Lesbians riot at Smith College speech
WorldnetDaily ^ | May 2, 2008

Rioting lesbians have stormed a speech by "Born Gay Hoax" author Ryan Sorba on the campus of Smith College in Massachusetts, shutting down his address, according to two major pro-family organizations, Americans for Truth and Mass Resistance.

"Beware lesbians with frying pans (if you care about free speech)," AFT said in his announcement. "Lesbian activists at Smith College just couldn't stand by and let a young critic explain his views about the supposed innateness of homosexuality – so they stormed Ryan Sorba's speech on the 'Born Gay Hoax' and forced him to end it prematurely."

"Thus they decided for everyone in the room – supporters, foes, the curious and the undecided – whether Sorba's arguments would be heard. Stalin would be proud," said AFT's Peter LaBarbera.

"Brian Camenker, Amy Contrada and the dedicated folks at MassResistance.org have captured the totalitarian episode on film for the world to see. Kudos to MassResistance for once again chronicling the anti-democratic antics of the 'gay' Left for the record. It is absolutely shameful that Smith College and Massachusetts authorities would allow Sorba’s First Amendment rights to be neutralized in – of all places – the academy, which is supposed to be a place where opposing ideas can be debated freely," he said.

President Carol Christ noted in a memo "to the Smith Community" after the attack that "on a pragmatic level, after about 10 minutes the speaker could not be heard" and suggested a strategy to defeat such statements that homosexuality is not innate.

"When faced with the visit of a controversial speaker, our challenge as a community is to reaffirm our commitment to teaching and learning. Hearing the views of someone with whom you disagree affords the opportunity to sharpen one's own counterarguments, displaying the weaknesses in their reasoning or evidence," she wrote.

Astounding link contents, to say the least.

I wonder how things would have turned out if the speaker were sponsored under a different political platform, or no political platform.

Does being or acting lesbian automatically compel one to also act like a leftist looney?

LOL

My abortion thread tagline:

"Are your parents Pro-Choice? I guess you got lucky! Is your spouse? Your doctor?"

A little harsh but it's something to think about regarding people who might make life or death decisions for you.

Romans 1:25-27 tells us that same-sex sexual relationships are a consequence of idolatry. In other words, such relationships are a consequence of disobeying the 1ST COMMANDMENT, a major aspect of the GREATEST COMMANDMENT, to love the jealous God with all your being.

Homosexuals need to keep in mind, however, that the good news of the gospel is not about how God despises same-sex sexual relationships. In fact, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 indicates that certain members of that church had been slaves to such relationships but had been cleansed in Jesus' name. So these former homosexuals had evidently repented and accepted God's grace to straighten their lives out.

There IS a low class gene, not one for homosexuality.

The real story in my opinion is how useless and craven the administrators of these colleges are. It really torques my jaws, the way they allow demented thugs to trample other peoples right to speak and be heard. American universities are becoming intellectual and ideological sewers.

The irony of all this is, that like the subject of Expelled, the perverts will distort the presentation as "defense of an intellectual attack" on them, with a mindless physical attack of their own...

Nothing says "loser" better than that attitude...

The massresistance website lies.

It says, “The following morning the president of Smith College issued a statement (reprinted below) about the incident. The statement is very offensive. She characterizes Ryan Sorba’s views as “reprehensible”

This is untrue. She says, “Whether or not one agrees with a speaker, academic freedom is a core value of colleges and universities, one in which I believe strongly. Such freedom entails the right for duly constituted campus organizations to invite speakers to campus who have controversial views, with which people may disagree or even find reprehensible.”

She did not say the speaker’s views were reprehensible. She said he had a right to speak, even if some found his views reprehensible. I find little to disagree with in her statement.

I agree with you—however, there are a lot of idolaters who are not homosexual. And the good news of Jesus is for everyone.

I would argue that Paul in Romans 1 is speaking about the acceptance of homosexual behavior in society, which comes about through idolatry—which is a failure to worship God and obey His word. I don’t think he’s saying that individuals tempted by homosexual thoughts are somehow more idolatrous than everyone else...

Most have had bad experiences in their lives—and have listened to the popular lie that homosexual behavior is just fine and dandy—so they let their destructive feelings grow unchecked. I believe the idea that homosexuals are far worse sinners than everyone else though is wrong, and tends to chase folks tempted in that area, out of the church, into the activists arms...

Jesus saves sinners, but, He doesn’t leave them that way.

Maybe they’ll put up some signs in Northampton for the safety of the public:

“BEWARE OF LESBIANS RUNNING AMOK”

Or something to that effect.

I lived in SanFran for years, and had many gay friends. I’m quite sure that some were born gay and others chose it as a lifestyle. Alan Jones, the dean of Grace Cathedral, gave a really interesting sermon about the difference between discovering one’s sexual identity and merely experimenting around with sexual preference. He was not well received that Sunday.

One handsome, intelligent young man with AIDS told me that he’d spent his years at Princeton outside the library men’s room, going in with anyone who wanted him. When he became HIV positive, he began going to workshops for gays who wanted to become straight. Not that it would help save his life, but he wanted to fully understand his behavior and take responsibility...he discovered that he really could have loved women all along. He was dead within a year. Very sad case. His grandfather had been a prominent general in WW2; his family totally abandoned him when he became ill. I was sort of his stand-in mom who would listen, and I treasured our friendship. He was hideously ill at the end. I don’t know how his family could remain detached.

The Pugster would win in a beauty contest against this bunch. I have a theory that lesbos are mostly ugly broads, and I am constantly getting evidence to confirm that.
