Aw, camels are the coolest.
Lots of camels died last year in Saudi Arabia under similar circumstances. Some sheep & cows, too. I think I remember them saying that it was some mold on the feed, aflatoxin or something.
I know the city Saudis resent the compensation to the camel herders, but it’s their main source of income.

The fact that they’ve been so quiet about kinda made me think it might be bird flu, since they don’t want to alarm people, since bird flu has already been found in Saudi Arabia. The hajj in Mecca every year is breeding grounds for bird flu to spread; if anyone is infected, there are millions of people there to contract it, and then it spreads when they go home....
But it’s good to know the camel thing is related to food instead.
