The Uighers go back a long way. The Mongols adopted Uigher script for their own language when the they conquered the Uighers under Chinnghis Quan. They may also have provided him with his first civil service [ before the Chin in North China.

I forget if they were Muslim when the Mongols rode over them. They may have been,in toto or, in part. The Keraits, who Chinnghis, then Temujin, also conquered at about the same time, were Nestorian Christians.Whatever they were, the Mongols would have let them worship in their own way.

A simple search below shows *extensive* jihadi relationships within Uighur separatist and Jihadist groups operating in the Afghanistan area. Which part of ‘muslim jihadist’ is non-stereotypical here ?

The Han Chinese are ethnically cleansing Uyghurs, Tibetens, Manchus, and Mongols. Of course there is terrorism, but it pales to that created by the Maoists.
