Fox News is announcing that Tony Snow has died.

Heartbreaking news.

I'm watching All Star baseball. Hall of Famers were introduced. All of a sudden I realized. I appreciate this and the reason I appreciate it so much is because of Tony. He taught me to appreciate more things.

I feel blessed to have had this tiny bit of contact with such

I had dinner tonight with some friends. We talked about Tony and wondered who could fill the void of good cheer that was always Tony. He was one of a kind in the press. There’s no replacing him. But you know what he would be telling us to do!

Now I read this thread and start tearing up again. Darn. Darn.

In late June I emailed Tony, telling him that I was photographing our National Team Trials (basketball) in Washington DC in early July, that I could get him in for a behind the scenes look. It was the first email that he did not answer. sigh.

I was thinking last night of Tony in heaven and it made me smile. I could just see him running around and being all excited about his new "adventure". I wonder what fun things he is getting to do? I sure do miss him down here though...

Adorable!!! Love it. The words on Tony's briefcase bring tears to my eyes.

Oh--this one is from the Detroit News! You may know that Tony wrote for them before he went to Washington. That is where my dh and I first 'met' him. I wasn't very interested in politics then (he wrote for them in '84-87--I was in my early to mid 20's), but his writing certainly caught my eye! I am going to email the cartoonist to let him know how much I liked this one.
