All of the ratings that I quoted are for the most recent year for which those groups announced their ratings, 2007 or ‘06.

I see and hear more deep seeded anger every day than I have every heard in my life.

Yeah. For me it all boils down to this inept leadership and punitive, destructive government.

My cynicism and disgust for them has really ratcheted up...And my contempt for them has become quite ugly.

To a certain degree I agree but I still think if DH had say Haley Barbour's type presence he would have gone further. As far a McCain could not agree more. He can't even remember who's a$$ he showed up to kiss.

Are you sure some of them are not lifetime?

I kind of let my fantasies control my fingers as I typed that. However, I do not believe we should feel restrained by an agreement made with a nation no longer in existence nearly 50 years ago. If it is in our national interest to invade Cuba and restore democratic government, then we should do it.

If that case comes up, could a judge appointed by McCain rule against it? Maybe.

A judge by Hillary or Obama is guaranteed a loss for our side.

You can live happily with that, I cannot. I’d rather err on the side of the pseudo-conservatives. At least there is some kind of chance.

“He was opposed to tax cuts without corresponding spending cuts. “

There hasn’t been a reply to you because people were either embarrassed for you or folks were just shaking their heads because with this statement, they recognized you were a McPain plant/lackey.

Sir, with all due respect, you shouldn’t tell folks to do their research when you spew an interpretation like this on a forum. McCain has a long history of unprincipled harlotry, which includes class warfare/identity politics - some of which would put Edwards to shame.

Just FYI, as you have shown a pattern here, I will not buy your snake oil, and will not engage you in the boundless arguments you are picking. That, sir, is from the liberal playbook and is disappointing to see on a conservative forum, since you’ve notified us that you are keeping score on that measure.

If McCain wins, it's because the Clinton and Obama camps hated each other so much that they couldn't put their animosity aside and unite in their un-Holy desire for power at all costs.

“My state is no longer conservative.”

Well, that explains that liberal Democrat numbskull you have for Gov. Sad how supposedly conservative states let liberal Democrats win and then the state goes pronto down the drain.

” Murders are happening in my neighborhood.”
So murder was invented by mexicans? hmmm, doubt it.

” Illegal aliens are grabbing 12-year-old girls off the street within a mile of my house. Phoenix police are not allowed to arrest them.”
yes they are. Why dont you call them up and ask them? If the cops really wont stop criminality, the only solution is - move. But honestly, you were born yesterday if you cant imagine hellhole neighborhoods with no illegal aliens in them - south Central LA, or if you think the cops wont even arrest people for murder.

“My neighbors don’t speak English and druken groups of men hang out in front yards of houses with 8-cars parked there every night.”
My mother-in-law doesnt speak English. Look on the bright side, you dont have to handle or listen to what they are saying.

“I’ve already lost my American culture.”
No you havent. Its a great American tradition to whine about your awful neighbors, and the drunkenness and love of cars seems quite American.

“I’m not voting for McCain because he’s happy about it”
Yes, he is all for rude neighbors and guys assaulting kids (sarc). Meanwhile he promises to build the d)(*&&mned fence and not ask for amnesty until we have it complete.

From my own readings of this issue, it was due to the influence of the "Gang of 14" that President Bush's nominees for federal judgeships came to a vote, not the other way around. The gang of 14 came together for the purpose of demanding that the appointments come before the judiciary committee for an up or down vote instead of those appointments being sidelined. This is according to the information I read on this issue. So, what was the problem here? I thought conservatives would want Bush's appointments to be voted on, and not held up in committee?

The problem is that the best of President Bush's Judicial picks got sidelined because once again, John McAmnesty chose to compromise with the enemy.

“If it is in our national interest to invade Cuba and restore democratic government, then we should do it.”

I agree with you 100%. I was just letting you know what the gov’t’s position is.

What has to be considered is that Cuba has no natural resources that we need or want. We produce more sugar than Cuba could ever hope to produce. Bananas come from Central America now. They have nothing else that we want. If the island was drowning in oil or had some other natural resource we would have already invaded years ago. That, in my opinion, is why nothing has ever been done about Cuba.

As well, and as it is now, China is deeply entrenched in Cuba. That puts this country in a very difficult position. Kind of a “damned-if-we-do-and-damned-if-we-don’t” kind of situation.

And according to McCain’s amnesty plan, who is going to “certify” that the border is “secure?” That “liberal Democrat numbskull” along with 3 other numbskulls, Schwartzenegger, Richardson, Perry.

Yeah, Paul would R-U-N from Iraq, but McCain will R-U-N this country into the ground. I’d rather sacrifice Iraq than America. It sucks, but that’s the way it is.

Besides, it’s entirely likely McCain will find a way to R-U-N from Iraq anyway.

Yes, I’m sure that none of these ratings are McCain’s lifetime ratings. According to www.vote-smart.org, they’re only from the latest years for which the groups released ratings, 2006 or ‘07. They are: Gun Owners of America, 100%; Club for Growth, 100%; U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 100%; Citizens Against Government Waste, 91%; Americans for Democratic Action, 10%; NEA, 0%; and NARAL, 0%.

I disagree with McCain about immigration and campaign finance reform, but these facts prove that he usually votes conservatively. He votes for lower tax rates, lower spending, gun rights, and abortion restrictions.

Wave goodbye to us

I have spent several weeks in the past year in San Diego and Tucson, on business and vacationing, and, I must say, I don't see it.

To me, North Tijuana and the Old Pueblo are two of the most American places on the planet.

YMMV, of course, but that's the way it looks to me.
