community.
More than 100 nations have expressed their support and understanding of the Chinese government's attitude to protecting the lives and property of its citizens from violent riots, he said.
Qin said the central government's policy toward the Dalai Lama is consistent and explicit, saying it not only listens to what he says but, more importantly, observes what he does.
China yesterday also criticized a British newspaper's report that linked the Beijing Olympics with the Berlin Games of 1936, saying the story is an insult to Chinese citizens and to the people of the world.
A report published in the British newspaper the Sunday Times said China is holding the Olympics for the same reason Adolf Hitler did in 1936, as an opportunity to collect accolades.
Qin said the Beijing Olympics is a magnificent sports meeting, and people from all nations have expressed their wishes to use it as an opportunity to enhance global understanding, friendship and cooperation.
"The Olympic torch symbolizes humankind's noble ideals and beautiful aspirations," Qin said.
" It also casts light on the gloomy mentality of some people, which will help the common people see their true face," he said.

I tend to think the Dalai Lama are to Tibetans and a better life in Tibet as a part of China as Black preachers are to Black America and a better local life in the greater America. It's no wonder the Democratic elite love the Dalai Lama.

Again, in comment #22, I addressed that issue. From the perspective of many Taiwanese friends (again, comment #22 which reflects pre-Civil War China), the West is simple to understand, first religion then gunpowder. So the counter argument would be how many people has religion killed in the history of mankind?
In addition, being in Europe, most people want to know why Americans hate people who have been different than them throughout its history and until today. When one tries to explain the complexities most people don't understand "shades of gray" and would rather if things were explained in a "black and white" sort of way. I tend to think "black and white" explanations are a thing of the past and gray complexities are the future. So I've analyzed and criticized China, Taiwan, the Dalai Lama, US presidential politics, black America and "black and white analysis" but the black side of issues will say I'm on the white side and the white side will probably say I'm on the black side so I tend the think the best solution is for black and white to continue to kill each other forever and I'll still be gray, living in a gray society in southern Spain in peace.

Actually, minus many Dixiecrats, I defend American conservatives as I tend to think they made the world a better place. But I think the Republican party is infested with Dixiecrats and true American conservatives represent about 10% of Americans but they are usually marginalized and somewhat powerless based on votes. Of course most of my European friends are convinced I’m really here working for the CIA and gathering intelligence. I guess if I were “smart” I’d say “yea man, I ain’t nothin but a poo black man from Nawlins who dem dam white racist Americans treated like an animal so...” But I’ll remain gray and blame the problems of black Americans on black Americans and the problems of conservative Americans on Dixiecrats.

Reagan Democrats are still Democrats and it was Reagan’s “grayness” that made him so great. Moreover, I’ve never in any of my statements promoted communism. I simply think communism is one of the worst forms of government. But the Dalai Lama has said that he’s half Buddist/half Communist.

Reagan simply inspired people to be better individuals and was committed to the human condition, which is why he wanted to end communism. One only has to compare Eastern Europe to Western Europe to understand the evils of communism. Osama Bin Laden has no meaning in my life and I can't understand why he means anything to anyone.

That does not make him 'gray'. Far from it, at the time, he was pitch black in his opposition to communism and his desire to end it. Most of the establishment at the time thought communism was either inevitable or should be appeased. Few thought it could be halted in our lifetimes.
