Dr. Hale showed us that in comparing African-American children and European-American children in the field of education, we were comparing apples and rocks.
And in so doing, we kept coming up with meaningless labels like EMH, educable mentally handicapped, TMH, trainable mentally handicapped, ADD, attention deficit disorder.
And we were coming up with more meaningless solutions like reading, writing and Ritalin. Dr. Hale's research led her to stop comparing African-American children with European-American children and she started comparing the pedagogical methodologies of African-American children to African children and European-American children to European children. And bingo, she discovered that the two different worlds have two different ways of learning. European and European-American children have a left brained cognitive object oriented learning style and the entire educational learning system in the United States of America. Back in the early '70s, when Dr. Hale did her research was based on left brained cognitive object oriented learning style. Let me help you with fifty cent words.
Left brain is logical and analytical. Object oriented means the student learns from an object. From the solitude of the cradle with objects being hung over his or her head to help them determine colors and shape to the solitude in a carol in a PhD program stuffed off somewhere in a corner in absolute quietness to absorb from the object. From a block to a book, an object. That is one way of learning, but it is only one way of learning.
African and African-American children have a different way of learning.
They are right brained, subject oriented in their learning style. Right brain that means creative and intuitive. Subject oriented means they learn from a subject, not an object. They learn from a person. Some of you are old enough, I see your hair color, to...

Is it ok yet to discuss the Bell Curve as legitimate?
I wonder how much the Communists (or NWO or Liberals or ACLU or Illuminati or Bilderbergers or international bankers or the Rockefeller Foundation or all of them together) are paying Jeremiah Wrong to stir up racial trouble and I wonder if he gets as much Sharpton?
Obamas mentor and part time crazy uncle - racist Reverend Wright is back. And with a bang no less.
With words from the past - NOT TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT - which include Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.”
Old Barry the messiah must be mightily puckered up about now. LOL ...
This is the well Obama has been drinking deeply from for the last 20+ years and it marks him for who he is.

"Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love."

“Igor, fetch me a good Transylvanian brain! And make sure you don’t bring me one of those illogical, creative African ones!”
As we say in Texas: He crapped in his hat.
By golly, sounds like good old-fashioned, racist Social Darwinism, and you really don't want to go there, Jeremiah. For example:
"Left brain is logical and analytical..."
and so the alleged lack thereof among your race results in the chaos, corruption and underachievement that defines every single African-ruled nation (and US city)?
Another part of his speech:
“Please run and tell my stuck on stupid friends that Arabic is a language, it’s not a religion. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. They are Arabic-speaking Christians, Arabic-speaking Jews and Arabic speaking atheists. Arabic is a language, it’s not a religion. Stop trying to scare folks by giving them an Arabic name as if it’s some sort of a disease.”
****
Arabic-speaking atheists? I doubt if Muslims in Islamic countries are out to embrace these “atheists” in loving, tolerant fellowship...
It might be that excellence in Ebonics is inimical to learniCs and the three R’s.
From what I gather, people in public education are taking these ideas seriously, no kidding
When they were desegregated in Philadelphia, several of the white teachers in my school freaked out. Why? Because black kids wouldn't stay in their place. Over there behind the desk, black kids climbed up all on them.
That's how my Hispanic students are too. But it's not genetic, it's cultural.
Here's the thing: ANYBODY can learn from a person. It's the EASY way, to have someone there to answer your questions rather than having to find out the answer yourself. Students capable of searching for the answers in books, or with experiments, are also the students capable of holding a thought till the appropriate moment.
Slack students blurt out a question the minute it occurs to them, won't look at the directions, won't search for the answer, and basically require a personal tutor to get them through even the simplest tasks.
But again I say, this is not a DIFFERENT way of learning. Anyone can learn that way. It's the EASY way.
Having said that, it is like saying that the grass is green and the sky is blue. It is true. It was true. That's a fact, no denying it, so...I'm guessing the sticking point is the apology. For each of us to make an apology for those we never knew, may have been related to by the luck of insemination, had no control over seems a bit of a stretch. I'm sorry my forebears were sinners. I'm sorry my government and those of other co-conspirators (African/Arabian, to boot) were so bereft of moral fiber that they could entertain the possibility, much less the reality of slavery. I can't tell you how much I'm sorry (and a bit embarrassed) for what happened.
Having said that, where do we go from here? I suppose we can keep it up ad infinitum, but the bottom line for Christians is, “You must forgive. For as you have judged, so shall you be judged.” I say I'm sorry. I mean it. My heart is grieved and I have lived my life to make every African American I meet a better person. I have respected, opened my heart and arms to each one I have encountered. For my part, the ball is in their court. I didn't have a dog in this fight. I took it upon myself to offer the best I have in reparation — all that I am and have. How much is enough?
This is a thorny problem that most of us are being faced with, and it appears the only people who haven't made the attempt are those who are most keenly affected by that indifference.
Mr. Wright simply re-states the problems and appears to be profiting from the constant restatement of those problems. He has no solutions. He is caught in the quagmire of collective anguish and appears to have become comfortable there. God willing, Mr. Wright will understand that forgiveness isn't a suggestion — it's a commandment. No option.
“...slavery debaucher...” should have read “slavery debacle” (I really hate spell check in this system). It was, however, a form of debauchery as well.

