(Vanity) Urgent Prayer Request - Friend's son hit by car

My dear friend's 20 y/o son was hit by a car on Monday and is in critical condition. Though he survived the first 48 hours, and he is a strong young man, he suffered extensive brain trauma and the prognosis is not good.

My friend, the boy's Dad, is a mighty Rock of a man, a NYPD survivor of 9/11 and recently retired, but needs prayer for strength to help him and his boy through this.

Prayers for the family, please, for strength, and to accept the Lord's answer, whatever that may be.

Most Gracious Heavenly Father, look with mercy upon this Dad's beloved son, so desperately injured, yet sustained by Your Grace through these critical hours. Overrule, I pray, the prognosis of man, for You, alone, O Lord, are the Great Physician. Heal this young man, from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet, for the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells within the Christian and makes alive our mortal bodies. May comfort and encouragement be the father's portion through these coming days, that he might yet testify of the marvelous works that You have done for his precious son.

Have them put on praise music in the room, and remind them to not “receive” any words that contradict his healing and health restoration, regardless of who it is from. Good News!! I just spoke to Greg’s Dad, he’s hanging in there and is more responsive.

They still have him heavily medicated and are monitoring the pressure on his brain, but he’s moving his hands and is “there.” They removed a shallow drain from his brain and he did *not* like that, showing a strong response to the discomfort.

He is still on the respirator because one of his lungs is badly bruised but he is breathing on it, it isn’t breathing *for* him.
