Many thanks for your great posting of those pics of our FRiend Tony Snow. I didn’t realise how much he changed over the course of his travail until now. My favourite recollection of Tony at the White House Press Office podium was a retort he gave to one of the MSM idiots to the effect of “Why do you embarrass yourself by asking a question you already KNOW will not be answered!” Many times they tried to trip him up, but he used his wit and honesty to zing them back to look like the fools they often are. We’ll not see his kind again so soon, sad to say.

I expect we’ll see him holding court in our Lord’s Press Room by and by.

Rest in peace, Tony.

LOL Maureen Dowd wrote a column about his ears.

Rush says Obama sought out Dowd in the crowd and said

“Don’t talk about my ears. I’m very uncomfortable about my ears”

LOL!!!!!!!!

Morning AB, All,

I shed a few tears for Tony Snow.

Guy deserved to live way beyond his time allotted.

I understand Tony was quite the Freeper.

Yes we have lost 2 respected journalists and even though especially of recent times Tim Russert was biased and unfortunately as far as many Conservatives are considered his legacy will always be a question mark against him regarding the Libby incident.

Tony Snow on the other hand unless you are a total left wing wacko was respected by all and hardly anyone had a bad word against him regardless of whether you agreed with him or not. He had the ability to disagree without being disagreeable. His friends were across the politcal spectrum and many are saying that he never let politics get in the way of that friendship and often never spoke about politics when socialising with him.

There is so much we could learn from Tony he never ducked or avoided stating what he believed was right whether it be politics or his Christianity but never left those who disagreed with him feeling that they had been personally attacked and many of them in “real life” were close friends.

The thing I remember most about Tony Snow was my surprise over how he would monitor Free Republic, and include comments during his radio show.

He was also on the Sunday Thread on occasion too, if I remember right.

Earlier when they were discussing the new poll, they were in full Messiah spin. But, but, it’s summer vacation, people are away, nobody’s paying attention, who answers their phone... And they are relieved that Barry isn’t doing NASCAR because he might have an accident and get hurt.

Alan Combes and Bob Bechel have been on Fox News Channel for a long time; Bechel was talking about some show he did with Tony Snow a long time ago.

I can call Combes and Bechel a lot of things, but fair and balanced just don't make the list.

Only if Craig Livingstone is on the pit crew.

Morning, Miss Pat. If you have some time, visit the Tony thread from yesterday...so many wonderful posts and tributes. I’ve been crying since yesterday. Last night at Mass, we had “On Eagle’s Wings” as our Offertory Hymn and I just sobbed.

They said the show was ironically called “Off The Record” and it was on the Fox broadcast network.

Rush was also a frequent guest on the show apparently.