Thanks for the link.
The good Rev is proof, PROOF I tell you that UFOs ARE REAL...!!!!
They couldn’t stand his BS and so they dumped here on Earth. I wish they (the UFO dudes) would come and take him back to whatever universe he came from......
It’s not learning.
Ah, now I understand why Obama said he thought education needed reworking...the Rev said so!
Okay, asking all over, if anyone has a transcript of wright’s 9-11 speech, “the chickens have come home to roost”..
Curious sentence. What's he trying to say here? That obama speaks arabic? Or that obama is an arab?
And what does he mean by stop trying to scare folks by giving them an Arabic name as if it's some sort of a disease...
obama CHOSE call himself BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA to identify with his Kenyan father.
READING BWTEEN THE LINES. LINK.
The question no one wants to answer - particularly Mr. Obama and his supporters, is, "Why do you think he has an Arabic name? Why does his father have an Arabic name? Why does every ancestor on his father's side have an Arabic name?"
The answer is obvious: They have Arabic names because his father's side of the family tree is Arabic.
And the 'reverend' Wright knows it!
Your analogy doesn’t fit.
My grandmother was born a Canadian Methodist in 1906, Ontario. She was raised Christian by her parents, lived a Christian life and died a Christian at the age of 91.
Her mother named her Leila, a common Arabic name.
Her mother had no ties to the Arabic world, but liked the sound of the name.
There are children on my street that have Arabic names, and yet they go to Christian churches and have no contact with the Arabic world.
In America, people are commonly given names that do not fit with their nationality, their religion or their culture. Many black families name their children these Arabic names without realizing any connection between a name and a Middle Eastern culture. They use these names and believe that they are part of an African-American culture.
Obama did not name himself. His parents did. But, in using his given name is not dishonoring anyone. If he didn’t use his given name many would say, “What his he trying to hide! We know what his first name truly is!” He is using the name given to him by birth, a decision he had no say in.
You are trying to divine the meaning of his given name. Do you know what his mother’s thoughts were when she named him that name? Tell me if you can why he named one of his daughters Natasha. When he did so, was he honoring a Russian culture?
I gave my daughter a French name, and it was the first name of a significant teacher in my life. This teacher’s first name was Andrea and she was Jewish with Russian ancestry. Our family is neither French, Russian or Jewish. There is no cultural significance in the giving of this name. There is only the significance that my husband and I liked the name and I remember my teacher fondly when I smile at my daughter.
Sometimes a name is just a name.
Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (itll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.
Moreover, Mr. Obamas own grandfather in Kenya was a Muslim. Mr. Obama never met his grandfather and says he isnt sure if his grandfathers two wives were simultaneous or consecutive, or even if he was Sunni or Shiite. (O.K., maybe Mr. Obama should just give up on Alabama.)...
I do not condone Wright’s church or Obama’s connection to it.
And yet, he doesn’t belong to Farrakhan’s group, nor do he and his wife worship at a Mosque.
I believe Obama connected with Wright in order to establish a bond with African-Americans. It may cost him politically, but the white Christians in Iowa who voted for Obama were probably more concerned about ethanol when they voted, or a Democratic ticket, than they were with Wright’s rhetoric, or Obama’s religious affiliation.
For example, his brother Roy opted for Islam over Christianity, as Obama recounted when describing his 1992 wedding.
The person who made me proudest of all, Obama wrote, was Roy. Actually, now we call him Abongo, his Luo name, for two years ago he decided to reassert his African heritage. He converted to Islam, and has sworn off pork and tobacco and alcohol.
Abongo Roy Obama is a Luo activist and a militant Muslim who argues that the black man must liberate himself from the poisoning influences of European culture. He urges his younger brother to embrace his African heritage.

