I would like to see Romney for VP if only to see the anti-Romney people here on FR blow a gasket.

He’s just saw the light. I think he’s a born again Conservative. Lets see what he says and does and give him the benefit of a doubt. he wasn’t a conservative as Governor but, I believe he could have changed. Lets wait and see. lets see how he acts and talks in the next few months and years.

To be honest, I hope Mitt would turn McCain down for the VP slot and that Mitt would continue meeting regular Republicans across America and just become more well known in Conservative circles.
Let McCain pick Joe Liebermann and have a go at a Centrist Coallition trying to win the election, Conservatives or people who hold those views really do not need to mix up with John McCain, if he loses (and he may not) whomever is with him will be tarred with the loss ala Dan Quayle.

No kidding. Romney ran to the left of Ted Kennedy back in ‘94.

Sarah Palin has a baby due this month. I don’t think the family-values party should put her on the ticket. Not this round, anyway.

Mitt is a gun grabbing, “assault weapons” hating, big govt medical mandating, commie as far as I'm concerned.
Mitt's hatred of the 2nd Amendment makes him unworthy of being a dog catcher let alone Governor or president.

But Romneys not that conservative. Exactly. The apple don't fall far from the tree. Look at his dad and Rambler and Michigan. Then there's that healthcare thingie that Mitt was big on but last I heard wasn't all that great. (I could be wrong, I haven't been watching it all that closely)
As far as I can see it looks like "Mojave Time" for conservatives for a decade or so...sigh. Thanks RINO'S/McCainiacs/et al.

I could maybe hold my nose and vote for him if he picked Huckabee and found a place for Duncan and Fred Thompson on the team too. It doesn't matter though because he's probably going to pick Hillary.

Let McCain pick Joe Liebermann.. Go ahead...make my day.
That would ensure that I stay home election day and care less about who wins.

Im for Sarah Palin. Gov. of Alaska. She would be the best VP choice in history. Dude, she just got elected Governor of Alaska. Plus she has a newborn baby. I'm sick of FReepers hyping her and Jindal. When did conservatives support affirmative action?

Yup. And Ronald Reagan was a lifelong Democrat at one point in his life. People who have finally seen the light are the most ardent in many cases. Mitt may be one of them. I believe he is. But I still don’t think he’s the best choice for Veep.

If McCain actually attains the presidency, it will not matter who is the Vice President.
It might as well be Carrot Top or Pee Wee Herman.
I can't even believe we are even discussing this.
To: Red Steel
So the way to woo back conservatives is to choose a vp who said during a Republican presidential debate: I like mandates, mandates work?
I think there’s enough north-east liberals in the race, why add another?
