“The facts are;
This person was carrying a firearm that would not show up on the National Register.
This person has a long running beef with the local LEOs in this town and the restaurant was picked to force a confrontation.
This person stated on a PA firearms web site that he removed his I.D prior to going to diner.
This person is a FFL in PA and knows the laws.
This person runs an Open Carry web site.
This person’s Wife just happen to have a camcorder to record the whole event.
_-——————————————
You could be correct that this was a deliberate test case, but I see some problems in that regard. I would have had more than one person recording the events if it were a deliberate provocation.
You refer to the “National Register”. Would you please explain what that is? I have never heard of such a thing.
Wrong.
Your calls to 911 or 800 numbers are not blocked.
The call is not on your dime.
The enhanced 911 with GPS tracking may not be available, but the phone company’s central office systems always know the location of the originating equipment and cell tower.
OK, I'll play DA.*
a) Have you communicated your concerns to the individual, both privately and at all group meetings you attended?
b) Have you met with and discussed this approach with his friends beforehand?
c) Have you met with and discussed this approach with the leadership of the groups you attend?
d) Have you met with and discussed this approach with the leadership of the groups he attends?
e) Have you met with and explained the law to the local police forces of your area?
f) Have you taken any action to preclude the overwrought response of the officers into a private setting without contacting the owner beforehand?
( * DA = Devil's Advocate )
I admit, it's real easy to sit on the outside with 20/20 hindsight and play coulda/shoulda/woulda -- but the MSM is not going to give much other than the prosecution's or police department's position much credence. To do otherwise cuts off their access to information that the common public doesn't have.
Carrying a camcorder is a great way to secure 1st amendment rights and fights.
Other than that, have a nice day.

Did they identify themselves, drivers license or something? That is all they needed to do and the Police could have ran a warrants check and everything would be good. PA has presumption like Virginia does and no local areas can change the guns laws of the state. The local police went our of their way and are going to get slammed if not by the district judge then by the appeal court. Presumption is one of the greatest thing they ever came up with protecting your rights. More people pay attention to state politics tan keeping up with every little town’s meetings.
I'm not laughing. Mostly, really.

The whole driving as a privilege thing is out of hand, there is a right to travel, so why are there so many rules on it. As far as requiring a licence to be on the public roads, do you need a licence to be on public land? It is all about controlling peoples movement. Recently, there has been a big push here in Virginia about the DMV being a gatekeeper for other things. Don’t pay child support, no license, didn’t pay any type of fine or fee, no license, didn’t pay your local property taxes, no license.
Like an ASH ALERT, without the LERT.

Sorry about that.

E-911 has nothing to do with caller-id. It is a completely separate thing that cannot be blocked. Otherwise, idiots and other fools would be making false calls all day long. It has been a long time since I had to deal with it, but if you call into 911 from a PBX and location info is not correct, the phone company sends you a letter and you better have it fixed real soon too.
I am confused, what are you talking about?
From everywhere else... The troops here are hoping for an early demise.
And that's sad. No-one should want the early demise of a natural phenomenon, unless you are a complete arsehole.
Maybe you qualify.

You don't know squat.
History matters.

There is no federal requirement for that. NONE. Or at the state level or at the local level. NO REQUIREMENT to comply.
/johnny
I didn’t say anything about it being right. Just that it’s not addressed in The Constitution.
As for as a right of travel, tell that to people who are on the feds no fly list.