Yes, and my uncle is a devout Buddhist and a personal friend of the Dalai Lama. (No joke.)
I do not adhere to his religion, but as an American, I support his right to practice it.
Loving a family member does not mean that you share the same beliefs about God, necessarily. It means accepting your loved one as they are. Obama accepts his brother. That does not mean that he and his brother attend mosque together.
Yeah, and after five generations it's a tradition.
Documentation of his actual ethnic background demonstrates Mr. Obama is not an African-American as defined in United States law. This research was initiated by a request from a daily news publication of international reputation in New York City.
The story then moves to documenting his fathers genealogy. This study indicates Sen. Obama is actually Arab-American. The significance of this is that the soul and substance of Mr. Obamas claim to fame rest entirely on his being the first African-American to achieve whatever it is that Mr. Obama is claiming at the time. If Mr. Obama is not legally an African-American, then his claims collapse. While there may still be historic firsts, for example, being the first Arab-American to be the president of the Harvard Law Review, those claims are not the star-appeal of his entire political life, and the basis of his current celebrity star status. If he is not African-American, then he is not what has propelled him up the political ladder; he is not, as described by one journalist riding Mr. Obamas campaign plane, what is currently capturing Americas cult attention.
Wright’s comments yesterday :
“Louis Farrakhan is not my enemy. He did not put me in chains, he did not put me in slavery, and he didn’t make me this color.”
That line wouldn't work half as well for him in Australia where most people I know have as much SUNTAN as he has COLOUR!
What a freakin' FRAUD!
Obama, March 18: “I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community.”
Wright, April 28: “This is not an attack on Jeremiah Wright. It is an attack on the black church.”
Wright was born in Philadelphia in 1941.
Was slavery allowed in Philadelphia in 1941 ?
Who put Wright... “in chains” and “in slavery” ?
The only chains and slavery there are, exist within BLACK THEOLOGY!
BLACK THEOLOGY is nothing but a mental prison designed to keep the congregation (black sheep) in control while fleecing them!
Wright approves of Farrakhan as he “is not my enemy”
Second, remember that lifetime award and their trips together ?

