Announcement:
Watch me respond to Sen. Obama at 12:30pm ET today By Newt Gingrich
As promised last week, I'm responding to Senator Obama's recent speech from Philadelphia with a speech at the American Enterprise Institute today. You can read more about the speech here.
We just found out that C-SPAN 2 will be covering the speech, LIVE. You can watch it on your TV or at the c-span website, www.c-span.org.
I do not find either person acceptable. Between a fruitcake liberal republican and a whore-mongering republican with a history of cozying up to Hillary there is no choice.
“can you honestly say you wouldn’t accept Gingrich as Republican nominee in a heartbeat when the alternative is John McCain?”
Without a doubt, but Newt’s day is over. As a potential candidate, he has nothing to realistically offer, and too much baggage.
I was bowled over by Newt's deeply radical solution for education and his bold attack on the NEA.
I've raised two children and managed to get them well-educated despite the public education system. His proposals strike directly at the heart at this souless, aimless warehousing of our youth.
While not of quite the same caliber, Newt is our dumbed-down generation's version of Bill Buckley.
Newt should be President.

Oh, I disagree. Two completely different individuals with different talents and strengths. Buckley was a philosopher. Gingrich is an historian. His genius lies in his ability to comprehend the operations of institutions and systemic cultural weaknesses.
Oh, I agree. They are not the same.
But both have much the same purpose. To stay on the outside as a critical observer and use keen insight to promote conservative values.
I'm rediscovering Gingrich. I admired his leadership in Congress. We haven't seen anything like it since.
His "Platform of the American People" is so full of common sense, you'd read and think, "If we accomplished this, what would we have to argue about?"
His Real Change concept -- The whole idea of reforming government institutions from their 19th and 20th century, New Deal formats into leaner, more technologically advanced systems that address 21st century social demands just fascinates me.
