I know all about Brown's Gas. Please explain why a new use for this well known gas is being attacked. I know BIG oil hates alternative fuels. They attack any new ideas. But HHO gas runs on either gasoline engines or diesels.

Looks to me like this fuel may be the answer to high energy costs. Fuel economy jumps through the roof using when HHO and diesel in hybrid cars.

Because it is a scam. You cannot spend energy to separate Hydrogen and Oxygen molecules from water via electrolysis without spending more energy than the combustion of the same hydrogen and oxygen produces.

If it was otherwise, you could condense the water vapor and build a perpetual motion machine.

It it produces more energy than it takes, why do those systems need gasoline at all?

Add to your logic, that so-called “bolt on hydrogen fuel module” that you supposedly run effortlessly on distilled water in your garage.

This is that “Zero-Sum energy” we hear about that uses almost no energy and produces unlimited power. Except for the fact that nobody cares to mention what produces the electricity to make it happen, or the amount of energy it takes to distill water. But then we are supposed to consider that as invisible, non consequential or magical because all of this vast energy just popped out of thin air. Much like the dreamers who believe this fairy tale.

Brown's Gas works perfectly as a substitute for acetylene gas. Mr. Brown received a patent on his HHO gas in 1978. If the gas was a 'scam' no patent would have issued.

Funny you should mention a gasoline bubble. I've mentioned this to a couple people in discussions lately. With speculators driving the price of crude and hence the products derived from crude, I've been thinking of the current situation as another bubble caused by speculators. If it is another bubble, it would have such dire financial consequences worldwide that people would soon forget the real estate bubble burst that was mostly confined to the USA.

Any FReepers with enough economics background willing to write why the crude oil speculation should, or should not be viewed as another bubble that will burst?