Quotes from Louis Farrakhan
Louis Farrakhan has a talent for provocation that has won him many enemies and vast publicity. Here are some of his pronouncements
“White people are potential humans - they haven’t evolved yet.”
Philadelphia Inquirer, March 2000
“They [the Jews] are the greatest controllers of black minds, black intelligence. They write the scripts - the foolish scripts on television that our people portray. They are the movie moguls that feature us in these silly, degrading, degenerate roles.
“The great recording companies that portray our people in such a filthy and low-rating way, yet they would not allow such a man as Michael Jackson to say one word that they thought would besmirch their reputation, but they put us before the world as clowns and as purveyors of filth. No, I will fight that.”
Meet The Press interview, October 1998
“The Jews have been so bad at politics they lost half their population in the Holocaust. They thought they could trust in Hitler, and they helped him get the Third Reich on the road.”
Saviours’ Day speech, Chicago, February 1998
“Of course, they [the Jews] have a very small number of people but they are the most powerful in the world, they have the power to do good and they have the power to do evil ... Now what do the Jews do best? Well, they have been the best in finance that the world has ever known ...
“They finance a lot of stuff in the world, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but they are not good politicians, they are the worst politicians because they don’t recognise really their friends and as well their enemies ... “
Saviours’ Day speech, Chicago, February 1998
“It seems like being gay or whatever sin you wish to be a part of is okay ... but I have the duty to lift that gay person up to the standard to ask if they want to live the life that God wants them to or live the lifestyle that they want to live.”
Boston speech, August 1997
“I believe that for the small numbers of Jewish people in the United States, they exercise a tremendous amount of influence on the affairs of government ...Yes, they exercise extraordinary control, and black people will never be free in this country until they are free of that kind of control ... “
Meet The Press interview, April 1997
“I don’t own Hollywood. Who depicted black people? Who writes the books? Who writes the plays, the songs that make us look less than human? Do you mean to tell me that Jews have never done any evil to black people? ...
“Were they not involved in the slave trade? Yes, they were ... and to the extent that they were involved, somebody has to bring them to account. And I believe that has fallen on me.”
Interview with New York Amsterdam News, January 1994

Malik Zulu Shabazz and members of the New Black Panther Party at Saviours' Day 2007 in Detroit, MI.
JERUSALEM Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. demonstrated he is a “man of principle” by sticking to his teachings of “black liberation theology” during today’s highly publicized session with the news media, Malik Zulu Shabazz, national chairman of the New Black Panther Party, told WND in an interview.
Shabazz, who was at the National Press Club event in Washington for Sen. Barack Obama’s pastor of 20 years , said he was particularly proud of Wright’s defense of Nation of Islam head Louis Farrakhan.

Sorry ... Moyers and Wright.
The African-American culture defines their identity alone. They do not necessarily look up the US laws when they do so.
In the African-American community, they do not usually embrace those of African decent who immigrate here from the Caribbean Islands or South America. In the eyes of African-Americans, there is a distinction. Remarkably, in terms of their ties to Africa, most of them would find that their lineages are similar. This does not matter when it comes to inclusion. African-Americans simply see themselves as a different group of “Africans” than those in the southern regions of the Americas.
Not to mention, Egypt, an Arabic country, is in Africa, for goodness sakes! Many members of the African-American culture identify with the history of Egyptians, rightly or wrongly. They embrace this culture because of its location on the African continent. They embrace it because it is more prosperous than Sudan. They embrace it because of its rich history and they want to tie themselves to the Pharoahs and a prosperous time in African history. This is their right, as a group.
When a specific group forms, they set up their own identifiers that separate themselves from others. This is their right, regardless if the group is something as non-raced based as the local SPCA, or the Afrocentric NAACP.
If you asked Obama, he would say he is an African-American, even if his bloodline doesn’t support it. He is desperate to be identified with this group, because it will carry him through to the nomination. I doubt he wants much attention paid to any Arabic ancestry.
And frankly, because he was born in America he has every right to aspire to rise to the presidency. Nothing about his ancestors changes his nationality, and his ancestry is not a threat to him.
Most of those who are voting for him do so because they vote in lock step with the Democratic party, it is that simple. They are not curious about his ancestry, nor do they hold it against him.
If nothing else, much of black America sees him as a hopeful sign for their futures. They disregard Wright because they see Obama as one of them who has risen to the most exclusive club in the world, the US Senate. They see his senate seat as a launching pad to the White House.
His goal is to be America’s first black president, much to Bill Clinton’s chagrin and he very well may succeed.
Well at least these guys where not under heavy sniper fire stepping off a plane. What’s their gripe.</sarc>
