Short but serious question:

So, what's it gonna be folks? Turncoat RINO or America hating Marxist?

Wow, welcome back! Still praying for you. It must be great to be back in your own “Free Republic” instead of the hospital.

I think we are looking at 4 years of a leader we can’t fully get behind, either way. Crucial for the executive branch is that McCain picks a conservative electable Veep. This sets us up better for 2012. It will also help conservatives stomach voting for him.

We need to pay close attention to Congress, and we need as many conservatives getting to the polls and voting local conservatives to EVERYTHING, even dogcatcher, to gather enough junior politicians for the future. (Of course my CA district is so carefully gerrymandered that I may be the only conservative in it...)

"The main thing to like about McClain is that he's right on the war on terror--and if we don't win that war (and we are winning it), nothing else matters."

I've been scared a few times in the past - usually involving pain, death, or severe sartorial errors; But...

Faced with the specter of choosing between balancing support for troops in the field far away (for good cause) against support for the defense of our own lands, society, economy, and even the language, is a whole new dimension.

I'd take any of the prior scares and give change...

I'm still leaning to a Duncan Hunter write in, but 2008 just sucks!

Maybe being old is a good thing.

Welcome back Jim.

McCain is good on some things, not so good on other things. Obama is not good on anything and would be truly dangerous for the country. Sitting this out and repeating the Leninist prescription “the worse the better” is not prudent.

From Michelle Malkin, earlier today: "They've learned nothing. Nada. Zippo. How about you?"

It's a fair question.

I have gone back and forth on this...and I think its time to stop voting for the lesser of two evils. I never liked McCain and Obama is a foolish socialist disaster.

How did we get to this point that these are our choices? At this point in history we have a leading Demoncat candidate named Barrack Hussein Obama?!? Oh yeah..that makes tons of sense. I can’t roll my eyes any further back into my skull.

I say screw the RINO and screw Obamamoron. I will write in Tancredo like I have the past two elections.

McCain drinks the global warming punch and the more he rolls out his McAmnesty the more I wanna barf!

I’m not too confident mr RINO has much of a chance against Barrack Carter Obama anyway....the legions of idiotic clueless libs seem to just love the idiot.

Not to be gloom and doom but it seems very likely the powder keg that is the Iranian situation will go off before the next election anyway. I just hope Bush deals with it and doesn’t pass the torch of doing the job to mr. appeasement.

We have only ourselves to blame, we had legit conservative candidates and why aren’t THEY the nominee?? Were was the support for them when it mattered??

This country is rotting from the inside..saddens me to no end. :(

I’ll (probably) be voting for McCain.

Which reminds me: Does anyone know if it’s illegal in California to vote while intoxicated?

A RINO president will do the same thing as a liberal one, but in so doing will bury the GOP and set back the conservative movement, whereas the liberal president’s actions will just put the Dem party back in the minority. I’m keeping my options open- McCain never was loyal to us, he hasn’t earned the loyalty of conservatives.

Neither. I survived Clinton while in the military, with the constant threats of budget doom, so that argument is invalid. I refuse to give into McCain, who apparently has zero loyalties and is historically more liberal than not.

I may not decide until November 3rd. Until then, I'll try to behave and keep up with my "prescription" above.

Your daddy was a wise man. Posing a question with a seemingly simple choice like this doesn’t do justice to the real problem that underlies this situation. We got here by being complacent in our diligence to conservative principles; it does no good to compound that complacency with just another bad choice.

This election is like trying to decide if you want to vote for Ho Chen Min, Hitler, Mussolini, Castro, Chavez, the little Gargoyle, Stalin, Lenin, or Bill Klinton. You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. It is a sorry state of affairs when all America has to offer for President of the United States of America, the most powerful man in the almost free world, is either McScream, Osama Obama or the flaming Liberal Bitch. If THESE are the best of America, I sadly submit that America has dropped to the level of Yemen.

It amazes me, “our” bad choice is better than their bad choice......THINK ABOUT IT!

America has gone completely nuts!

And Conservatives have been pushed off the pourch.
