Moderator’s note:This was the first real thread reporting the news today. It was locked for reasons that should be obvious to everyone by now. The Moderator who locked it is the level-headed Mod. I am the arbitrary and capricious Mod. If you choose to martyr yourself I am happy to oblige.

US Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the veteran lawmaker from Massachusetts who is the last surviving brother in the legendary Kennedy family, has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, his doctors said today.

Specialists in Boston and around the country said the information released indicated that Kennedy has terminal cancer and might have only a limited time to live.

Prayers for his full recovery from this awful affliction, AND for a long and healthy retirement from this point on.

This is a sad state that I would not wish upon anyone. I hope he recovers.

That being said, I hope he never again is in a decision making capacity. This man has done so much damage to our country.

As much as I hold the “Swimmer” in disdain, I could never wish this upon him. Saying prayers for him and his family.

Prayers for him.

Prayers for him to repent and make a good confession and turn his life around, before it's too late.

I’d like to know if it is on the same side of his head that he uses for his cell phone. This danger is under publicized.

I worry about all these young kids growing up with cellphones.

I wouldn’t wish this on him. Hope he beats it. Is it operable or treatable?

Strange how you can wish all sorts of terrible things upon someone who has almost single-handedly destroyed the country and then you hear about something like this and you remember what your grandmother told you about not saying anything if you have nothing nice to say, so..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Brain cancer - 18 months.

My husband lived for alomost 1 year to the day with brain tumors and chemo/radiation treatments, Dr said he would only live 1-3 weeks without treatment...at the Senators age I cant imagine them giving him very long even with treatment
