CSPAN has shut down coverage of the House. The lights have been turned out.
House Republicans are still there, raising cain- trying to get them to turn the lights back on and continue debating over drilling!!!

I just called and said "There's a Republican revolt going on int the House Chamber and I wasn't seeing much coverage of it." I got a run around on it. Was told several times "There are no cameras on now. Cameras are not allowed." I objected, politely, that the story could still be covered.
He seemed mildly irritated that I would question that and asked if I wanted to talk to (name garbled) and I said yes. Got a phone tree that led to leaving a recorded message. I did...
"There's a Republican revolt going on in the House Chamber. I understand that the cameras are turned off. You can still cover the story. Thank you."
We had to move and our rent doubled. Add gas prices and fuel oil to heat a bigger place and we’re losing it financially. It’s going to be a very cold winter for us.

This storm shows that our leaders are dangerously delusional. I do not mean ‘delusional’ in a pejorative sense, rather in a literal sense.
Time and again in the last few years we have seen politicians who do not seem to have the traditional sense of self preservation. When an issue such as illegal immigration or ‘drill now’ comes along they actually don’t realise that they must abandon business as usual and do as the people insist. The poll numbers on drill now are high enough to scare the very stones in the street and yet Pelosi et al; actually think they can blow it off.
Poor Huey Long must be spinning in his grave.
I feel your pain. The only thing that will save us is that my husband get a promotion to CW3 soon then in a few more months he get a small increase in pay for being over 20 years in (I think that number is right).
Funny how when you realize there might be an increase in pay you start planning how to save and pay off bills.
You can thank the environmentalists for the price of diesel. Diesel used to be cheaper than regular gas, but then they mandated ultra-low-sulfur diesel, which added considerably to the cost

Last count has the approval rating of Congress at 9%. My guess is that it is lower now...
