Manipulative. Shameful. Race-baiting. Those are the only words to describe.......... Reverend Wright
To: freerepublic_or_die
So let me get this straight, New York Times. It’s perfectly acceptable for your profession to run these same clips of Reverend Wright and then have scholarly round table discussion over whether or not Barack Obama is “too extreme” to be elected because of it. And it is within bounds for Hillary Clinton to bring up Reverend Wright and say that she would have left his church because his views were “too extreme” for her. But when the North Carolina GOP runs an ad featuring one of these clips of Reverend Wright and declares that Barack Obama is “too extreme” for North Carolina, it is suddenly is “manipulative shameful race-baiting”?
What am I missing here?

"We have said before that we find Rev. Wrights oratory racist. And we have criticized Senator Obama for waiting too long to denounce it. His relationship with the Rev. Wright is undeniably a liability for his campaign."
Wow, so we can agree that Obambi's self-selected pastor of 20 YEARS is a ranting racist. The ad happens not even to be about his racism but about his depraved anti-American schtick, another contemptible aspect of the toxic stew of far-left and "black nationalist" ranting represented by Jeremiah Wright.
So the NY Times is incoherent to recognize the depravity of Rev. Wright but to denounce an ad critical of him and his supporters. In reality the editors want to be able to tut-tut Obama and Wright without any political consequences. Yes, the guy is a ranting racist, but no one else is allowed to criticize him, or to critize Obama for being BFF with him.

Don’t even try to be logical when discussing the NY Slimes. It will only result in a headache.

I would believe what I read in Pravda before I believe what I hear is printed in the NY Slimes.

"Manipulative." Isn't that the intent of every ad? If an ad isn't able to manipulate its viewers, it's useless. Of course the Times means "informative" when it says "manipulative," and providing accurate information is anathema to the NYT.
To: freerepublic_or_die
Just like 1988 and Willie Horton. The ad has nothing at all to do with race. That is pure nonsense. An accusation with not even the slightest hint of a possibility of a clue of fact.
As usual, the only people making an issue of Race here are the wack job Leftists in the supposed “Objective” Media. Another example of the slavish allegiance of our supposed “Journalists” to the political dictates of the Democrat National Committee

Obama is as far left as you can get in the U.S. Senate, to the left of avowed socialist Bernie Saunders; Karl Marx couldn’t get to his left with a voting record in the U.S. Senate. If there were more socialist bills in the U.S. Senate, there’s no reason to think he would not vote for them. What is wrong with calling that extreme?

"The assertion that Mr. Obama is just too extreme for North Carolina is a clear bid to stir bigotry in a Southern state." It's deplorable that anyone would try to hide this information from the American public.
The southern states, of all the American geographical areas, has every right to know when someone is displaying racism...the label has been all too easily shoved down their throats for decades.

Typical MSM ... blame the messenger (ad) and not the people who spoke it. When has the Slimes ever condemned hateful and racist words or acts of Blacks towards whites on anything?
