Response to Barack Obama's Comments in Springfield, Rolla and Union, Missouri, Yesterday
standardnewswire ^ | 7/31/08 | John McCain

U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today issued the following statement from McCain Campaign Manager Rick Davis in response to Barack Obama's comments in Springfield, Rolla and Union, Missouri, yesterday:

"Barack Obama has played the race card, and he played it from the bottom of the deck. It's divisive, negative, shameful and wrong."

Barack Obama's Comments Yesterday In Springfield, Rolla And Union, Missouri:

Barack Obama In Springfield, Missouri: "So nobody really thinks that Bush or McCain have a real answer for the challenges we face, so what they're going to try to do is make you scared of me. You know, he's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like all those other Presidents on those dollar bills, you know. He's risky. That's essentially the argument they're making." (Barack Obama, Remarks, Springfield, MO, 7/30/08)

Barack Obama In Rolla, Missouri: "That's not the debate we're getting out of John McCain right now. He's spending an awful lot of time talking about me. You notice that? I haven't seen an ad yet where he talks about what he's gonna do. And the reason is because those folks know they don't have any good answers, they know they've had their turn over the last eight years and made a mess of things. They know that you're not real happy with them. And so the only way they figure they're going to win this election is if they make you scared of me. So what they're saying is, 'Well, we know we're not very good but you can't risk electing Obama. You know, he's new, he doesn't look like the other presidents on the currency. He's got a funny name.' I mean, that's basically the argument -- he's too risky." (Barack Obama, Remarks, Rolla, MO, 7/30/08)

· Watch: http://blip.tv/file/1132429

Barack Obama In Union, Missouri: "John McCain and the Republicans, they don't have any new ideas, that's why they're spending all their time talking about me. I mean, you haven't heard a positive thing out of that campaign in a month. All they do is try to run me down, and you know, you know this in your own life, right? If somebody doesn't have anything nice to say about anybody, that means they've got some problems of their own. So they know they've got no new ideas, they know they're dredging up all the stale, old stuff they've been peddling for the last eight, ten years. But since they don't have any new ideas the only strategy they've got in this election is to try to scare you about me. They're going to try to say that I'm a risky guy, they're going to try to say, 'Well, you know, he's got a funny name, and he doesn't look like all the presidents on the dollar bills and the five dollar bills,' and they're going to send out nasty e -mails. And the latest one they got me in an ad with Paris Hilton. You know, never met the woman. But, you know, what they're going to try to argue is that somehow I'm too risky. You know, basically what they're saying to you is we know we didn't do a real good job, but he's too risky." (Barack Obama, Remarks, Union, MO, 7/30/08)

He's right about one thing, though it's not McCain's fault:

I'm scared to death of this man!

One of Obama’s backers on Kudlow’s show just said that McCain played the race card by accusing Obama of playing the race card.

We’re gonna need a bigger deck. Maybe 57..

I sure as hell didn’t need McLame to tell me that Obama-rama-lama-ding-dong is a dangerous person...

BHO has accused the Repubs of ‘playing the race card’ when, in fact, the only folks mentioning race are him, his handlers, and the MSM. Seems like they are the ones who don’t want you to forget it.

I have no great love for McLame, but he’s got to be a better choice than this upstart, empty suit, stuffed shirt LibTard. But, that’s just my opinion.

And it’ll be like this 24-7 for 4 long years if he’s elected (so far, Obama’s only been SELECTED).

What scares ME isn’t a QUALIFIED, AMERICA-FIRST President —white, black, yellow or brown.

What DOES scare the guano out of me is an UNQUALIFIED, MEDIA-MADE, OVEREDUCATED but COMMON SENSELESS EMPTY SUIT with MUSLIM LEANINGS.

If Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas or some OTHER QUALIFIED black AMERICAN run, I’d be out there campaigning for him.

Memo to Barack: DUDE, THIS HAS LESS TO DO WITH RACE THAN IT DOES WITH YOUR ANTI-AMERICANISM AND MARXISM. Put the RACE CARD AWAY CAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE A JOKER.

If voting against Barack Obama means I am a racist, I’ll just have to learn to live with that...

Obama has a point. He looks more like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton that he does George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

“Barack Obama In Union, Missouri: “John McCain and the Republicans, they don’t have any new ideas,”

Obama doesn’t have new ideas. His ideas are from the same old LIBERAL, LIBERAL, LIBERAL agenda.

If voting against Barack Obama means I am a racist, I’ll just have to learn to live with that.

And that's his problem. The old white guilt thing isn't working.

There are no night riders in KKK robes roaming the streets of America's inner cities but thousands of young African Americans are murdered every year just the same - by other African Americans.

The school districts of our inner cities are failing to educate young African Americans. The school boards of those districts are controlled by African Americans.

Our urban centers are lagging behind in the creation of new jobs and are unable to attract new industries to replace those that fail. These cities are controlled for the most part by African Americans.

As time goes by it becomes more and more evident that the problems of the African American community are largely self inflicted. Barak Obama's program promises only to do to the rest of America what has been done to the inner cities.

It's really despicable when politicians play on race to get ahead.

If obamawama gets elected POTUS, nobody will be allowed to even look mean at this arrogant empty suit or they will accused of playing the race card.

Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "I look forward confidently to the day when all who work for a living will be one with no thought to their separateness as Negroes, Jews, Italians or any other distinctions. This will be the day when we bring into full realization the American dream -- a dream yet unfulfilled. A dream of equality of opportunity, of privilege and property widely distributed; a dream of a land where men will not take necessities from the many to give luxuries to the few; a dream of a land where men will not argue that the color of a man's skin determines the content of his character; a dream of a nation where all our gifts and resources are held not for ourselves alone, but as instruments of service for the rest of humanity; the dream of a country where every man will respect the dignity and worth of the human personality."

Of course Obamessiah used the race card. He used it against Hillary and it worked. I hope America isn’t as stupid as he thinks they are.
